Max Muscle Nutrition - Health Markets Near Me - La Mirada, California

After a 13-year break I finally decided stop putting off the gym. Been out of the game so I needed help--that's where Ed from this shop comes in. Super friendly, super helpful, no pressure tactics or snarky meathead vibes, just a very knowledgeable and helpful dude. 10/10 going back for all my supplement needs. *Bonus Fact: He's right next to Gold's Gym and that's super convenient. read more

It's our go to spot for protein powder. They carry a great selection and the owner is always friendly and helpful. The pricing and selection is better than what you can get online so do yourself a favor and buy locally. read more

I recently revisited this shop to see if the same owner was still running it, and yes, he is! I've had great experiences with the owner, Ed. He's truly a Godsend. After moving out of state, getting older, and falling out of shape, I've recently started focusing on self-care again. I've visited several vitamin stores and other Max Muscle locations, but Ed is the game changer. His product knowledge, industry expertise, and understanding of your goals set him apart. Every time I see him, it's a learning experience--far beyond what I've gotten anywhere else. He's not just trying to sell you something; he genuinely cares about helping you achieve your goals. I'm really glad he's still there. I wrote this on my own with nothing to gain, just a genuine appreciation. I hope he continues in the business and helps others the way he's helped me. Check out the shop--you'll notice the difference in service and quality as I will start seeing him again. read more

had a great experience. went in on a whim since it's next to my golds and I wanted to see the stock. Very well organized, clean, and was greeted immediately. I didn't catch his name so i will call him hat guy (sorry). Gave me a quick rundown on the proteins they had, the differences, best sellers and what cooks well, what doesn't sell very well, warnings on some flavors, etc. Some people may be turned off trying to be sold to but it's their job, and he did a fine job of it. I felt well informed, comfortable, and confident in my purchase. Will be coming back again, even if just for a question. read more

I really wish I could like this place since it is right next to my gym and coffee spot. But every time I want to swing by for something it is almost always closed. If it is one person running this by themselves, I am pretty understanding but unfortunately the hours are inaccurate and attempting to come in for a week straight with no luck is a huge bummer since I do enjoy supporting small businesses over mass franchises when it comes to consumer goods. When I went in the person working I wasn't sure was the owner or an employee but I just made sure they knew I was browsing, bought my usual protein powder that I keep in hand, they of course need to update some products which I understand but after saying a verbal "no thank you" they attempted to come at it again and then goes along to mentioning another one that I did not really care for. They do also charge a 10% sales tax while the City of LM and LA County regulate 9.5% so if anyone is picky about that, you should know. (I've had people want to throw tables at me for things like that) so please be aware of that prior to shopping here (for those who have issues with that). Although their selection is decent for the space they have, I found myself gravitating towards another nutrition store in which I now love. read more

Purchased some protein at this location and noticed that they charged me 10% sales tax. Los Angeles County sales tax is 9%, but when I called, salesman Rob, informed me that it has been "10% forever." This is incorrect. I'm going to contact the Better a Business Bureau to inform them that Max Muscle is making extra money off of every purchase. It's not a lot for one person, but if they do this for everyone, I'm sure they make a nice chunk of change on top of every purchase. I will no longer be patronizing this establishment and urge you to do the same. read more

Max Muscle Nutrition - 10% sales tax charged "forever" - Health Markets Near Me - La Mirada, California

Always great service. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Always willing to help. Great selection of products!

This place is LEGIT. I have been coming here on and off (because of relocation) for 8 years. The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and they have helped me with meal plans and workout routines with no hesitation. They know their supplements very well and can recommend what you should get based upon the results you want to achieve. I have never got the feeling of them up selling me, in fact I am always asking what else can I get (its like a candy store for me). You get the "well if you want to pay more you can get abc, but xyz is cheaper and has the same results." Great job guys ED, Joaquin and Rob! read more

Great products, and Ed the owner is a great guy. My boy Rob knows what he's selling and will not up-sell you on anything. Good people selling good supplements. Keep it up fellas!!! read more

Very helpful and friendly staff. They help you build your own program. Also recommend products based on your goals, body type, etc. Also they only sell high quality products. No cheap, loaded with fillers, and other toxic crap that you find at the regular stores. Remember its your body. Why give it garbage. Give it the best you can get. read more

I used to like shopping here for my supplements, but lately when I go in, the 2 parking spaces are occupied, I'm the only person in the store, they NEVER have the products I'm looking for, and they NEVER seem to know when those products will be restocked. Additionally, they always try talking me into other products that I've been finding are discontinued the next time I visit the store. It amazes me that this place stays in business. read more

My first visit was ok. Normal sales pitch. On my next visit, I tried to return a product that made me sick. They said they couldn't do anything for me since I already opened it. They didn't even make an attempt to fix the situation by offering me an exchange or store credit. I was told to just sell it somewhere else. They lost my business forever. read more

I was in this store a few weeks ago, and will continue to shop here when I need my "supps". Talk to Ed, he'll fix you right. Very knowledgeable, and won't upsell. I know when I come to this shop, I'll get exactly what I'm looking for, and what works best for my needs. Can't say enough. Thanks Max Muscle in La Mirada for getting my supplements right. read more

I used to be impressed that the guy at the hamburger joint knew my order as soon as I drive up. Now I have to come here. I'm way more impressed that these guys know what I need. Even when someone from another store is covering, I feel comfortable and confident that I'll be well taken care of read more

Came here bought to buy a pre workout. Guy with the vneck and dyed blonde yugio haircut sold me the product. I didn't bother opening the pre workout right then and there since I would assume it hasn't been opened. Went home to use the pre workout and when I took off the lid the seal was already off! The pre workout was hard as a rock. So I go back to the store of course to exchange it for a new one. And instead of "oh wow I'm so sorry about that" the blonde said "I can't return that for you". He stated people open them all the time even in front of him and that its my fault and basically out of luck. So I'm there thinking why would he still let them be on the shelf. At that point it wasn't even worth arguing I just took the product and walked out. Cool hair guy read more

According to the FTB of California the sales tax in La Mirada is 10%. So they are charging the correct amount. I can understand the confusion when some cities only charge 9% even though they are in LA county as well. It varies by city. read more

Great shop. Clean, organized, and well kept. The guy that works there named Rob was very knowledgeable about the products at the store. He understood what I was looking for and also recommended supplements that were in my budget. Honest and helpful people here. I got results in the gym so I obviously Rob knew what was up. Stop by and try the place. read more

I used to go to Nutrition Zone because Andrew use to work there and I recently found out that he is working at the Max Muscle in La Mirada. I feel that Andrew has my best interest to recommend me the best supplements so I'll definitely start driving 30min just to get his customer service, advice on products and diet tips. The price is actually lower here than the other nutrition stores too. I would rather save $20 than get a free one time use T-shirt from other supplement stores. Definitely a good tip I learned was nothing is free we're just paying more for a supplement to over the cost of a "free cup/shirt". read more

AWSOME!!!!! First time going to the store and met Ed. Awsome guy didnt make me feel stupid nor pressured to buy anything. Answered all my question with no problems. I will return for all my supplements!!! read more

I have been coming here for about a 1.5 years when I decided that I wanted to loose weight and live a healthier life. Ed was the person that I dealt with and he was very patient and helpful. I had alot of questions and he took his time in answering them all. He even gave me directions on how to train and eat to achieve my goals. I went from 297 and currently weight 220 with a goal to gain more muscles. I have only worked with Ed so I cannot comment on anyone else that works there. I can probably save a little bit of money if I ordered supplements online.. But the support and information I get from Ed is worth the extra cost. Im a customer for life.. read more
