Absolutely horrible service. I called yesterday because one of my tires went flat. I told them the size I needed, they said they could get it in today and get it fixed. I confirmed that they could do it today several times, because I am working tomorrow and would need to go elsewhere if they couldn't do it today. He said absolutely, they would get it done today. I received a call today around noon saying it wouldn't be in until tomorrow. He said they didn't have anything in that size in all of Rochester. And now it's too late for everywhere else I've called to get that tire in and no one seems to have it in stock. They lied to me and completely screwed me over. I will never go to any Mavis ever again. read more

I called to see if they were too busy to do an oil change. He said come right in we'll do it right away. When I got there, I could tell immediately that things have improved greatly from the way they were a couple years ago when I got tires there. The guy at the desk was fast & helpful, by the time I got to the waiting area, I could see the mechanic was already driving my vehicle into the bay. I just came from here. I was quoted $760 for some tires, and when I went in the guy was quoting me $250 more. When I explained that that was not what I was told, he did not want to hear it, he was a total a****** about it. He was sure that if he could show me the math of it, I would understand, which was incredibly condescending. He was flat out rude and just lost all of my business (as this was my closest Mavis shop). I will never shop here again. read more

My husband took his car here for nothing but an inspection. His car is not even a year old and has been running great. Someone called my husband and told him it wouldn't pass inspection because the rear rotar had a groove in it and the shocks were leaking. We were quoted $650 bucks for the job to be fixed. The guy kept making it seem like this was a great deal, with a ton of "coupons" applied, but being suspicious, we told them we wanted to take care of the work ourselves. At that moment, the guy changed gears and said that if we took our car elsewhere they might not find the issues like Mavis did. Lo and behold, we took our car to the dealer and found out someone at Mavis had sprayed WD40 on the shocks to make it look like they were leaking and that the rotar had the tiniest groove in it from what looked like a piece of rock salt. In other words, zero work needed to be done on our car and we passed inspection with flying colors. Mavis in Webster is a complete and utter scam and it's really disheartening to think that many people will trust their word and spend hundreds of dollars on fake or unnecessary work for their vehicles. read more

In August 2018, I purchased a used vehicle, and immediately noticed the car pulled to the Right. I took the car to my regular repair shop ( #1 ), but they could Not replicate the problem---yet---the car STILL pulled to the Right. I drove that way thinking MAYBE it's because of the curve of the road to dispel rainwater quickly. Winter was approaching, so I ordered a complete set of 4 winter tires/rims from TIRERACK & had them installed by my regular mechanic ( # 1 ). Immediately, not only did the car pull WORSE to the right, but the steering wheel shook over 65 mph ( 10/9/18 ). Since they didn't think the car pulled to the right & laughed at me for going TIRERACK, I took my car to MAVIS ( 10/11/18 ) to see if the alignment was bad. They looked over the car and in less than 15--20 minutes concluded there was NOTHING amiss, & ALL SPECS were right on the money. I was confused, because there was definitely a problem---but NOBODY could feel it but me. I did give MAVIS a 'five star' review because they COULD have told me all kinds of things needed replacement ( idler arms, ball joints, struts, etc., but didn't ). However, they charged me $75 for an alignment they didn't do. I paid, thinking perhaps it was Fair. I finally went to another repair shop ( # 2--10/26/18 ) & they RE-balanced the front tires/rims, noting they didn't think they were Too far off...yet, it fixed the problem of steering wheel shake over 65 mph---BUT Not the pulling to the right ( TIRERACK reimbursed me for the RE-balance ). I showed the # 2 repair shop the spec sheet from MAVIS showing they did Not see a need for alignment. I was told, perhaps because the winter tires had such an aggressive tread, it was making it 'feel' like out of alignment---& to WAIT until the summer tires are Back on---if the problem is still present. SO three shops couldn't feel what I was feeling & I was at a Loss over what to do. Since MAVIS was the Only one who had the car on a Rack--I felt silly going BACK there to complain about an issue, especially since their numbers couldn't affirm a distinct issue. SO today ( 5/24/19 ) I put the summer tires/rims back on, making sure the fronts were RE-balanced---and the car STILL pulled to the Right. Today's particular mechanic ( # 2 shop from above ) definitely concluded the car NEEDS an alignment. I went BACK to MAVIS and no one there was familiar---all new people---so I knew I was in trouble. I explained the above, so they put the car UP on a ramp ( not a regular four arm lift ) & concluded it's a BAD LOWER BALL JOINT causing the pulling to the Right ( how they could tell with the car sitting on a Ramp I don't know ). The car has Only been driven 400 miles since they said the car DID NOT need an alignment, & I asked WHY they didn't diagnose the ball joint Originally. They shook their heads, saying they weren't at the shop seven (7) months ago. I said it CAN'T be a bad ball joint because TWO different shops would have Told me--they passed the front suspension explicitly. I was then told if I have the ball joint fixed, either by MAVIS or another---they will align the car for FREE. Then they laughed, saying WHY did I pay $75, originally, for an alignment I was NOT given...I said YES, correct, so why can't you give me Back my money NOW ??? The manager won't be back until after the Holiday (5/29/19 ), & was told to return in 5 days---but given the time lapse & because I did Not IMMEDIATELY RETURN on 10/11/18 ---I probably have NO CHANCE for settlement. My regular mechanic ( # 2 ) asked if they SHOWED me the ball joint was, indeed, bad---I said NO---and they replied, let them actually provide visual proof...because there is NOTHING wrong with it. Since MAVIS had the car UP in the alignment rack, today, & couldn't quickly give me a repair they SHOULD have done correctly @ 10/11/18---is beyond me. A WHOLE boatload of incompetence from MAVIS to begin with, & then a new set of techs trying to INVENT needless repairs ( what I originally Praised them on for NOT doing !! ), yet are resorting to NOW. Wish me good fortune, because everyone is LAUGHING at me for trying MAVIS---seems everybody already KNOWS they cheat & swindle & LIE...and I should've known better, myself, actually. STAY AWAY from these places, people---NOTHING but frustration & they will milk you dry !! But they know the world is Full of suckers, & I definitely have fallen victim once again...So if you see my 5 star review from the past, please disregard, I can't find where I placed it...AND I will change THIS review if they actually give me what I originally paid for. read more
