Remote start installed on my car was wired/installed incorrectly. My car wouldn't start on two occasions; after first purchasing a BRAND NEW battery the car died AGAIN. Husband took it in and they didn't know what was wrong so told him to keep driving it and see if happens again...FOR REAL??? What an inconvenience!!!!! Took it in today to finally get fixed and installed properly (time will tell) after husband waited over 3 hours! No compensation or discount/credit for all the time/money/energy waisted on out part due to their negligence. If I had to do over I would have never taken it to this place!!! read more

This is my go-to place for home and car audio. I support local businesses if I can. They have put a focal system in my car, which sounds so clear and loud and amazing! I recently had a KENWOOD CarPlay Nav installed and my life got easier and safer, I no longer need to touch my phone to receive or send text messages and phone calls while driving. We started with total control in our home and ended up upgrading to savant. One app controls the home; TV, air conditioner, lights, and security camera. Sony HD4K TVs and goldenear speakers for surround sound. Maximum AV has taken care of us the past 5 years. read more

Another gem located along Dale Mabry Highway, and diagonally across the street from the Carrollwood Florida Hospital, Maximum Home Entertainment offers audio and video services for your home and auto, along with auto window tinting and security services. The name on the store says "Maximum Audio Video", and you'll usually find several cars sitting in the bays as the guys install high-end, after-market audio systems, auto security systems, and even do window tinting. Inside the store it feels like a big kids playground with incredible home theater systems. These folks installed an after-market Viper auto security system on my vehicle several years ago, and today I was browsing through the store while they replaced the battery on my remote. While waiting, they encouraged me to sit in one of the plush leather surround sound recliners and watch Iron Man 2 on a super-wide high definition television. This was a serious Holy Crap moment, and it took all over my willpower to walk out of the store without buying a new home entertainment system! They are super professional, and very helpful. I know that I'll be back when it's time to replace my current home system -- and meanwhile I'll keep bringing my autos to them for the after-market services. read more

Reading reviews it appears that Maximum is a well established and professional shop to do business with. However my interaction with Maximums GABE MARTINEZ put me off. From the moment I walked in to the store and was met by Mr. MARTINEZ and there was a strong unapproachable/standoffish feel to this young man. Like he had a chip on his shoulder. As a layman to car audio I asked questions of the young MARTINEZ about specifics as it pertained to my vehicle and what I could or could not do. In a condescending posture and undertone he proceeded to educate me via subtle insult at the age of my vehicle and the things I was asking I should or could have been done at initial purchase. And to to do it now to my model year vehicle depended in short what I wanted to spend. Mind you, MARTINEZ seemed put off either by my presence or my questions. I took a card from Mr. MARTINEZ only to make sure I wouldn't get his name wrong when documenting the aforementioned behavior/encounter. Although my experience with Maximum wasn't a pleasant one doesn't mean yours would be. However I wouldn't bring my exotic here. Maximum appears to have a laissez faire attitude, at least Mr. MARTINEZ does. AND a strong example of that is their now compliance with Hillsborough county's PPE policy. So usually I'm not writing reviews since I really don't care for spreading the word but this here is different!!!!!!!!!! I visit them to research some car stereo system. From the beginning on the sales pitch started, lowest priced radios, lowest priced radios and again lowest priced radios.... I inquired about a specific feature and I was pointed out the "most affordable radio and lowest price in the market" which led instantly to the upselling tactic and so on. The feature was never shown to me nor anything the only benefit pointed out to me that this is the lowest priced radio followed by upselling. He talked down on his co-workers and treated them with no respect when asking a question. I understand everyone has to make a living but all I can say to the employees there this is a Pyrrhic Victory guys and that's for working on the owners/president dream! When I asked him if that's the best price he said this is the absolute lowest price in the market!!!!! The quote was for approx 750 dollar. I told him that I would not buy today since I really just came to do research the attention dropped and he said he could ask his manager if I buy today. Eventually I left with an awful feeling about this store. When I got home I did some research and guess what I found the same radio for 250 dollar less all over the internet plus the employee states on Facebook to be the president of this company. So everything was a lie, Everything is a lie!!! I was ready to buy and he created an pissed of shopper with all the lies coming out of his mouth. I don't mind paying more but I need to feel good about it and this guy didn't give a sh#t about me. I see the benefit of doing business local but not like this. I had my window tinted at Maximum a few yrs.ago.on 7/17/19 I had a free touch up on my windshield.However,I come to find out that my overhead sunglass holder in my car is stripped off the tracking.I didn't see them do it but anyone can sense bad apples.Just because Audio Itch is expanding its business doesn't give rights to take out on customers period.In our business World,it's a great task for everyone to find a solution but to deliberately malfunction one's unit is evil. Last fall I spent several thousand $$ on audio and video equipment and installation. They are great to you while they want your money. Service after the fact is almost non-existent. They might be OK for window tint or less expensive items that might not require any follow-up, but stay away if you expect any type of ongoing service relationship with them. read more

I had a rear view camera installed on my Alfa 4c. MCOR in Lutz could not figure out how to install one so I went to Maximum. It took a long time and cost more than I had expected, presumably because the 4c is hard to work on, but the camera works fine and looks good. read more

What the product can do I could have paid $2000 for. They are liars and cheats, and very rude when you catch them in their lies. They also tried to tell me that the AM raido would not work in my Porsche, "aftermarket AM rarely works"??!?!?? WTF!!?!! 3M Tinting done a couple of years ago. Lifetime warranty. Both driver side and passenger side is peeling off. Glad I always keep all my receipts on everything that is done to my car. Went to have redone told can't today the guy that does tinting is out. come back tomorrow. You guessed it no guy to do the job went back 4 times!!!! still no guy. I called the 5th time was told sure bring it in by 9:00AM May 25th get it done. Again was told Nope no guy. I have been in the Automotive Aftermarket for 45 years. Good, clean installs. The guys at Maximum are professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. Naturally, they will promote the brands that they are dealers for but they are dealers to some great brands. While you wait for your install to be done, you can wait in their AWESOME home theater room sitting in a lavish recliner watching a movie on their wide screen. They could've spent all day on my truck, i didnt care. This is my first review officially and thats because I read a poor review in broken english. Its obvious if he writes that way, he talks that way. So there must of been a comunication issue between Maximum and that person. This is literally one of the WORST businesses that I have ever been to. The customer service is horrible, if even existent. The employees (at least seems to be most of them), are extremely rude, unfriendly and do not even acknowledge your existence. They give wrong information and are extremely apathetic. I've been dealing with maximum audio for several years now. I've purchased many audio components. Out of the gate some smaller purchases lead to exponentially much bigger purchases. I'm at a level of confidence and loyalty that cant be surpassed, by any audio equipment dealer in Tampa, bar none. The three people I deal with is Gabe, who's knowledge and expertise is equal or better than any audiophile I've spoken with or read. Difference is Gabe is unbiased and understands the customers needs and works with their budget. Andy the owner and Zac are on the level with their customers too. The culture is one of fairness and honesty. They carry all the quality brands. Seems to be a misconception these days regarding pricing, The PTC (Price to consumer) these bigger name stores can't alter the price. People have a misconception that bigger stores give bigger price breaks. That's mythical. I've found building a relationship with these guys make the entire process so much smoother. I'm being sincere, especially if you are planning to spend your hard earned money. Bottom line, your experience is personalized and when it comes to my high end equipment that has evolved, I don't want an 800 number to iron out any kinks that may occur. read more

I fell for it like a kid in a candy store. I didn't get it in writing and Andy the salesman truly could sell ice to an Eskimo (NOT GOOD, deceit). I walked in to buy a Golden Ear sound bar and was intimidated and convinced this was the wrong move. I was convinced to buy Paradigm discontinued center and new bookshelf speakers. The center was found in their storage room unopened and was I told it was a few years old. I asked if it was more than 2 years and was told "I think it's a little older than that". When I got home with the speaker, I found a label from 2010 on the box, hmmm. The book shelf speakers needed to be ordered. I paid for everything and got a receipt with no sale conditions. Later in the week I decided that the book shelf was not really what I wanted. I drove an hour to the store and was told only certain people could issue refunds and no one was there. I got a little upset and the support person made a comment "I don't have to do anything". I apologized and he then called Andy who later called me and told me there was a 20 percent restocking fee for something I hadn't even received and said I could trade these in for something more expensive within 6 months. My 20 percent would be $420.00 because the speakers were special order, WOW. Again, nothing in writing or even verbally communicated to me. I refused to give them $420.00 for something I didn't have and UNWANTINGLY going to keep the book shelfs if and when I get them. Their tactics are old school and arrogant and it's too bad I fell for it. Please be VERY AWARE and get it in writing or at least verbally. read more

Dreadful, awful, terrible, appalling, and any other adjective you can possibly think of that is the definition of a hideous attitude from not an employee, but the actual business owner, Andy Lehrer. Andy has the attitude of a nasty toddler. Not sure what planet he lives on where he thinks it's cool and perfectly acceptable to speak down to customers and be as rude as possible. He should realize this is not how you build relationships of any kind. The core of any business, small or large, is based mainly on the quality of customer service. He should also realize as a "business owner", the best or worst form of advertising is word of mouth and when a customer is faced with a bad experience, they either go vocal or viral...I intend to go both. read more

This is the worst stereo business I have ever dealt with. I had a simple USB adapter installed into my daughters Mercedes. The first time we had it installed half way home it stopped working. I made another appointment to go back and have it looked at and it took them over half a day to figure it out. It worked until we got home. I then called Mercedes Benz only to find out I was over charged by 500 dollars and the work that was done on the car was done by an inadequate installer at best. Waste of time and money.
