I made the appointment on line for 9:00 am. I got the confirmation on the same site, so I proceeded to the location. When I arrived, the service writer said that my appointment was not in the system. However, he did put me in, and the service was performed within 20 minutes. Two hours later, I got the e-mail confirmation that my appointment was set. So, all-in-all, the people at the Chili Ave Mavis were great, but the on-line reservation system could improve. read more

Stay away from this business!! My 22 year old son took his Chevy Impala to have a wheel alignment. He setup an appointment and dropped off his car. They called him back stating they couldn't do the alignment without doing the inner and outer tie rods!! ($1500!) We just took it into Carpenters Garage and they stated the tie rods are great!! That's why we don't take our vehicles to the Big Box Garage's (Mavis and Monro) They try to upsell you when you don't need it!!! We have all our work done at Carpenters Garage on Chili Ave!! They just don't do alignments. Honest and fair!! Forget U Mavis!! read more

Sorry I'm not coming back here again. No communication, say they are shorthand but more workers than cars here. A 20 minute tire plug taking hours. read more

Went in for a break check and oil change. They checked the breaks, and decided they needed to replace the power brake booster. Charged me up the wazoo, and attempted to rob me another $200 for the part. Thankfully I got it at Bob Johnson. Well, it didn't fix the problem. So when I went back, turned into a Karen/Incredible Hulk hybrid, and they messed around and guessed that maybe it was the master cylinder. WRONG. Now they're replacing the proportionate valve. Hopefully that fixes it. This place is full of incompetent jabronis. Bunch of hacks, especially the manager Adam, who basically mocked me and showed zero empathy. Update: they never ended up fixing anything. The check engine light is now on (wasn't before). Seriously, they're a bunch of clowns. read more

Mavis Discount Tire - Hopefully they "brake" even. Illiterate marks. - Tires Near Me - Rochester, New York

2+ hours after my appointment time , I'm still waiting for them to get to me. I've sat here and watched them take smoke breaks and play on phones more than work. First and LAST time I spend my money at Mavis read more

Made an appointment for service ahead of time. Showed up and waited over an hour and still no sign that they were going to bring my vehicle into the bay to even start. While I was there other customers were complaining about how slow service is at this location. read more

I had 4 tires installed and a front end alignment. They had my van for 7 hours. When I picked it up there were no valve stem caps and my center caps were missing. The tech tried to hand me the parts! I instructed him to put them back on. As soon as I started driving I noticed that I could hardly keep it between the lines and my steering wheel was off center to the left a lot. I took it to another shop to get it properly aligned. Also none of tires were balanced correctly. They just added more weights to the wheels! I had to remove all the weights and balance them at a friends shop. A couple of days later I noticed that my rocker panels were crushed. These morons put the lift cups under the body instead of the frame!!!! It took me 3 weeks of constant calls to get someone to authorize the repair quotes. It cost $3363.00 to have the body damage repaired and repainted! I will never use this business again, and hope that anyone reading this will do the same! read more

Honestly never had better help than from Mavis chili ave.. Stephen was so knowledgeable and took care of mine and my daughters vehicles. Everything was done the same day. Absolutely reasonable prices and will continue taking all my vehicles there, as well as referring my friends and family. read more

The mechanics are clearly NOT trained and used the wrong size socket while removing my tires for replacement. 16 of 20 were stripped and they said it was previous damage. The manager immediately got upset with me when I asked for the damaged lug nuts back. They refused to return the damaged nuts, then told me they were lost, then found 8 of them with the damage obviously caused by them. They ALL smoke in their shop and the inside of my car reeked. I had to take it to be cleaned at Delta Sonic. I'd choose anyone else over them. read more

Squeezed me in for a tire issue. Found issue promptly and got me in and out on my lunch hr.

Once again. . . don't recommend. im stuck with them now cuz the regional customer service guy sucks. Just got done waiting 3 hours for a tire rotation. I had a scheduled appointment, i was 15 minutes early. when i brought it in i asked how long will it be. "Oh wont be long. " 3 hours later. . . why did it take so long? "Im short staffed" Im thinking why didnt you tell me that 3 hrs ago. steer clear, read more

These folks were incredibly friendly and kind. Most incredibly, they didn't charge me after they figured out there was too much air in my tires, causing the light to go on. I appreciate their honesty. Even if we'd needed a more drastic repair I'd trust them to do a good job. read more

The staff at the Chili store were so amazing!! They explained to me what needed to be done and they got the parts for my vehicle so fast!! Finished work on my Truck quickly and efficiently!! read more

I've been using Mavis Tire since they opened in Chili, for tires, brakes, exhaust, and suspension since they opened, and couldn't be happier with the service. The manager and everyone I've dealt with has been great. It's hard to find good service these days, but I've found the place for me. John O'Neill read more

Mavis discount tire has very low technique to change the tire. The tire that they changed was leaked all the time. After I found it leaking in one month and I looked over the tire that there is no anything poke on the tire. I pump the tire with high pressure. It can be last one day. I ask Mavis Discount Tire to repair it. They said that there is a crew poke on the tire. They asked me to pay $58 to replace it. They replaced a used tire for me. I suggest that customers never trust Mavis Discount tire. They are cheating all the time. read more

The management and Staff at the Irondequoit Store on East Ridge Road were awesome. They fit me in, took a look at some exhaust work another mechanic's business did (which was done poorly and didn't help the issue at all), and saved me a 1/3 of the cost the precious mechanics was going to charge me again. The shop was friendly and knowledgeable. read more

Had 2 tires installed. Appointment was at 10 and didn't get the car back till 1. What is the point in making an appointment. Had a flat tire within 12 hours. They "fixed" it. Less than 12 hours later low tire pressure so filled the tire. Less than 12 hours later another flat tire. These are brand new tires with brand new valve stems. read more

Absolutely horrible first and last time experience! Dropped truck off at 10:15 for a 11:00 appt.,(oil change and tire rotation). Told them I need it back by 1:00, Manager said it will be an hour! Called at 1:15 said it will be 30min, 3:00 showed up and truck still not done. Absolutely joke and worst service ever! Will NEVER be back!! Wish it had. Negative star rating! read more

Talked to customer service. They stand behind their original response of giving no compensation for time lost to fix their mistake or compensation to deliver goods at the time service was ordered/completed. They replaced the tire a month later, but it does not change the fact that I was driving on the road unsafely for over a month with no contact from the company saying they only replaced three of the tires. Wanted to settle this without having to go through official channels. Will be filing a Vehicle Safety Complaint form with the DMV as well as a report to the Consumer Frauds Bureau. read more

I was in a bind and needed service immediately. Everyone at Mavis was fantastic! Deeply grateful. I highly recommend Mavis.

Took 3 times to get two tires installed. Be ready to wait a long time.they dont move fast there. dont make appt it is first come first serve even with a apptment . Corporate needs to wake up and oversee there employees more. Tech didnt know how to put proper air pressure in my tires. And two weeks have gone bye both tires laek air . also brought another car for two leaky tires and they still leak. Even the regional supervisoer is a smartass. Starts his conversation with those tires are still leaking. what a ass.Do yourself a favor shop elsewhere they dont care. read more

Purchased set of snow tires at this location 2015. Normal tire change charges since that time was $9.99/tire, total price for work performed, $40. Had performed seasonal change over on 4/25, was given a bill for $72. Brought to their attention previous charges and they reduced the price to $56. Also, had appointment set for 2:15, work started at 3:00, all bays were open for 25 minutes before they started doing the tire change. Finished change over after 4PM. While removing tires, saw some activity which I investigated and found that they had stripped one of the log nut studs and had to re- thread it? Extremely poor customer service, rude, and an obvious don't care attitude. Since there is a new Monroe Tire shop in Chili, will address them for tire and other repair needs. Mavis was great to work with when new, not any more. read more

I set up an appointment online. I showed up at my appointment time and was told it would take a couple of hours. My car sat for an hour and a half before it was taken in. The job took almost three hours and they charged me for valve stems that they never replaced. I can't even be sure that they balanced the tires after they were installed. Not trustworthy! Don't go here if you expect honest work to be done. I'm extremely disappointed in the service that I recieved here. Beware! read more

Without giving all of the boring details, I will say this about this location. Steve the manager is outstanding. I had a problem with a service I had done there a few months ago, but he took the time to make it right. He was in constant communication with me and really cared about my issue and saw it through till the end- even while he was on vacation! I will continue to be a loyal customer as I have been for many years. I think with the right training and support the staff will get to where they need to be as far as customer service goes. read more

Horrible Service. Not sure how this place stays in business. Took 5 hours to put 2 snow tires on and then they told me I should have the wheels Aligned. Sure I will wait another 2 hours in your screwed up Tire Shop. The next week I had 2 flat tires with screws in each. I am sure they put these screws in my old tires that I left on the car. Manager and employees rude. Took to Toyota Dealership and they believed that screws were put into the tires intentionally. Sick evil lazy workers. Do not do business here. If you do you will be sorry. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Asked the man how long 6 times for him to ignore me finally says yea it will be done in 20 Min or so. Then other guy in there thts working saying it should be illegal to work on weekends and that he's got 3 licence and he can only use one here.. worst mavis I have ever been too. Hopefully everything gets done what we asks then to do. Or I'll be back writing more on here smh. read more

I got the wrong tires put on my vehicle, I was a new car owner and made the mistake of trusting that they knew what they were doing, after needing new brakes, three new rotors, and two new calipers the cause was finally discovered the tires being too big, and my car attempting to compensate. My speedometer has been a mile or two off the whole time, here I was thinking Google was wrong, but it was my car that was wrong. At least they gave me new tires unfortunately I still had to pay for the balancing and alignment. At least I know I need to do more homework before I pick a garage or get work done again. Side note they take forever, both times I waited 3 plus hours. read more

Would prefer to give a 0. Left car there for five hours after making an appointment for 9am. At 2 pm car was not even brought in. I took my car elsewhere to get the four tires I needed. Service was a joke. Took nearly twenty minutes to drop off key bc desk people were arguing with someone i the phone about their lack of communication concerning the fact that the service was extremely slow. During my multiple calls to the location Ben informed me that although I made an appointment the week prior they only accept RESERVATIONS. He stated it was typical for them to make thirty "reservations" for 9am. What a joke! How does this place stay in business. read more

I had a new battery put in, they didn't clean the cables and the car wouldn't start after after a day. 6 months later...battery died again. They claimed cables put on loose...they put them on. The 1st time I went to get tires for my wife we had many problems with pulling to the right after an alignment. They refunded our money and eventually took it to our mechanic, who was able to align it properly. I had a flat tire and figured I would give it another shot as it was during Mavis opening month. The manager was incompetent and quickly knew I made a mistake and left. Recently the u joint went on the car and our mechanic said the tires are shot and said, didn't we go through this last year? Of course the tires are within warranty, but when called they berratrd my wife saying you have to pay something and they need proof of rotating tires every 3000 miles. So, there will be no tire partial refund. Just know this going in. The 1 star isn't for us being "out-of-compliance" with warranty. It is for the bad customer service, lack of empathy, and the fact my wife knows all about a workers child support payments going up during the call ( so unprofessional). The employees just work there and don't own, so they can't be trusted to do quality work. You could of had my business for 30 years, now we will never give you a dime again. read more

Do not go to them. They lie about appointments. I had an appointment last week. Sat there for 1.5 hours before they told me that they didn't have my tires. Told me to come back at 8 today. If I could I would give this place a 0. Like working with the 3 Stooges. Had appointment at 1PM and they did not finish putting snow tires on til 4:40PM. Asked so many times when they would finish and got the run around. Car on lift for 3 hours. Got home and next day and a flat tire. What a coincidence?? Decided never to go back here again. Total clowns. Wasted my time. 2 tires had screws in them. They put screws in my tires as well. How nice Then I had to get a flat tire fixed and more time wasted. Went to Goodyear Garage this time. Goodyear found screws in the back tires as well. They told it should take no longer than 1 hour to put on 4 snow tires. Customer came in to Mavis that day at 4PM and wanted to pick up his car that he dropped off at 8AM. He was told they needed 2 more hours. He was mad as hell. So many better places that care about customers. No need to go here again. They will put themselves out of business soon. Moe, Larry and Curly performing for you daily at Mavis. You have been warned. They do not care. read more
