40 years a skier, 40 years pain and discomfort! All this came to an immediate end today. I was fitted for my first pair of surefoot ski boots in the morning, on the slopes 90 mins later...no pain, no cold feet, & not one adjustment made the whole day. I just went skiing. This ____ really works! I had my doubts, I certainly didn't want to spend the $, it's a lot! But, the only question I have now, is why didn't I do this 20 years earlier? If you're lucky and you never have issues with your ski boots, you don't need this. But m, if your like all the rest of us who do, you should seriously consider this a must do. Skiing is fun, don't let your equipment ruin your enjoyment of that fun. Also-- Thanks to Jim for an excellent experience in the fitting. I had my previous boots for about 8 years. My feet hurt, my toes numb, cold and wet after only a couple of hours of skiing. The Surefoot appointment took an hour. I was put in the correct shell for my feet and they did the magic liner thing. Zero need to punch out the shell. I have a few days in my new ski boots. No more pain or problems from day one. What a difference. I can keep my boots on during lunch, no issues. It was expensive no doubt. But worth it for me. I will be keeping these boots for a very, very long time. read more

After years of pain I finally called it and went to get new boots fit elsewhere. Long story short -- the new fitters were shocked Surefoot ever gave me this shell to begin with. They said it's width was only enough for ~80-90% of my foot. They were also shocked there'd been almost no work done attempting to resolve it (e.g., punching the boot out to fit my foot). I don't think I've been more furious with a boot experience in my life. I feel like not only was the boot a massive misfit, but now I also feel like they didn't even take the proper steps to fix things. Each time I went in talking about the shell, they shaved down the liner a bit and told me, "the shell is fine it's got to be your stance, etc." Instead of gaslighting the guy with toenails falling off because of your boot, next time I'd love to see some real effort made in righting a severe, $1,400 wrong. (Almost $2k if you include the orthotics and heaters I added on!) This isn't how you do business, and I'm sure it's far from the vision Surefoot had in mind when the company was founded. For almost 20 years I have had issues with new ski boots. Lately they become so painful that it takes a year for them to break in to the point where I can comfortably wear them to ski. Not anymore. They have a custom methodology for boot fitting where they inject memory foam into the boot liner to ensure a perfect fit. While a little pricy, I find the expenditure very valuable and their staff expert boot fitters. Their products are warrantied for the life of the boot. read more

Yay to Shawn for going the extra mile to help a girl out! I'm looking for something specific and although Sure Foot doesnt have it, his willingness to hunt it down for me is impressive. The Park City Mountain store has been putting boots on skiers for over 20 years and although there are always new faces working there, they understand their equipment and how to help customers find a skiboot that doesnt feel like a tiny torture chamber. The place is cramped, so dont try to get fitted on a Saturday at 4. Any other time and the fitters are happy to spend hours with you. Just an FYI, if you already love your setup dont let anyone at any store convince you you wasted your money and they have a superior product that you must buy. Only you know what feels good and helps your stance; and you're the one who has to live in your boots for the next 5 years. read more

Our initial experience was challenging because we spent a lot of money and our boots didn't feel (or fit) as good as we had expected. In fact, on day 1 with new boots, we both were feeling some Buyer's remorse due to how poorly our boots were feeling. After getting past the disappointment, Steve made it very clear he would do whatever necessary to ensure we were satisfied with our new boots by the end of our trip in PC (even if that meant a refund). Mission accomplished. They changed out the boot shell on my boots and made a number of adjustments to my wife's boots and mine as well so that by day 3, we had heated ski boots that felt and functioned as desired. For over 10 years, I've had issues w new ski boots. Custom insoles, punches, nothing seemed to make it much better and I just chocked it up to getting old....numb, cold, pain, you name it. After breaking my ankle last year, I decided I would bite the bullet and get custom boots to fit around the hardware in my ankle. I called my friend that swears by Surefoot on the way there to make her tell me again they're worth the price. First hour on them I was a little panicked because my feet were going to sleep. The more I pressed my shins into the front of the boot, the better they felt and warmed to my shape. By the end of day one, I was freaking out bc my feet didn't hurt and they weren't cold...almost warm! Having the heater over my toes, rather than under is a game changer! I'm on day 17 of the season and am totally obsessed with my new boots. I love them in every condition. Not sure if it's the boots but my legs aren't as tired, even on big pow days!! Great experience, and great boots. I worked with Caleb, who I cannot recommend highly enough. He is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, really understands both the fitting process as well as matching the right boot with the skier. I expected to require a few days to break-in the boots, but they were snug and very comfortable from the first run. I had read mixed reviews online about Surefoot saying that you get more bang for your buck at a "normal" boot fitter, but gave them a shot after talking to someone who actually owns a pair and being impressed by their warranty that is valid at any location. What a difference from my stock boots with semi custom foot beds! My feet don't hurt after a hard day of skiing, I don't dread putting my boots on in the morning, and I ski better since I'm not changing my stance to avoid boot pain. As for the experience in store, Sam took the time to look over my existing shell and was willing to reuse them, but also showed my a couple other options if I wanted to go new. I went the completely new route and was happy to see there wasn't an upsell to a more expensive shell that didn't offer any benefit. The next day my wife stopped in (she was impressed by how happy I was) and they hooked her up with just custom foot beds. She will probably go the custom liner route when she needs new shells in a few years. read more

Had the best experience with Caden today! I finally got boots that feel amazing on my feet. He fitted me with new Thermic boot heater inserts and new boots. I was so apprehensive to get new boots after a really poor fitting at SureFoot at the Canyons a couple years back. My husband changed his mind a few minutes after giving them the go ahead to do a custom fit. During the 30 minutes we were there multiple people came in complaining about there boots. Seemed like a bad situation after spending 1k for boots. I'm fairly certain I forgot my helmet at the store and when I went back to get it 10 minutes later I was told it wasn't there. read more

I'm not one to write a bad review. I prefer to write a good review after having a good experience somewhere. I bought boots at Surefoot many years ago. For the first couple years, I thought that I was in pain because I was just breaking them in. That continued for several more years but I attributed it to not buckling them correctly. On my last trip, I realized that the buckles weren't supposed to need adjusting all the time (like after every run) and I soon came to realize that my boot was full of wedges and such because they initially sold me a boot that was way too wide for my narrow foot. Prior to that revelation, I went to Surefoot to have some adjustments made to those wedges (which were falling off the lining). While they did fix those wedges, they focused more on selling me new boots to the point that I felt very uncomfortable and left. In the end, I ended up buying new boots. But not from them. If Surefoot had not tried to sell me so hard, I might have gotten new boots from them anyway. I do, however, like the custom foot-beds and have them in my new boots. read more

We stopped in here because my 9-year-old's feet were killing him. The people at Surefoot were so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. They have us a temporary fix for our rental ski boots and gold is about their "room to grow" program. I can't wait until next ski season- we will definitely be back for boots that can keep our little skier going all day! read more

Disappointing experience. I've been skiing for 35 years. I went in there expecting some sort of personalization for boots. Not so much. First you have to use their insoles, which is fine. But don't lecture me about the current custom insole I have being wrong size for my foot and then produce an insole that has the exact same dimensions. They also have lots of shells up on the wall, but that doesn't matter. I tried on exactly two. A Lange and a...wider Lange...(I have a wide foot). They just seemed determined to get me into that shell even though I said several times I like a softer boot than the 120 they kept handing me. "Don't worry, this has plenty of flex for you...", they assured me even though I stressed several times about the softer flex I prefer. Then the liner was made. When we finished the liner I told them that my forefoot was getting crushed. "It's fine....your foot is warm here in the shop. Once you get on the mountain, your foot will shrink a bit due to the cold and it'll be fine." I brought up how tight the boot was across my forefoot a couple more times, but they were basically pushing me out the door since it was getting close to closing time and telling me I can always bring them back to get adjusted. I would have preferred to get them adjusted correctly the first time. Went and skied them...and, as expected, total disaster. Boot was way stiffer than I like and I literally could only make about two runs the pain in my forefoot was so bad from being crushed. So the boot wasn't even close to what I wanted (softer boot) and wasn't even close to fitting correctly (crushing my forefoot). Two things that I brought up to them during the fitting, but they didn't seem to care about at the time. Now I don't know about you but there are a finite number of ski days I have in my life and I really don't want to spend them going back and forth to a boot shop. I figure the goal would be to get them right the first time and not spend day after day going back to get them fixed. So when I went back in I told one of fitters there how disappointed I was in the boots. I'll be honest and say I was mad after driving back and forth, telling them what was wrong with the boots, spending all the money, wasting a day of skiing, and then driving back up for the exact things I told them previously I didn't like. I think the exact words I used were, "there aren't enough four letter words in the English language to describe how I feel about this experience so far." Apparently that was too much for his sensitivities... He said he wasn't there to be sworn at (even though I didn't swear at him...) and I think his words were, "we'll just send you walking on down the road". So they just gave me my money back. Which...based on how poorly they did the first time...might have been the best thing to do. But what a waste of time and effort. They claim it is custom...but from what I saw it really wasn't. It was kind of like the old Ford car statement: "you can have any color as long as it is Black". For me, it was you can have any shell you want as long as it is this Lange shell. And you can have any fit you want as long as it is the fit we tell you. Maybe that shell and fit works for somebody, but certainly didn't work for me. read more

I am and have been a professional skier my whole adult life. I am an instructor, patrolman, and guide. My boots are the most important piece of equipment, because if my feet hurt there is no way I am able to ski effectively no matter what skis or bindings I am using. For the past 20 years, plus, I have been going to Surefoot to have my boots fit right. The staff is positive, and more than helpful, and understand the needs of not only the needs of professionals, but the needs of the recreational skier as well. Steve, Barry and everyone on the staff makes boot fitting for the individual their primary goal. The great thing about Surefoot is they have the products to match the expert service. Footbeds, custom liners, boot heaters and of course a full selection of all the best boots on the market. Over the years of having my boots fit I have seen the genesis and growth of injected liners. Every year I have said to the staff that this is the best fitting boot I could have, or expect. This year my expectations were exceeded. Surefoot has found the Holy Grail to injected liners with the new memory foam liners. For years, as professionals, we have always thought we could have the perfect great fit for performance, but there were some sacrifices we might make with rigid foam. All that is in the past. Memory foam liners are in my alpine performance boots, and now in my backcountry AT boots. Zero problems. Amazing comfort, and performance actually has an uptick since my feet are happy and comfortable. This year I will spend over 100 days in my boots and I can say with certainty that I will not have boot issues. As a professional I recommend you experience and try the new memory foam liners and have these guys fit your boots right. read more

I just got back into skiing a few years ago and had been relying on out of the box Nordica boots for a few seasons. Some friends had been using Surefoot and recommended them for a tight comfortable fitting boot. Brad from Surefoot helped me find the right boot for my skiing style and their custom fit liners fit like a glove. I don't think I could ever go back to a stock boot again. Terrible customer service from Steve- insulting person. I went in with the intention to buy new boots. He was so insulting- looking at the boots I was wearing - he said "I look at people like you, wearing old equipment and wonder how you could possibly enjoy skiing." Well I have skied my entire life - own a place in PC and was wearing a Gold Ski Utah pass. I enjoy skiing! Clearly I would like new boots - that is why I was there. I have purchased several pairs of boots over the years and keep going back to my old ones for comfort. I was told to try Surefoot. However Steve was so off putting - I finally looked at him and asked why he was making this so difficult . He said " well it's free to try some on" I was so confused by his behavior - I went back later - Sean was sooo nice - I gave him a Snickers for Steve....I guess Steve had his boss in town and was crabby!!! As I shop for boots - I continue to hear stories about Steve- not so good!! read more
