After it was delivered, they kept the lawnmower for several weeks. When I received a phone call I went over to the shop. The owner told me I needed a tune up. The oil was black. The filter was dirty. I tuned the lawnmower a week before I had it delivered. He marched out to the lawnmower and told me I was wrong. He took off the filter cover and it was brand new! He still argued with me and he charged me for the tune up!!! I do not know how to add a photo, but the blade is an old, used blade. It does NOT cut. I wonder if he even changed the blade!? Did they even check for damage to the engine due to the fact i ran over an object. Untrustworthy. I went back to dispute the charges. The blade is at least 3/4 rusted. He told me I was wrong. i have to mow the lawn twice. And then weed eat over the entire area. Blades of grass are sticking up randomly. he implied I was lying.

My mower was delivered by Charles four days after I paid. Everything went smoothly and it was a pleasure doing business with these folks. They were the only electric company in town that could fit me on around thanksgiving. Since then, they've replaced my breaker box and more. I've asked them tons of questions each time they come out and they NEVER try to talk me into something I don't need. In fact, they talk me out of spending money if I don't need to. A company like this is hard to find, especially when you're a single woman. You can't go wrong with Starbrite.

However, in mid December of 2016, our generator gave us an output message that the unit and battery needed service. I contacted Starbrite who advised that they would need to wait until after the holidays, i.e., January, 2017, to service the unit. I pulled our 2015 contract . . . upon which it was noted that service was due December 2, 2016. Starbrite was paid to schedule maintenance PRIOR to that date. And it was now 20 days later. So . . . even though you pay them to keep abreast of maintenance issues on your unit, you will still have to babysit them. I asked for a refund of my (paid in advance) maintenance fees on December 22, 2016. It is now January 3, 2017 and I have received no response.

The technician showed up, said he needed to order parts and we never heard from them again. They refuse to answer the phone and believe they blocked us after a while. After almost 2 months of trying to make this work, we contacted Lowes who then told us the technician filed a report saying he was unable to do the work because he claimed it was out of warranty. I am sure he got paid by Lowes for the visit, so it sounds like he is either mistaking us for someone else or... Anyway, Lowes said there is nothing we can do until we "make things right" with this company. I just called my credit card company and filed a claim thru them. So, avoid both Lowes service protection and this company. Update: called mrappliance.com who gave me an appointment immediately and repaired the appliance the same day. They are awesome. I will now update my claim with Chase Sapphire to include reimbursement for these repairs. Advice remains: avoid Lowes and all their fly-by-night repair associates.
