I've really tried to give this place grace, but I can't give it any more of my business. Of my…read moreseveral visits, the only consistently positive experience I've had is Jasmine's service. Even during busy times I've been where she was the only server working, she's always really pleasant and never made me feel rushed. This review is about tonight's experience. After picking up my order (by foot), I get home and see that someone named Maurice called to let me know only half my order was given to me (I believe he's the manager). I asked if he could just credit that portion of my order, and he said I'd have to do it through the app (there's not an option to do so). There was no offer to have the order delivered to me so I just walked back to pick it up. He did apologize for the inconvenience when he handed me the bag, and said he put a $10 card in the bag. When I got home and open up the food (dinner-sized scallops entree), they gave me the smallest scallops I'd ever seen, they were not pan-seared (or under-seared), were rubbery and had NO flavor. This was not worth the price, the inconvenience of walking a half-mile back to the restaurant for, and def not worth the $10 card that I'd have to spend $30 to unlock on an order that automatically includes gratuity. I hope if this happens to a patron in the future, they will consider having the order delivered, and at least throw in a complimentary appetizer or dessert if it's too much of a hassle to credit them. As for the food quality...i just want them to do better. The place is beautiful and I want them to succeed.

That made the environment interesting to say to the least. Plenty of seating for it to be a bar which was refreshing for Baltimore. Service was so so. It took quite a bit to get the bartender's attention but they were doing a lot so I get it. Food was good. The wings had great flavor but a few of my wings were not wings. They were just chicken balls with bones. Seeing those kind of turned me off and I didn't want eat anymore. So essentially, I left 4 wings on the plate because of how they looked. We also ordered crab dip. That was fantastic! The pita bread they used was so good! Warm with a slight crisp to it. Overall it was a bar, so I wasn't expecting much. I will definitely be going back for the other events the have during the week for something to do this winter.

Apparently the tavern is connected to but not owned by the same folks at the brewery. It's also seemingly one of the only spots in town that's open seven days a week. Finding parking was surprisingly difficult on a Sunday night, but I circled around until I found a spot. The place seemed pretty packed, with folks waiting for tables, but since I was just there for the beer, I was sent upstairs to the bar. A couple of really nice bartenders were on duty and helped me right away. I got an amber beer which went down smooth, and I opted to get a pizza too. Heads up: If you're vegan you can basically sub out any pizza for a vegan option, but be certain to ask about ingredients, as no one pointed out the white sauce isn't vegan until I asked. I like spice and smokiness, so I opted for the Holy Smoke -- Alabama White BBQ, Tavern Blend Cheese, Cheddar, Smoky BBQ Sauce, Pulled Chicken, Pickled Jalapeños, Corn, Hardwood Smoke -- according to the menu. The pizza came out super quickly and it smelled like a campfire... in a really good way. The pizza was tasty and the crust was also realllly good. I ate half of it and took the other half to go, which ended up being another meal. And I can confirm it tastes good cold too! I'd definitely come back here, particularly on a warm day when the patio is open (it was raining pretty hard when I was there, so sadly, no outdoor seating). The people are super friendly and the menu definitely has a lot of options. If you're in Ellicott City, put it on your list!

Our server, Dee, maintained a professionally cordial and accommodating demeanor throughout the service. The cream of crab soup was exceptional: It possessed a desirable thin consistency, avoiding the heavy, pudding-like texture sometimes encountered. The portion of crab meat was generous. The flavor profile was exquisite. The quality of the draft beer indicated meticulous maintenance of the beer lines. The brownie sundae was satisfactory. Areas for Improvement (Negative Observations): My filet mignon was served with noticeably burnt edges. This was only discovered late in the meal, as the service up to that point had been ideal. Overall Conclusion: The overall rating assigned is a B+. Given the presence of the executive chef, an A-level performance was the expectation.

The crunchy onion straws. Then I bit into the white, flaky meat, hopeful it would match the caliber of its accompaniments. I was sadly mistaken. To avoid reaching for my dad to give me the Heimlich, I gulped water to get it down. Considering fish comes from water, it's quite a trick to make it taste like kindling. If you're going to serve your patrons dry fish and make them sweat to death in your hot dining room while they wait for refills, kindly put a carafe of water on each table. Or let them wear CamelBaks. Our waitress was clearly overworked. She was managing about 20 tables, making it hard to get more water--or anything, really. At least put man bun to work and have him ask customers if they need anything. Like water. If it were socially acceptable for me to wring my shirt into my glass, I would have. I didn't want to embarrass my father, so I refrained. I swore I wouldn't rip any more restaurants, but no one asked why I left three-quarters of my fish on the plate. Not the overworked waitress. Not the manager, who walked past our table half a dozen times, intentionally dodging eye contact. If they had, I would have told them the truth. Frankly, I think they already knew. So here we are. The truth hurts sometimes. Just like dry fish going down the gullet.

They made sure we ate and got drinks on time. Dinner was amazing and appropriately hot for all of our guests. The substitutions we wanted were there and the wine we set to the side for us as the bride and groom was served to us without any hassle. Everyone was friendly and did a fantastic job. I'm still hearing about how professional and ready everything was from having cocktails ready and mocktails for guests before they even needed to go to the bar. I'm also still hearing about the focaccia bread that was served during cocktail hour. You cannot go wrong with Zeffert and Gold. I loved the option to take home or donate food that was leftover. Not only was EVERY plate and EVERY drink excellent (thanks to our event manager, Kim!!!!), but even from the very beginning, Zeffert & Gold helped us orchestrate the whole wedding to be its best self. We could not have done it without Matt. He was kind, generous, and so thoughtful and full of care in every response, from a simple email to a big email to an in-person meeting. Even some of our silliest ideas didn't feel so ridiculous--like using cocktail swords for every app or including a "virgin martini" on the signature drinks menu (it was an olive in a cup)--it was so amazing to see everything come to life!!!! And Matt and my fiancé came up with an idea to incorporate special grilled cheeses into our apps menu, directly referencing our first date!!!!! and the Zeffert & Gold baker purchased a heart shaped cake pan just for us!! Z&G really helped us bring our dream wedding to life, they understood our vision and helped build it out and execute it. And Matt was very familiar with our venue--much more familiar than we were--and had very helpful floorplans for us to reference when doing seating charts! It was such a good idea to have the ceremony on the first floor and cocktail + reception both on the third floor. We would have never known unless Matt hadn't weighed in and shared his expertise and experience!!! AND THE PROFESSIONALISM--Matt was on time for every walk-through, every call, every meeting--way ahead of us every time, for sure. We also have to give a shoutout to our special server, Coren, who was so delightful!!! We really enjoyed our time with her! Sorry Coren, I totally would have chugged that glass of prosecco if my mom hadn't said no! The food was so good, and we have been enjoying the leftovers immensely. Especially the bread pudding. Sadly the appetizers are already gone. They did not make it through the end of Sunday. But we have kept the dipping sauces. We may eat them with spoons.

When I arrived basic table and chair setups were not completed as requested and contracted. To the point I and some of my guest along with my caterer had to finish the setup. Then at one point at my event I noticed the owners husband helping himself to multiple plates of my family's food. I tried to remain cordial but when you have to overlook so much and still pay it is very hard. The husband and I had words during the planning and execution of my family's event more then once overall I found their management team to be rude and as if my business was a bother to them and was a problem. Money is GREEN and all humans when you pay you have a basic level of customer service expected it was not delivered. While the venue is pretty the management teams attitude is less then piss poor... if you want to be stressed out and irritated yet have your event at a pretty place then this is the venue for you. The stress and rudeness of their team was not worth the venues cuteness for me... I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and will never use them again. Maybe they treat brides better but my event was a very simple family event... and they failed miserably to do the most basic of things... and they had a HUGE insect issue that could have and should easily been controled by spraying NEVER AGAIN most brides are likely so in love that they are blind to the mess but this place would get a negative -1 from me if it were possible. PISS POOR PERFORMANCE RATING IS BEING TOO KIND

A few years overdue, I did the tested and true research, getting four estimates, only from roofers…read morewho were highly rated on Yelp. I have been battling two leaks, one on each side of the house where we added an addition in 2006. Jose, the owner at Restoration Roofing, was able to squeeze me in and visited me the same day I requested the estimate on Yelp while the others responded and came in a day or two. Jose arrived early for our appointment and flew a drone over the house, the other roofers relied on a company that specializes in providing sqft and other data to roofers. Jose was the only one who really impressed me and presented me with a beautifully written, thorough, bulleted estimate describing all materials to be used per my preferences (e.g., Certainteed Landmark Pro shingles) before even leaving. Jose was friendly, professional and obviously knew residential roofing based on our half an hour or so together. The other roofers all got back with estimates in a day or two, which was fine - but Jose's estimate was the best-written, clear and concise but thorough, on a one-page form. Jose did not pressure me while I was waiting on the other roofers' estimates at all, when he left he just shook my hand and asked me to contact him if I had any other questions, in a warm and genuine way. The overall sense I had, combining all the Yelp reviews and my own interaction with Jose was that he is a genuine, friendly roofing expert. When the other estimates came in, I was happy to see Restoration Roofing's was among the lowest two for a lot of reasons. One reason was the pages and pages of stellar Yelp reviews from Yelpers who had solid Yelping history. Another was his communication and person skills. In addition, Jose's company is Certainteed Master Certified and Certainteed shingles, from my research, are great value and quality. In addition to a new roof and identification of the source of the leaks and repair/prevention and the upgraded shingles, I asked for new oversized gutters and downspouts, and pvc facia. When roofing day arrived, Santos, Josh and a crew seven others were right on time and were friendly and hard-working! I watched off and on as they did herculean work to remove the old roof, including replacing some of the rotted wood in need of replacement (see pic of one leak and damaged wood). They did a fine job, paying attention to detail and photographing their progress from their lofty perch, and at the job's completion Jose provided me with a link to over a hundred photos documenting the progress. I watched as the flashing, nailing, boot replacement... everything went flawlessly. And they did a great job cleaning up and did a couple extra things no charge, like resecuring soffit. I was confident when I selected Restoration Roofing over the other highly-rated roofers. A week and a half later, my roof is beautiful! All in all from appointment to estimate, to roofing, to gutters, to the photos and the price of the estimate holding true, it was a stellar experience and I can't thank them all enough for being so great at what each excels at. Read the other reviews on Yelp too! I highly recommend you go with Restoration Roofing. Excellence in everything and Integrity too! THANKS RESTORATION ROOFING!!! I will recommend you heartily and wish much success and happiness for all of you.
