Consilium Divorce Consultations - Heidi Webb, J.D, Ed.M.

Consilium Divorce Consultations

Attorney Heidi Webb is fantastic. I looked her up after a prolonged, high conflict divorce on a…read morematter of child support, and she doesn't have that slick unapproachability of many professional family law practitioners. She was able to accommodate my schedule, and was sharp and intuitive. Unlike many people in the field, she seems genuinely interested in the emotional cost of a dissolution and seems to be mindful of that at all times. She's a veteran, and had many helpful insights for me. I only sat with her on a one-hour consultation, but it may have been the best money I've spent throughout this whole exhausting process. She was worth every penny, and didn't do anything resembling the usual family-law money grab type of thing. Sincere, informed and a true professional. I liked her immensely. One last thing that set her apart and above others I've had dealings with: She has all of the credentials (like a Harvard degree) to satisfy a person looking for that pedigree. But what I liked is she has a masters in education and I believe a background in psychology as well. The combination of these elements was incredibly comforting. I can recommend her without hesitation.

Heidi is the best! Use her…read more She is INDEPENDENT. She will not try to get you to prolong a case to make more money on fees like a lot of attorneys prosecuting a divorce will. She does not look at her customers and see dollar signs. She will also recommend the perfect attorney for you, that your spouse and attorney will respond well to, and that will not be some shady attorney that treats you like a case and not a person. The key thing about Heidi is that she can guide you through a divorce with only a few meetings, helping you along the painful path of divorce every step of the way. Listening to you, caring about your situation & issues, recommending attorneys that will work well for YOU, recommending how you should approach custody, assets, child support, alimony, etc., etc. I am so glad I decided to call her!!

Mansur Law Group - Karla M. Mansur

If you're reading this review, you and I probably had quite a bit in common at one point in life…read more If this is true, hopefully my testimony can help you with your decision making process. When I first made my decision to cut ties with my wife I met with a few different lawyers before making my final decision to go with Mansur Law. The confidence that they displayed in their ability to protect my assets and I made choosing them to represent me a no brainer. Sure enough they delivered 10 fold. Being Active Duty military, the dichotomy of my situation went from complicated to a living nightmare, fast. My spouse attempted to go after my career by means of slander and false allegations. Karla was there with me every step of the way and ensured that my career was protected along with my assets. Her emotional investment in my particular situation during some of worst days was the affirmation that I needed to know that I made the best decision when choosing someone to represent me. In the end, I was more than satisfied with the outcome and I was even more grateful for everything Karla and her team did for me. A special thanks to Meghan and Joleen for all their work for me as well. If you're on fence about choosing a lawyer just ask yourself would you bring a knife to a gun fight? With keeping my personal experience in mind, If I had equate Karla's services to a firearm, she would without a shadow of a doubt be the best weapon in the arsenal. I hope you make the right decision. Good luck

We worked with Margaret as a GAL a few years ago. At the beginning, she appeared genuinely invested…read morein helping reach an outcome that supported our child's wellbeing. However, as the case progressed, our experience became increasingly frustrating. She often seemed disorganized, and her recollection of previous conversations with us was frequently inconsistent. During meetings with my husband and me, she typically did not take notes or document what was discussed, which made it difficult to feel confident that important information was being tracked. Throughout the process, we were repeatedly asked to resend documents that had already been provided, and communication often felt scattered and unclear. Ultimately, none of the issues at the heart of our coparenting difficulties were meaningfully addressed. Instead, the lack of follow-through contributed to a dynamic where boundary-crossing behaviors continued unchecked, leaving us in a more strained situation than before her involvement. Years later, our coparenting relationship is more challenging than it has ever been, and even our child now expresses a desire to have more say in decisions because of the ongoing tension. In our personal experience, involving this GAL did not improve our situation and, unfortunately, left us feeling worse off than when we started.

People, Do not judge the quality of a lawyer by their suit. Sometimes, unfortunately, you cannot…read moreeven judge a lawyer by the recommendations they get . I was getting a divorce from a 28 years marriage, needed an attorney, was referred to one at this firm. Sarah Stuart, a beautiful woman in a really great suit. She was kind, attentive, and a great listener. The firm itself was comfortably and tastefully done up. She came with great recommendations from both men and women. When you are going through a divorce, it doesn't matter how amicable you intend to be; IT WILL STILL HURT so you need someone to protect you. During this time you are very vulnerable and you need guidance. However, your lawyer is not your friend, or your therapist. Sarah Stuart seemed to know what she was doing but after a few months, despite many discussions by phone, email, and in person, I was increasingly confused as to what was going on, what the plan was, where we were in the process, etc. I had to ask repeatedly for my monthly billing statement! My (almost ex's) attorney was walking all over us. I was not getting even a slightly clear explanation about the process. I'm a pretty smart girl, but in this I felt as stupid as a bag of hammers. The problem was that my money went in, months went by, and nothing came out. I felt unprotected, Sarah did not have my back. I was getting very scared. We had no children and neither of us were contesting the divorce, so things should not have been THAT complex. ( or maybe I am a bag of hammers) After about 6 months and $15,000. nothing was settled. After much discussion with others with friends and those who who had been through divorce, I decided to fire Ms. Stuart. You can fire your divorce lawyer but you will have to pay to get your new attorney up to speed. Also the judge may interested as to why the firing happened, so never do this lightly, but if you have a bad lawyer consider it! I called the Boston Bar association and got the name of another lawyer. He isn't my friend. He's my lawyer. I cannot explain why Ms. Stuart got such high marks by others. My new attorney made months of Sarah's work clear within a few hours. Folks, I was not taking stupid pills while I retained her, so something changed. My advice is this; you don't not have to LIKE your attorney but you do have to trust and respect them. Don't hire them on references alone, especially if the refs came from friends. You may not need what they needed. Do not go to this Firm. There are good lawyers out there. (No, I am not joking) Please take as much time as you can to find the one who will do the best job for you.
