We are a whole family of snowboarders who LOVE Max's in Park City. Andy, our go to, is always willing and able to help with new gear, any snowboard fixes and all questions. This place is a true gem and if you want any snowboard related gear, go here!! I came in today with a busted binding and he quickly helped me fix it and get back on the mountain. Just incredible customer service! read more

Would not recommend--they broke my Burton boots and were jerks about it. I originally went to Burton to fix my step in bindings and mentioned that my boot BOA was jamming so it was working but a pain to get on and off. I was told the track was breaking from overtightening; they cut the cord but then couldn't fix it because they didn't have a certain tool and said to show up to Max Snowboards the next morning because the guy helping me at Burton worked there too and had the tool there. The next morning he didn't show up so someone else worked on it; I told her everything that had happened and explicitly said that the guy from the night before specifically said do not pull the whole cord out or it wouldn't go back in and the boot would be ruined--she then proceeded to try to pull it out anyway. Alarmed, I said "wait no he said it wouldn't go back in!"--to which she rolled her eyes and said condescendingly "yea well he's not here and you asked me to fix it with the tools I have that he didn't have last night". Then she told me to wait there and took the boot with her to some back area to work on it. Long story short, two hours later my boot was permanently ruined beyond repair despite having worked the day before, and the whole time they acted like it would be fixed any minute while I stood in their shop. I had to buy brand new boots from them and they only gave me a 15% discount for ruining my boots (which were less than two years old), and with the discount it still wasn't cheaper than Burton online at the end of the day because of their markups. Horrible experience, and they weren't even apologetic. read more

Maxs is great! Caleb helped get my board fixed he was very nice helpful and knowledgeable!

Honestly they have a small selection of stuff, but I think being located in the Park City village has made the staff act like stuck-up pricks. I hate to make posts like this, but feel this is the ONLY avenue to OUT bad customer service people. To be frank, the guy with long hair was cool, but the young woman brunette just has the worst attitude. She should NOT work in retail, or any other customer facing business. It is important to note that I had worked in customer retail ski and snowboard shops for nearly a decade in my teens and 20s. I understand exactly what you have to put up when working in retail--and you can always tell EXACTLY who should work in retail, and who SHOULD NOT! This young woman SHOULD NOT WORK IN RETAIL. Stay away from this place! Or if you must, be prepared for a REALLY BAD ATTITUDE from the young woman here. read more

Max Snowboards - AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE BECAUSE OF HORRENDOUS ATTITUDES!!! - Sports Wear Near Me - Park City, Utah

Excellent service and attention to detail. Every employee I interacted with was super friendly and treated you like an old friend. Very chill very knowledgeable employees. Anna helped get my board squared away. We also discussed the proper pronunciation of Chamonix. Highly recommend, this is the place to get your gear and a tuneup before you hit the slopes. read more

I went in to get my young son's snowboard mounted. They were super helpful and friendly on a busy Saturday. I had a good time chatting with them and will take all my snowboard business back to them. read more

I was told by MANY that Max Snowboards is the best in town. I asked around because my concerns were that I would just have a salesman and not a real person help me with a whole new set up. I met Josh and he guided me by carefully listening to my questions and showing me the right items for my needs through a vast selection. Meanwhile helping me, he was also able to constructively help other guests! What talent and service! Next time you go in ask for Josh! read more

Hands down, the best snowboard shop in the park city village. Staff was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming. I've been boarding for about 10 years, but had a very limited understanding about the equipment I was using - that was not an issue here. Not pretentious in any sense. They were super patient with me and would explain in detail the right bindings and board I needed based on my snowboarding skill level, style and terrain preference. They will have 100% of my business for any future Park City trips. BEWARE - they will make you play air guitar with your new board to commemorate it read more

Max Snowboards - My retired board and the new hotness - Sports Wear Near Me - Park City, Utah

Was on my way to the shop carrying one Burton boot. Andy was outside the store and approached me and asked what the problem was. I showed him a broken Boa knob and he said he might have an extra in the shop. We went in, Andy disappeared and was back in a flash with a new knob. He asked if I knew how to install. I told him I had watched some vids. He handed it to me and said it was on the house. Can't beat that! read more

I had a great experience with Brody and the guys at Max Rentals. They were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Gave me guidance and paired me with the best equipment for my skill level. Their boards, in my opinion were much better than the options at the other rentals in the area. It was a convenient and easy process. They also have everything you may need for skiing and snowboarding. Zero attitude when I was there. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them whenever I visit Park City. read more

Best place! Andy (aka Harvey) helped us out so much. He was super helpful and honest, even recommended checking other places that might have a better deal and we still ended up at Max's because they had the best deal. He got us all sorted within 10 minutes can't recommend high enough! read more

Came in looking to update my 10 year old snowboarding gear. Andy fit me with new boots and bindings, and a fantastic new board. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and positive. Looking forward to stopping in again next time I'm in town! read more

Today I was prepared to spend 500$ on a new pair of snowboard boots since I broke my pair today. The short bearded guy refused to let me try on a new pair of boots before purchasing them. shortly after he told me I should just leave. I will never step foot in this store again. 1-14-2022 440pm MT read more

I've been a long time patron to this shop. I've bought boots, boards, and gear here but for some reason this year the service has been terrible. I came in to exchange some boots that I hadn't worn yet for a smaller pair. When I told the guy at the front why I was returning them he started telling me I was wrong and that I didn't need a smaller size because only a select few riders like tighter boots and he said to my face "trust me man. You're not that guy". I've been riding close to 10 years. I think I know what I want. After I convinced him to let me try a smaller size on, he asked his manager how to do a refund and the manager explained how long and annoying the process was and dropped 2 F bombs while there were kids in the store. Very disappointed with the employees. read more

I entered the shop happy and ready to buy some boots. I left so upset and doubting all of humanity. The man "helping" me was so rude and basically aggressively verbally show'ed me off. I was prepared to spend so much money along with 2 of my friends. I have never in my life had such crappy customer service, but moreover been treated so terribly as a human. I left Max's with a sense of sadness and dread for anyone else who enters those doors. read more

Helpful, friendly, great quality equipment. Kept prices, reasonable, fair, and honest.

What an incredible shop. Max's was fully stocked with all types of snowboard, bindings, apparel, and more! Andy was by far the most knowledgeable person I've ever dealt with in snow sports. Not only did he assist me with a great set of bindings but he took his time explaining the new Solomon system. He didn't try to up-sale me only provide his professional opinion on the fastest way to get back on the mountain. I highly recommend you stop by his incredible shop. read more

This snowboard shop was amazing, all the employees were helpful and super welcoming. My board was too small for me and they offered to switch it out for one that was my size. It made my day and was honestly one of the nicest things someone has done for me! read more

Hey Mindy (If you're wondering how I know your name, well this whole town knows your name and we both know why). Next time someone rolls into the shop and tells you exactly what they want maybe don't start off with "well have you done your research?" and proceed to rattle off BS incorrect information. I wanted Union Flite Pros because they're a sick, super light-weight, and CHEAP binding. Contact Pros may be comparable, but they're not just $20 more than than the Flite Pros and it's not last seasons Flites at the $169 price point. If you want to do a little research yourself you should check out the UnionFlite Pro Snowboard Binding - 2022 on backcountry. I don't care if you "weren't trying to be rude" you were. I love Max Snowboards and all the other staff there, but you in no way represent the customer service I have come to expect. read more

Goatee guy is a dooshbag. Was about to buy goggles and he wanted to give me the ones off the display instead of new ones. Said it would be a pain in his ass. For a pair of $240 goggles. F this place and f him. read more

I came in looking for a specific binding that they carried and the staff was extremely dismissive when I asked questions. Ultimately he told me the size they had in stock wouldn't work for me - an opinion that was contradictory to every other shop I visited in the village. When I initially tried getting the employee's attention he was on his phone and I had to speak up again to get assistance. They pride themselves on being a "pro" shop and made me feel like a complete idiot for asking questions on the binding. Combining opinions I got from other shops I ended up purchasing the size binding that Max's carried from an online vendor to avoid giving them my business. On top of this my friend asked for an employee's opinion on a pair of boots to which he pompously replied "we don't carry anything not ride worthy". Overall a trash experience in the store and I will not be returning. read more

the gentleman working was actually the rudest customer service soul i have ever met (i am a fellow industry worker). came in 20 minutes before close knowing exactly what i wanted + was ready to buy but his attitude was so off putting i just put the stuff back + left. he was demeaning, condescending, and not to mention, like 40 years old with such a negative attitude? read more

Awesome snowboard shop! They specialize in snowboards. They do have a ski rental business on the side but snowboarding is their deal. Bought my son a new Gnu stick and we were helped by the owner in making the final selection. He's a walking encyclopedia of snowboarding history, board technology, board brands, etc. Big selection of top brand boards and gear. If snowboarding in Park City is your deal this is place to go. read more

I broke a Burton Prophecy toecap binding strap on the hill and stumbled into Max Snowboards looking for help. As soon as my daughter and I walked in, we were pleasantly greeted and given reassurance that it could be fixed. Wish I could remember his name but he immediately removed my binding, making sure to not change the angle settings, replaced the strap and had me check the fit. All done within 5 minutes. I was stoked to get in and out and back on the hill in no time at all. When I asked how much I owed him, he said "It's on the house today. Merry Christmas" How cool is that! They had a matching fund raiser for animals going on so I contributed to that. The shop is full of great gear and obviously a great staff that provides killer customer service. I'll be sure to check out Max Snowboards the next time I'm in Park City. read more

These guys rock. They were all about just making sure that I was going to have a good time on the mountain and helping me out. They aren't trying to upsell or make an extra buck. Bottom line, I trust them and I've been riding for over a decade. read more

Good salespeople = good riding. I worked with Andy, and he was amazing. I went in to look for a really stiff carving board, and he spent about an hour with us discussing the type of riding I do, my stance, and all of the little details to my questions. The guy really knows his stuff. We narrowed down my choices to two boards, which he unfortunately didn't have in stock. However, he went the extra mile and called a few places down in Salt Lake City to find out which shop had the two boards I wanted to look at. Indeed I found the perfect board for me, and it was absolutely because of Max's. I would highly recommend Max's. They are all about customer service. They actually help you find the exact right piece of equipment for you instead of pushing a piece of merchandise on you just to get it off their shelves and make a buck. I will always go to Max's for gear before anyone else because I know that they are thinking about how they can help me improve my performance on the slopes and have the most possible fun. read more

All the staff there are friendly and helpful. Great standards of quality and respect. As well as, great deals. I can't thank Andy enough, for making my stay in Park City. I'm a snowboarder who enjoys cruising down the slopes and relaxing. My biggest problem was getting off the lift, finding a place to fall down and strap in, flip onto my front side, then cruising down. Went into Max on a recommendation and it was the BEST thing that ever happened to my enjoyment on the slopes! Andy, the store owner, was amazing. Asked him about Burton step in bindings/boots, fitted me for a new set and out i went. LIFE CHANGING on the slopes!! Couldn't recommend Max and Andy anymore than in this review!! read more

Very good customer service. Very helpful. Andy was very engaged and was not condescending. Prices seemed normal for the area. Good job!!!

This company embodies what is so great about a small business- the ability to adapt to its customer base and provide extraordinary customer service. What started out as a not so great boot buying experience, turned into a positive learning opportunity. Due to original company policy, I was told I could not return boots that were a bad fit for me, my board and my riding style. Instead of strictly adhering to this policy, Max Snowboards allowed me to meet with the store manager, Andy, for a thorough and rather educational boot fitting. I am very happy with my purchase and also learned about the next bindings I plan to get. In a time when it is so easy to trade convenience and price by shopping online, a store that goes above and beyond for its customers truly stands out, and will win my business every time. A sincere thank you to Andy and Michelle for phenomenal customer service! read more
