Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

They were able to get someone scheduled immediately for the next day! So, earlier this morning, our technician (Frank) called with a heads up for his arrival and showed up right on time. He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. At that time, they told me the work I was considering was not urgent, even though it meant I did not move forward with the project. They responded very quickly and had Alex D. at our house by 8:30 that evening, only about an hour after I contacted them. Alex was excellent. He found an issue that had somehow been missed by another HVAC company that had been performing routine annual inspections on our system. He was courteous, respectful, informative, and very genuine throughout the entire visit. He explained what he was seeing in a way that was easy to understand, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were comfortable before doing any work. We never felt pressured or like we were being sold something we did not need. Alex clearly takes pride in his work and in making sure the customer understands what is happening. After both experiences with Cronus, they have definitely earned our trust and will be the company we call moving forward.

My AC stopped blowing cold air--middle of summer, of course--so I called around to get someone to take a look. I knew my HVAC was very old (didn't know how old), so I was crossing my fingers I didn't need a full replacement. (The home was built in 1971, and I purchased in 2013.) Don was readily available and squeezed me in as the last stop on his way home (we both live in Fair Oaks). Luckily, Don was able to get me back up and running with a new capacitor for, I think, under $300--a relatively painless price. That was a huge relief, but Don let me know the system was about 16 years old. I figured I had a couple years or so before needing a full replacement. This summer--now 2020--the dreaded day came, and the AC was petering out. I didn't hesitate to call Don for help, and he was available to come out the next day. In the meantime, it seemed like the cooling came back--though maybe my imagination. When I called Don to cancel our appointment, he took some time over the phone to have me check a few things and walk through possible issues. In other words, even though he wasn't going to get any immediate business, he took the extra time to help me anyway. Sure enough, the AC completely died the next day, and I definitely needed Don to come out. No surprise, it was time to replace the entire 19-year-old HVAC. Don put the order in (for American Standard) on that Saturday and scheduled to do the whole job on Monday. (This was right in the middle of a 100+ heat wave, so the quick turnaround was much appreciated.) Don and his crew arrived around 7:30AM Monday, as promised, and everything was done by 5PM--even though he said the job may run into Tuesday. They left the house spotless, like they were never there. After testing and showing me how everything worked, he still came back for a followup a couple days later. The system runs great, and the house feels like a walk-in refrigerator when the AC is blowing. Don is punctual and will always call ahead as he's on his way and if he doesn't answer his phone, he calls back promptly. I was always informed of what was happening each step of the way. There were no hidden costs--i.e., his price is the price--even when Don came back to replace an old drain pipe, which he let me know might be the case. After working with him over time, I didn't bother contacting anyone else. If you have any HVAC needs, definitely give Don a call!

I have been really skeptical of all HVAC companies in the past 5 years. I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer. I never felt like he was up-selling me. It wasn't even a freon issue to begin with and the filter drier needed to be replaced. After another visit and a 4 hour procedure my HVAC unit has been running smoothly all Summer 2026. I will seriously only call this company from now on.
