Made an appointment for 3.1.2026 for a boot fitting of my own boots. I arrived 15 mins early and they were super friendly and immediately greets me and started. Jamie (sp?) was extremely knowledgable, asked me questions, measured my feet and explained exactly why I was having the issues I was having. I've been skiing for four years and every time I would get blisters on my right foot even when skiing short days. I was wearing mole skin patches and athletic tape on my feet. Jamie heated my boots, adjusted specific areas of my boot and explained why. She then instructed me to ski the next day and if I had any issues I should immediately ski in and they would make more adjustments on the spot without an appointment. AMAZINGLY my boots were forget and I've now skied three days in a row with zero blisters or sore spots on my feet. I had no idea this was possible! I've bought 3 pairs of boots from here. One for me. One for my girlfriend, and one for my cousin. They portray themselves as expert and that's how I have been swindled by them 3 different times. Yea some people would call me insane for making the same mistake 3 times. Their biggest issue is they prey on tourists and have a super passive aggressive attitude toward you after your fitting when you need edits done. We also noticed they upcharge for random adjustments during the fitting that aren't even needed. All 3 of us have gone to other boot fitters and have all bought boots for much less than bootworks and with way less adjustments needed. Came in with boots that were not snug enough - I was having a hard time getting my heels to the back of the boot and my shins against the tongue and asked if they might be salvageable. Bob told me to come back in 30 minutes and he and his team were able to see I had the right size but some pressure points were trapping my heels from moving back completely. They did not try to upsell at all but I decided to go with the custom insoles and they punched out some tight areas so my feet could position properly. Boots felt sooo much better the next and subsequent days. The guys know their stuff and saved my ski trip. read more

it's tough to believe that any store can dislike customers this much. Let me set the scene for you. Bootworks is a small shop, with 3-4 seats for fittings and two employees. Both men are sitting on stools, just killing time. No customers. Nothing else going on. I walk in to ask about boots for my wife. What's involved? When can she come? And how much does it cost? And that's when I realized I had just entered a used car emporium. Because I got short, terse answers. We fit boots (figured that from the sign, sir). Make an appointment online (because the employees are clearly very busy. Yes, sarcasm). Forget asking how much it costs - because the glib answer is "A dollar? A million dollars? Somewhere in between." Yeah, you guys are not a high end clothing store on Rodeo Avenue, so the "if you have to ask you can't afford" routine doesn't sound posh, it sounds pathetic. This place is amazing. At the top of the mountain my boot completely cracked and fell apart...like completely, not skiable. Walked in here not knowing if I wanted to buy new boots or just rent. Ryan greeted us and explained their process for sizing and fitting. He was very friendly and never pushed or pressured me into buying. He offered to get me fitted in a boot and then I could decide if I wanted to buy. He offered fantastic service and guidance to help me make a decision. After being fitted for a boot and hearing all the custom ability they have to shape the boot perfectly I did end up buying a boot. And it was best decision I made! Whether you purchase a boot or not they offer a custom fitting solution. They can heat the outer shell of boot and punch out or mold areas that may be rubbing or causing hot spots. And once you do this, you can take a few runs on the mountain see how it feels and go back as many times as you need to make it right. I have two different size feet so I was definitely going to need some tweaking. I took the boots for a couple runs and had a few places that were causing hot spots, hopped off the mountain walked into store, and Ryan adjusted in minutes. I have a very narrow foot and have had difficulty with this all my life. Long ago I was told I have designer shoe feet a la Louboutin. .. I also happen to be an athlete . Finding the proper running shoes has always been a challenge until I was gifted Adidas Ultraboosts that sort of melt into your own custom fit . For hiking I adore Salomon Speed Cross. I have been skiing for years in Atomic women's Hawx ski boots specifically designed to accommodate narrow feet , yet even with an orthotic insert I received last year and a thicker sock , were still leaving too much room around the insole leaving me fighting the mountain on the steeps, ugh. This season I decided to track down the best boot fitter in Park City where we own a second home expecting to have to shell out a significant amount of money to replace my current boots. Mike whose last name I do not know took his time carefully measuring my skinny feet and informed me that they are 85mm in width , the narrowest boot available was somewhere in the 97mm range . I was shocked to learn that there was not a boot available in my width ! I have been skiing my whole life, how did I not know this ? ! Mike removed the insoles from the shell , went in the back for a bit and returned with insoles that had been augmented with some sort of foam and placed them back inside my boots. Holy moly they have never felt more snug at any point in time, hugging my feet in a gentle yet firm caress. This personalized service cost me $19 plus the $35 reservation fee. I had expected to have to spend $400 minimum ! I have not had a chance to ski in them yet but will be back up there in about a week and expect to be very happy with my renewed control over my skis. Review for the 2022/2023 ski season - tl;dr: these guys are the boot whisperers and you get your money worth here. For context, this is only my 3rd ski season as I learned how to ski as an adult. In previous years, I had always rented boots. As such, my feet and legs had always suffered through the torture of unfitted boots (bruised shin, blackened toe nails). After a bunch of research, I decided to make an appointment to get a brand new pair of custom boots fitted here. These were the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had. At the end of the 8th day skiing, I had done 18 runs down Pay Day and King's Crown at Park City (blue runs) confidently and comfortably in 1 day. To optimize your experience, I highly recommend making an appointment since brand new bootfitting can take 1.5 hrs while adjustments can take up to 45 mins. Ernie would always ask "Did you make an appointment?" to any wanderers who came into the shop unprepared. So make an appointment. I know these guys are not messing around so I came in expecting to be all business. Honestly, they are craftmen, not snowbums who are there to be chatty. I walked in with a pair of thick ski socks since my feet were always cold, only to learn that you really need thin ski socks. So I bought a pair from their shop, but they also have a few pairs laying around for you to borrow for the fitting process. They then proceeded to measure my feet and asked about my skiing experience to pick out the right pair of boots. They quickly pointed out the places in the shell where there were pressure points (even before I told them) to "punch out". After that, you can choose custom footbed. I opted for the premium one where you stand on a heated mold to get the footbed matching your feet exactly. This was really a game changer, and made these ski boots more comfortable than my hiking shoes or day-to-day sneakers! You can also opt for a more economic generic version, which is still way more comfortable than the one that comes with your boots. To solve my always cold-feet problem, I also opted for boot heaters. I got the 13-hr one, because I can always charge it fully overnight. With the crazy powder and super cold spring this year, I'm so glad to have these smart boot heaters (you can adjust the heat level with the phone). Finally, they can check knee alignment for you. This is an interesting process that makes sure you can stand flat on your skis. Arguably, this is what really made it click for me in my progress to increase my balance on my skis and tackle the angle of the slopes. No more stopping by sitting down on my butt. After skiing in those boots for the first day, I immediately noticed a night-and-day improvement, even just walking around in them. I did have one small pressure point on my left shin, so I brought them back and got an adjustment free of charge. Absolutely perfect pair of boots now! I was skiing with my husband who got custom boots from Surefoot and his feet were always numb. He was so jealous of my boots that he abandoned his surefoot boots to get new boots made my these guys. The new boots were already night-and-day compared to the stiff foam liners made by surefoot. And just like the unconventional piece of advice about the socks, Ernie told us to not buckle the boots too tight (opposite of what the rental boots people and ski instructors always tell you!) My husband used his conventional knowledge the first few days of skiing, and felt a bit uncomfortable. Finally, he decided to listen to Ernie's advice, used the thin socks and stopped buckling his boots tightly. They became instantly comfortable and warm, and he said his form got so much better (this is the guy who had been skiing since he was 4 years old). Expect to spend $1500-$2000+ for brand new boot fitting. If you come after mid-March, you can get 30% off all boots. I can't tell you enough how great these guys are! Last season Ernie took care of me and my son (see prior review) and this season Bob helped my wife with new boots and a custom fitting. My wife had an issue with one foot being pronated, causing the ski on that foot to ride on the inside edge, making it difficult to roll that ski onto the outside edge. Bob checked her leg alignment and fitted a 1.5 degree shim to that boot, problem solved. Custom foots beds, a few punches on some pressure points on the boot shells and voila! My wife's boots are comfortable and they allow her to ski great, no more fighting that one ski to make turns. The guys at Bootworks know what they're doing and are worth every penny! read more

Trying to take my ski-game to the next level and I was referred to"Ernie" at Bootworks. As a professional golf club fitter, I know and appreciate attention to detail and having a clear process. Bootworks would exemplify that to the nth degree! Taking me through different styles and sizes of boots and loosening or tightening a few screws here and there would've been a great experience for me. Was I unprepared to be blown away... First of all, there was the description of my footbed. Jeff instantly could see the build of my foot and some of my tendencies and compensations. That directed his selection of size and style. On to custom orthotics!! Not only were they custom, I was able to get onto a medical-grade silicon platform and take a 3D image and molding of the footbed. Through the use of heat and vacuum pressure they were able to make something unique to me. Unable to be duplicated without this process! Awesome! During that process they were busy using heated water to mold the shell. Also heating to mold the liner. Heat everywhere to accelerate the fit. Finally it was onto very specific shimming to level out my joints. It was crazy how far off each side of my body was! Ended up having to have both left/right boot adjusted and then instep/outstep shimmed. Now when I flex into the boot my knees line up and there are no compensations. Crazy-custom! I ended up having pretty modest expectations. I figured it would be much less intense. But you can tell they know what they've been doing (and since 1985 in the same place!) MUST READ THIS When I was 15 I completely destroyed my lower body especially my legs and ankles, they were completely shattered and exploded out in a freak zip line accident. Doctors thought to amputate my right leg. However due to a miracle they were able to save it. So to say I have had ankle issues for the last 20 years is an understatement. I discovered Bootworks on accident, When we decided to take our children to park city for a week. I booked an appointment for my wife so we could get her new boots and to get my old boots looked at. Wow! I was blown away these guys are amazing, they hooked us up Ernie's skill and experience is astonishing. I have been skiing in an wrong size boot for over a decade. And they gave me the works. I now have the the most comfortable boots ever! they custom molded the soles. Added a 6mm heel raise and calf shims. Stretched the liner and custom molded the shell 6 times to achieve the perfect fit that is built around me. Now I can ski all day with zero pain or numbness it's insane. I had know idea this was possible for me because of all the damage my feet were subjected too. Ernie is a pro and takes his craft very seriously his shop is meticulously clean and his work shows he cares. My wife also loves her boots she had a small spot that was bothering her after the first day the next day we came back and Ernie fixed it for over an hour with no charge! I bought a "custom"fitted boot from bootworks late last season. I only had a half day to ski on them before returning to San Diego. They seemed really tight. I then researched ski boots and discorvered that Bootworks sold me a Ski boot Mondopoint size of 26.5 which equates to approx a 8.5 US mens shoe size (conversion charts readily available online). I called Bootworks and he claimed that there is NO correlation between shoes size and Mondopoint. Well, I wear a mens size 9.5 to 10. He sold me 8.5 shoe size ski Boots. I called and he said to ship him the boots and he will "stretch" them. The shell size only increases in whole numbers. So how is he going to stretch a 26.6 (8.5 mens) to a 9.5 mens without ay minimum going to a 27 ski boot size? I ended up buying new boots in Innsbruck Austria ski shop. I think they know what they are doing. I bought 27.5 mondopoint ski boots (9.5 US mens) . Alittle tight but I like them. The clerk in Austria ski shop said 26.5 size is "womens" size boots I recommend you do your research before buying new ski boots and don't TRUST the "experts" at Bootworks. I allege they sold me what they had in stock at the time knowing I was not a local resident and leaving that day. .Of course I wrote a letter to Bootworks asking for some compensation , but have not heard back from them. read more
