Not only was I treated like crap by one of the owners Beth, the other owner Phil shouldn't be tattooing anybody if it's more than a clip art off a wall. Beth had the nerve to tell me I was "nitpicking." Phil knew I wasn't happy and actually seemed embarrassed by his work (as he should be). He did offer to fix it for me after it healed, however I paid for this Tattoo, cut my losses and went to a professional to fix it. FYI: It takes alot for me to go on Yelp and write a negative review. Came in for a tattoo last minute (day off and wanted to just get inked) and they were nice enough to take me. I showed a tat I wanted to the owner (?) who was a lady with many tats and a hispanic gentleman who was an artist. The artist stated that he could take me and do the tat for "standard fee" of $80 (verbatim). I thought that was a reasonable price and agreed to wait. Then a lady by the name of Katie freed up and said she'd take me. She was very accommodating and drew it out, I didn't give her any shtick and at the first sketch I agreed to slap it on me. She then said calmly "$150 for that". I was like, hold on..I'll wait for the other guy who said he'd do it for $80 then. She brought him over (the guy stopped tattooing his client) and he said "no, you showed me something else". I said, "man, this is the only reference I have of it. Are calling me a liar?" Which he then replied, "that wasn't what you showed me." I looked at the owner and said to her "are you going to say something? you were right there." She just shrugged her shoulders. Lol. It was a simple tattoo and took less than an hour. After a little negotiating, she agreed that she would meet me half way on the difference for $120 (and I tipped $20). I thought she did a decent job and quickly on a easy tattoo and I thought that maybe she could give me a price on 4 more that I wanted done very soon. I emailed her with pics and details, and got no response...I then Instagramed her and asked if she received it. She then replied "I got it, but stopped reading after you said 'bulk discount'." I was under the impression that if I loyally come to you - guaranteeing you business - you would say that you normally 'charge this', and would give me 'a break' or just give me your damn prices without even brining it up. Extremely unprofessional to say the least. I see all of the reviews now that I'm on Yelp and wish I would have looked in to it prior - probably wouldn't have stopped me because the tattoo was an easy one (how could you mess up 4 numbers?), but the prices are all made up on the fly. I would have just moved on, but after the (brief) Instagram exchange, I was pretty upset. Thought I could forward some business to an artist who just got done inking me - my mistake. I was nothing but polite too! I hope that people read this and they ask for someone else to tattoo them, maybe then she will appreciate every paying client once she loses traffic. read more

I am very upset with my tattoo I received at maximum. First, the woman who did my tattoo was not friendly. While she was tattooing me she was being harsh and rude when telling me what to do/where to turn. After I got the tattoo I immediately noticed it's crooked, and it's very obvious. I didn't know what to say and left in a fury. I called back a few days later and kindly told the woman that unfortunately I'm upset with my new tattoo. It's crooked and uneven and very obvious, and it's something that means a lot to me. She then goes, "well honey it's kind of hard to hit a moving target" basically blaming it on me. I've gotten two tattoos do before-I don't squirm, I don't move. This was her fault. It's incredibly unprofessional to tread a customer like that. It was rude and a sloppy job. I am now paying to get the bottom arrow removed and am incredibly frustrated I have to spend more money on something that was not my fault. read more

This place is alright. I wouldn't say great, just average. If you're looking for a place with tattoo artists and not just tattooists, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. If you do end up going here don't waste your time and money with Jim. Not a very professional person and definitely not fun to be tattooed by, also not a very good tattooist. Doesn't listen to what you want, talks in circles, and can be incredibly inappropriate. Here is a picture of the tattoo that I paid $400 for. It's supposed to be a galaxy... The woman who was going to tattoo us "Beth" has the nastiest attitude and spoke rudely about us when she thought we were out of the shop, said that we were nit picky and should have emailed her what we wanted in advance.. which we did. She had an attitude her entire interaction with us and we were as nice as we possibly could have been. We waited an hour to be treated like trash and then waived away when addressed. I got my first tattoo here last week. Katie was my artist, and she is professional, down to earth, and takes her work seriously. I arrived at the shop and she was ready to take me right around our scheduled appointment time. Once I got situated, she got her utensils ready, everything new and clean. When the tattoo was going on, it hurt, but pretty quickly that pain dulled. I was happy that Katie did a lot of work in just over an hour, whereas I was planning on two hours. Her artistry is really impressive, and she basically designed my tattoo and the color scheme just by getting a sense of what I wanted from a few other pictures. I never saw the colors until they were on my back, but I had read such great reviews and had seen the quality of her work, so decided to trust her. Now that I am close to a week out, it is healing up nicely, and I am really loving this piece. Katie gave me great instructions for aftercare, and just in general took great care of me. I went into this shop worried about the pain, worried about getting something that turned out bad, worried that I was just some weird almost 40 year old that wouldn't be "cool" enough to hang out in a tattoo shop, but I am happy to say that none of that was an issue. They welcome everyone, don't seem to judge anyone I saw come or go, and do amazing work. My husband also had a full back piece done by Phil, and he loves it. It goes from shoulder to shoulder and then down and across his back where his belt would be, and the work is really perfect. Rude artist, (older chubby bald guy with facial hair) if you can even call him that. Can't even do a simple line. Asked to have it lower in the wrist and rotated to face me and proceeded to judge everything. Asked why I even wanted this tattoo and if I was trying to impress somebody. Once he put the stencil it was all crooked and had to ask for it to be centered , being extremely annoyed by my request. Forgot simple lines and after being 'done'. Some lines are thicker than others and too close together. Hexagon lines go past the shapes. oh and by the way nobody here follows any type of mask protocol what so ever, literally did not see one artist wear their mask. I am filing a complain because it's absurd that they have a sign posted outside yet not one artist I saw had a mask on. I went to 4 other shops and all of them were wearing and following appropriate mask protocol, really don't know what's so hard about following such a minimal task that literally saves lives. Phil did his third work in me yesterday. Well, fourth of you count fixing up a small disaster from another shop. This one was a kind of big piece - well big for me and my biggest. (3 1/2 hours). Phil was receptive to my idea and actually did research on the equipment my subject wore. The artwork is crisp and the detail is stunning. If it had come out like I had hoped it would, I would have been happy. BUT this far surpassed my hopes. Phil added a detail (but checked with me first) and even though it is a small detail, it really added to the entire piece. I could not imagine how this could look better. I am extremely pleased. The previous two pieces Phil did for me are equally as good. Excellent shop. Everyone was cool and all the customers I saw there were happy. Definitely recommend. read more

This is a very unassuming place. Located in a strip mall off Milwaukee avenue. Drive a littler further north you are in Lincolnshire. Drive a little south and you are at Palwaukee airport. Small shop but loaded with talent. I got both my tattoos from Katie and they are amazing. She is super patient, super chill and listens to what you want. Communication is great. If aren't luckily don't get her as a walk-in, she is typically is booked a couple months out. Trust me though, she's worth the wait. It's such a super clean, super comfortable place.
