Besides price, our other priority was a company that did not use subcontractors, and SoCal Roofing only uses their own employees, so we felt confident moving forward with them after checking out some of the previous homes they'd worked on. From quote to install, the project went very smoothly. They were quick to respond to any questions we had, and the full roof replacement was done in about three days. Timing couldn't have been better, since we got several days of rain a few days after the install, so it was the perfect time to "test" the roof to make sure there weren't any leaks. We were solid. Among all the businesses we've worked with for other upgrades to our home, we can honestly say that SoCal Roofing is one of the only ones where we have felt 100% confident in the work that they did. They are very thorough with their work and you can tell they truly take pride in it. We would happily recommend them to family and friends.

Carlos came out and provided 2 different quotes, one for full replacement and another one for replacing only a portion to include upgrading all the vents. I wasn't expecting that but after consideration, I thought that was the best option. We scheduled the repair and they were prompt, professional, and clean. His team came out on time and worked like a machine to complete in one day. They cleaned up after they were done and then the foreman came out same day to inspect and perform quality control. Aside from saving me thousands on our options, I was very impressed with SoCal from start to finish. I would highly recommend their services.

They completed the entire project in just five days, which was impressive given the scope of work. Francisco, the salesman, was extremely patient throughout the process. He took the time to demonstrate different roofing models and options, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and consistently checked in with us to make sure we felt comfortable with our decision. Crystal was outstanding when it came to payment services and customer support. She was organized, responsive, and made the administrative side of the project smooth and stress-free. Overall, Greencal Construction is transparent, professional, and truly goes above and beyond. I'm very happy we selected them and feel confident knowing our roof is well protected.

Work we wanted done: New roof and Solar installation. 1000 sqft home with 12 panels. When we started the process: August 15th Cost: 65k Why we chose them: They are not the best priced but we felt like their service level would be better than a huge national company. We were very wrong. Also they were certified platinum through the roofing company and solar we wanted. What has gone wrong in a nutshell: We felt very forgotten and gaslit throughout this process. We were told and notified things were submitted when they weren't. They blamed the city on getting permits on time but in reality the permits were approved weeks before they came out. The process wasn't given to us on how things were going to happen and in what steps, we got different answers every time we asked about this. Then when we follow up we get told that we still have time etc etc. Even when we have people scheduled to come do the install the workers didn't show up, they didn't even know until we called, then said a delivery should have happened the day before. Again, not keeping us in the loop. I would have assumed that through all the hoops we had to jump through they would have given us more TLC, nope. Not at all. Nick Messenger said he was going to personally help me project manage this, but I haven't heard back from him after he made that comment. Not through text not through call. And every time we do talk on a call it's because whatever was happening blew over and he would assume that I'm happy now. So all in all this is just another really good sales team. I highly suggest not going with them and finding a cheaper place that might be a national company of sorts so that you have more protection and better pricing. Anywho feel free to DM me if you want proof and details. I attached some of the communication I have had with them too.

He was extremely thorough and truly left no stone unturned. He found issues that other inspectors could have easily overlooked, and those findings ended up helping me secure a sizable credit from the seller during negotiations. Everything was handled professionally, and all reports, photos, and follow-up information were returned quickly and in a very timely manner, which was huge since real estate timelines move fast. He also explained everything clearly and made the process feel a lot less stressful. He was referred to me by someone I trust, and now I understand why. Specialist Roofing & Repair and especially their consultant Noah is our go to for roofing services…read more We worked with Noah during our home inspection and he proved to be the most thorough and polished professional we worked with. His personable nature immediately put us at ease and showed his genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. Our roof had several areas of concern, and he communicated everything clearly and knowledgeably highlighting all of the risks and recommendations. He even made a detailed video on the spot during the visit to walk us through his findings which proved valuable during negotiations with the seller. Later Noah returned to help troubleshoot several leaks during heavy rains. He again demonstrated his commitment and attentiveness and methodically tracked down the source of the leak and presented solutions. We absolutely plan to work with Noah and Specialist Roofing & Repair again. Noah truly cares and gets the job done in a clear, educational, and professional way.

Let me just start by saying I'm a researcher. When I look for quotes, I first check Google to see…read morewhat the average price of my expected repair will cost, then get multiple quotes and compare both scope of work and cost. Upon initial inquiry, Specialist Roofing & Repair was pretty quick to reply, so I scheduled a consultation. One odd thing is, when I scheduled, they asked if the would be seeing both my husband and I or just me; I find this a strange question as what if I wasn't married? It is awfully assumptive to think I had to have a husband, but I digress. Noah was scheduled to perform the inspection. He was running a bit late and called about 5 minutes after our scheduled time letting me know he ran into some traffic and would be about another 5 minutes or so. He showed up 20 minutes later and it was the oddest thing, he parked in my driveway. When he came up to the door he asked if it was okay and I said okay, but honestly, I found it really strange and just didn't want to prolong the appointment. Upon inspection, he seemed very knowledgeable and personable and did a pretty thorough inspection taking pictures and videos of the roof and surrounding areas. As mentioned, I am the type to obtain multiple quotes, so I expected that after he did the inspection, we would go over his findings and a few days later I would receive a quote. After he did the inspection, he showed me a video of something the other roofers didn't, which was nice as I like a thorough job, but then said he would be in touch with a quote. I received a phone call a few days later asking to discuss findings, but when I called back, I got an AI bot which was then followed up by a call back from a real person. Oddly enough, when they called, they literally said nothing. They asked if it was a good time to talk and I said yes but they wanted to talk when "my husband was around." Even though I said it was a good time, they said they would call back. I followed up via Yelp message. It has been over a week and I have yet to receive any quote from them. Needless to say, I won't be going with this company. They aren't willing to work with just a woman and are unresponsive.

I read enough horror stories online about 8 month projects or installers going bankrupt that I needed to make sure my installer will be in business when something goes wrong. Ameco seems to have a good reputation and has been around for 44 years. Plus, our sales agent Rudy was the most responsive and frank of the 6-7 i talked to. Some sales teams tried to strongarm us into a more expensive package with fear mongering or claims of knowing more about the industry. Other companies' (including one i was seriously considering) sales seemed to be sweeping details about the contract under the rug, which gave me a bad vibe. AMECO was not the cheapest, but below average. There were two things that shocked me though, but didn't end up impacting my installation: 1) AMECO is owned by NRG (one of the other companies we were considering, which DID have the lowest price but also some negative reviews) 2) AMECO doesn't actually use its own in house crew as suggested by sales in north bay, but uses contractors. I was a bit pissed about this when I found out since I was specifically looking for installers with in house teams, but the guys they brought in were consistent each time and did a decent job and communicated pretty well with headquarters so I gave them a pass. The installation process: We were assigned a project manager called Ivan. I have to say Ivan was stellar. Prompt in his communications, knew all the details, was on top of my questions before I even asked them, proactively provided updates, chased down issues for me on a moment's notice. He always picked up when I called, always texted back promptly. Every step of the process I felt informed, in control, and understood all the current issues we needed to chase down. Even though the installers weren't in house, he kept a tight leash. The installation itself was blazing fast. I had budgeted 3 months for the signing to installation at least, but they finished it in roughly two including permitting, engineering - maybe because it's not peak season? It was so fast I wasn't even mentally prepared when we cut over to solar power. The installers that came were knowledgeable, good workmanship, showed up a few hours before the inspection and physically walked through every component to ensure it was done right. Passed inspections the first time. I had no complaints. The followup issue: Our system shut down a week after it installed. Our power provider gave us permission to export energy, i turned on the feature in the device and it died. I was freaking out since I wasn't sure who to call or whether Ameco would still care since they'd technically finished the installation. Called Ivan who scheduled to have a tech come out in a couple hours (though it was later rescheduled to the next day). Turned out my system was faulty and had to be replaced by Tesla. Again Ivan communicated expectations clearly to me about how long it'll take for the part to arrive, when the team would come out to install it. Turned out his plan was pretty accurate (off by 1 day since the part didn't arrive on time) and I had a functional system 4 hours after Tesla delivered the replacement part. There was also a billing question I had (because I didn't read the invoice), which they responded pretty promptly and cleared my confusion in 4 hours. Overall, the service I received was great. Every step I knew exactly when the next milestone was, how it was going to be done and what I needed to do. I was never left hanging and I felt Ameco had done its best to ensure my system was installed the right way. Time will tell how the workmanship holds up, but so far so good. Aside from the original dissatisfaction about not having in house teams, there was nothing to complain about. I think if you get a project manager like Ivan on your installation, you'll be in good hands.

I'm currently in the middle of my solar installation process, and while I'm still glad I decided to…read morego solar, the experience getting there has been frustrating. The biggest issue, by far, has been communication, specifically with Stan, who was my main point of contact. He was extremely unreliable and difficult to reach. Texts and calls weren't just delayed, they were ignored for weeks at a time. There was no consistency, no follow-through, and no real accountability. I was given the wrong inspection date, which caused us to miss it while out of town and forced a reschedule delaying the project even further. That mistake alone should have been avoidable. Even more frustrating, after telling me "everything is all set" and that I could reach out anytime, he completely disappeared. I've sent multiple messages about ongoing delays and got no response. At that point, it stops being a communication issue and becomes a breakdown in basic professionalism. The process has taken far longer than expected. I started in December, and as of April, I'm still waiting for everything to be fully cleared even though installation has already happened. I've had to call different numbers just to get basic updates on what's going on or what's missing, which shouldn't be necessary. That said, not everyone on the team has been an issue. Tony, who handled the installation, was excellent, responsive, professional, and quick to address problems when they came up. Jason Anderson was also great to work with during the initial phase and helped get things moving. Bottom line: I'm happy with the decision to go solar, but the communication and project management, especially from Stan, have made the process feel unnecessarily difficult. If those issues were fixed, this would have been a much smoother experience.

I was provided with a non English speaking crew, which made it hard to communicate important details. Because of this, I was never informed that my previously installed EV charger would create a solar permit issue. That oversight ended up costing me an additional $2,000. For a company charging at the higher end, I expected clear communication and a thorough review of existing electrical work. Instead, I was left paying for issues that should have been identified upfront. My advice to future customers: - Make sure they thoroughly review all prior electrical work done in your home. - Ask specifically about permit implications before signing. - Get clear confirmation on who will be onsite and whether they can communicate effectively with you. - Do not assume they will proactively flag electrical conflicts, you may be asked to pay for corrections later. The company is on the expensive side, and I accepted that cost in exchange for what I believed would be a smooth, well-communicated experience. Unfortunately, the communication breakdown and unexpected added costs did not justify the premium pricing. Proceed carefully and ask very detailed questions before committing.

I was initially skeptical since others stated 5+ days, but I could see how organized and efficient the team was. Since roofing is expensive and stressful, I made sure to get four other competitive quotes from other roofers. The price from ASR came out the best with the same specs, but I would still have went with ASR even if they were more expensive, just because of the trust I had in Bryan. Throughout, I got to meet Bryan's father, Frank who has 30 years of roofing experience and was accommodating to my needs such as when I requested protection of my garden during tear-off. I also met Bryans brother Steven during the shingle installation, which reinforced the sense that this was a family business that genuinely cares about the quality of their work. Finally, after the installation was finished, the team still cared very much about passing inspection for permitting and to ensure their reputation is upheld. Even after payment was completed, they continued providing follow-up support when needed, which gave me additional assurances in their commitment to quality. I highly recommend All Service Roofing (ASR).
