I had previously attempted to get a restraining order against my ex twice and they were not extended, unfortunately, despite ample evidence of harassment and verbal abuse. Karen decided that because they were not extended I was a liar (the judge believed me, but felt it didn't qualify for an RO) and using an RO to gain custody (so she obviously looked at nothing I gave her including medical records, texts, etc. from during the marriage indicating I was being abused at home). My ex husband also gave her nearly FORTY nude and partially nude photographs of me that he stole from my deleted album folder. He printed 8x10 copies of these and Karen happily took them and kept them where anyone in her office could see. Despite the Lamb rule that she will remind you of constantly, this apparently did not apply to me and I had to find out about the pictures when reading her final report. I cannot even begin to explain the violation I felt. This lead to depression and anxiety, I had to take an FMLA from work. Additionally, Karen stated any accusations that I made against my ex should be strictly scrutinized because, you know, I am a liar according to Karen. These words and her report were used against me for YEARS and I had no choice but to agree to 50/50 custody with my ex husband who was essentially absent from participating in childcare duties during our entire marriage. Not only that but he (either he or someone he asked to) filed a 51A on me for neglect, which was promptly dismissed and never even investigated. But I am the liar, Karen? He has prolonged the divorce case and used litigation to abuse me further, causing our case to go to trial as well as even attempting to amend the final judgment- it has been over 4 years that he has been filing litigations against me. But I am the problem, Karen? Thankfully, our judge totally disagreed with Karen. Our judge believes that my ex is VIOLENT, ANGRY, etc. Our judge identified that I was credible in our final judgment. Our judge identified that I was the primary caregiver to our children. Additionally, because of Karen's words, my ex would spend years verbally abusing me, giving me the finger in front of our kids, making veiled threats against me, and acting aggressive and frightening, feeling very empowered by Karen. Luckily, another judge also saw through my ex husband and I was granted a 2 year RO against him due to his abuse. Karen has almost ruined my life, but I am clawing my way out and thankfully people who are better at their jobs are seeing the truth. I would not recommend Karen Stuntz in any capacity.

The GLA highly recommended that I maintain 100% custody of my children because I'm a good father and courts recognized this even with Maura's multiple failed attempts to prove I wasn't. It cost me 32k in lawyers fees and I'm assuming my ex paid the same to Maura that's why she tried to drag it out as long as possible. Maura is a very mean uncaring individual who is only out to make money and does not care what is best for the children involved. We were first-time home buyers, and as such, had questions to fully understand the (loads!) of paperwork and the process. She didn't have the patience to carefully and thoughtfully answer our questions. I get that she must answer the questions we were asking day in and day out, but it's our first time. Sure she is knowledgeable, but isn't interested in making the client feel comfortable throughout the process - she more so just wants to get the job done. Its a quick, easy buck for her. Her email etiquette isn't that great her - I found hr emails to be rude and you tell her impatient tone in answering our questions. AND, she is isn't interested in negotiating on the client's behalf to make sure they get the best possible deal; instead, she is more interested in how she is going to come off if she asks for something of the seller. None of what we were asking was crazy, but as buyers we wanted the best deal possible. I wouldn't use her again and wouldn't recommend her, unless you have a high tolerance for people being rude and condescending to you.

Knowing my ex had an abusive past and police had been involved she'd still shut the door for "privacy" when she left or let him go on the entire duration of the mediation and take over the whole time so nothing got resolved when I urged for some firmness. Also felt pushed to agree to his many demands while mine were pushed in back burner. In the end it ended up being a lot more expensive because mediator let the time run and him take his time. She then submitted notes stating agreement to things I had not agreed to and making me feel guilty for not going back. You should use a lawyer instead! They are much better at this. Her background made this seem like couple's counseling which might be good if you are both sane caring individuals who need help with communication; not dealing with someone with past domestic violence and anger issues. She has not clue of the terrible legal ramifications of her notes and actions that now I have to deal with even after the mediation failed!
