My car died while I was driving on 10 on a road trip to Atlanta, and I managed to coast into the parking lot of the Home Depot. I walked over to the store for help, and one of the mechanics walked back over with me to take a look. Turns out it wasn't my battery that was dead, like I thought, but a belt had broken. He pulled out his flashlight and showed me everything that was wrong. While we waited for a tow truck, because my car wouldn't even start up, the staff was trying to figure out if any of them had a vehicle that could tow us over instead of us having to spend money on a tow of all of 50 yards. I told them that we were on a road trip, they pushed some non-emergency repairs back to make sure we could get on the road as fast as possible. They kept me informed every step of the way, even having me could out on the garage floor to see what work the mechanic was doing. Every single person was lovely. Called this place on a Friday to look at a tire I assumed had a nail in it. I dropped my 2019 Highlander off and an hour and a half I got a call. They stated that due to the 'age' of my tires (they are 2021yr tires) that they are starting to dry rot and due to company policy they recommend I replace them all. The next morning I woke up to a flat tire, my husband took soapy water and sprayed the tire and found where the nail was. It took no time for my husband to find it. The tire wasn't wet when I picked up my car. Makes me think they didn't even take the time to look it over. This is place just screams scammy to me. read more

I went to the Mavis on Lakeland Drive a week ago There was no one in the bays and no one waiting. I was told they could service my car in fourth five minutes When I questioned that she said they may get to it sooner. I asked for a price to rotate my tires and was told it would be over $190. I left and had it done a couple miles down Lakeland for $21 and was in and out in twenty minutes. read more

Greeted at the door by their friendly staff and quickly got me checked in. The issue was diagnosed quickly and with such courtesy and care. I'm sad that I do not live in state as this business would be my go to for sure! The staff was top notch amazing and humble. I went to have a tire change, but there was nothing good about this place. From the onset is was pretty bad. The lack of professional humans weren't there. I waited in the TV room. I asked one of the girls to show me how to turn it on. She never came in the room.(Not too important) Amber was the manager and was assisting me. She gave me the bill, and I was charged for an extended warranty on the tire. Hmmm aren't they supposed to ask that?! Be careful this place is fraudulent. I got into the car and it was shaking horribly! The tire light came on. I took my car to another mechanic, and Mavis had lost my wheel lock. I called her and was told that it was in door. Well, we looked everywhere and it was mysteriously lost I merged the calls with my mechanic and he told her that he looked anywhere. He said it had to be there, as this was the only stop I made. FYI... if you see any reviews over a year old then disregard them. For about a year, or maybe a little less than that, Tire Engineers merged with Mavis Tire. Service and customer care is horrible now. I came since they still honor my alignment and balance package, but will not be going back. Amenities and customer service that used to make me love going to Upton Tire went downhill when TE bought them, and now with the merger it is even worse. 1. The inside is stripped. No coffee, a broken computer, the fridge that used to have items is now off and moldy 2. For the first time ever I was told I align my truck too much. I do it every 5,000 to 6,000 miles and in Jackson that is needed. 3. Find somewhere else to go. read more

We have a Range Rover I understand they are hard to work on so let me start with that. We took ours in for brakes. What should have been a two day job turned on to a five day fiasco. I also understand that things happen that are out of the shops control but anything would happen and four hours would pass without word until they would call with news that would start everything all over. No lug nut key four hours later still cant find it we go to find it they say they will get one from the dealership. (Because they replaced the tires last and were the ones who lost it) One day gone Did not hear from them again until noon next day. Got the tires off but we found the problem it will be 1000 more dollars We do not do warranty work. Ok put it back together quick so I can get it somewhere else and not waste another day. This was at noon. He stated he would call me back in 45 minutes. He called me back at 6 pm Another day gone. So had to wait to the next day to get it towed to the next shop. Like I said I understand that things happen but wasting peoples time is not ok. read more

Made appointment for 2:30 Wednesday 7/22/20 to buy new set of tires confirmed in stock. I was told it would take about an hour. After arriving on time, I'm currently waiting for over an hour and a half (4:10) without my car even being taken back. Two bays are now empty, and my only promise is that I'm after "the next couple." The lady at the counter is nice enough, but why book an appointment if it doesn't even matter. Guy ahead of me with 2:30 appointment had to just take his car away early and pick up his kids. Update ~4:30: Manager just walked up to me and offered free oil change and knocked about $40 from my total bill for 4 new tires. I took back a few negative points of this review. Never been compensated for waiting longer at Walmart or Sam's while they try to find tires they said they had or arrived via order days before. Update 5:00 Walking around outside due to frustration , I heard the counter lady call, "Larry!" After a few moments, the last person to drive in (below), said "she's talking to you " to me. I told her my name wasn't Larry, so she asked what it was. After telling her this and reminding her of the appointment time and purpose of service, she noted I would be done soon. Update 5:30: Everyone else had their cars completed except guy who arrived 20 minutes ago. I noticed guy working on my car moving slowly, walking back and forth, and even dropped his drill at least once. He ducked behind a post to dip tobacco once for an extended time. He almost lowered my car on another worker who walked to the tool chest. All the people at the desk could say was say sorry - manager seemed to have sincere regret. Counter lady just seemed miffed that she couldn't immediately find me while I was in the restroom to let me know the car wasn't ready. I didn't note careful computer alignment being done, but at least the tires didn't fall off. read more

My husband a quote for four new Kelly tires, mounting and balancing so he made an appointment. When I arrived for the appointment, they tried to send me to the next town, saying it wasn't with them. When given the order number, they took my car in. They gave me a total about $40 more than they quoted my husband and claimed they didn't have taxes on his quote. When they finished my car, I turned the key on and saw a tire pressure alarm. Went back in and told them about it but was told it would go off after driving it. I drove it for several miles and it did not go off. Took the car back and told them I didn't appreciate being jerked around and they needed to check the pressures. The guy got in my car, turned it on and off several times, got under the dash looking for something, fiddled with the settings, drove it off a while, and brought it back and checked the pressure in the tires like I had asked. The alarm went off after he added air to the tires. I took it home and checked the pressure: 42, 40, 38 and 32 psi in the tires. My husband also noted that the tires were not Kelly tires as he had been quoted, but much cheaper ones and they looked old and dirty. I have never had a good experience here and my husband now sees why I don't like to do business with them. read more

Apparently, appointments don't matter. Had a terrible experience here recently! Had an appointment for a new set of tires at 9:30 am and didn't leave until 1:45. On a week day, this should not have been an issue. I made the appointment 5 days earlier online, picked out the specific tires and everything. I get there and 2 hours after my appointment they tell me they only have 3 of the tires. If they had let me know I could have picked a similar tire where they had all 4 just to save time- it doesn't matter all that much. The Mavis Tire Engineers inventory system and management is piss poor. They had several times to verify the order- when I placed the order and either the day before my appointment or the morning of. NOT after you've put 3 of the tires on my car and I had no choice. So they tell me another store is bringing the tire and I wait another hour before I start getting angry and confrontational. Turns out the other store was NOT bringing the tire and the employee had to go and get the tire. I missed another appointment I had at 1:30 for this? No discount was offered, no bottle of water was offered, no snack was offered. Like another reviewer, I had been coming to this location since it was called Upton. I purposely passed over the Brandon location because I used to come to Flowood when I lived closer to this one. I should have just gone with Sam's club or even walmart. We literally have SO many options for tires. Standard, run of the mill apology is not accepted! Not when I'm spending hundreds of dollars. DO NOT COME HERE. read more

Big thumbs down for Upton Tire Pros in Flowood I made an appointment online for 11:30 a.m. and included information about the repair. I thought making an appointment would save me time. I arrived on time, turned my keys over to the employee, and waited. By 12:45, my vehicle hadn't even been bought into the work area; it was still parked where I had left it at 11:25. I asked for my keys and left. Since they didn't get the vehicle into the garage, they couldn't charge me $99 to tell me why my "service engine" light was on. Just as well. read more

I have been taking all 4 of my vehicles to this location long before it was Mavis Discount Tire. I have purchased all of my tires here and have used them for routine maintenance for years. On Saturday, May 4th, 2019, I took my daughter's vehicle in for an oil change, tire rotate/balance and alignment (I have a lifetime rotate/balance and alignment plan). I dropped the vehicle off and was called and told that they had found an oil leak, I needed a new battery and new windshield wipers. I had to throw the BS flag as I had just replaced her wipers, when I told her that, she said "oh, this must just be based on the vehicle mileage." When I said I think that battery is less than 2 years old so is under warranty she said that she would give me a discount on the battery and fix the oil leak for free id I'd but it there. When I went in to pick up the car, she said they also had to replace the cabin air filter. What should have been a $40 visit ended up costing me $181. When I asked about the oil leak, she said "oh, it was nothing serious, we fixed it" when I asked where it was she said she'd have to talk to the technician and he had left for the day. When I got home I decided to check the cabin filter, and it had not been changed. It's my fault for not checking those things before I left but I will never spend another penny at that place. I'm sure they are doing that to everyone that they can, I doubt I'm the only one they try that with. Had I not have called them on the wipers, no telling what they would have "found" and charged me for. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. Since it became Mavis Tire they have become a business I would not trust. I have written a letter to Mavis to complain. read more
