If I could give no stars I would!! I posted two days ago about the horrible service I received going to this place but today I saw damage was done to my car!! When I needed to go to the trunk of my car to get my brush to clean off today's snow I noticed the brush was askew and in a different position. Then I saw the upholstery on the side of my trunk was gouged with two long scratches!!!!!! On the day of service I saw the mechanic open my trunk so I know it was him who must have moved my snow brush and then carelessly placed it back in my car. I made an appointment for 10:00 am. it's 11:38 and my car still hasn't been taken. supposedly someone called out. 5 guys are standing in the back. one is working. one is in training, can't rotate tires. 2 are managers. they apparently get paid for standing around looking at their cell phone. at no time did anyone come and tell me that there would be a delay. I told them at the checkout that my cars door light are not working and he said I will take a look. and he did, it was a minor issue but he fixed without charging. I needed to fill air in one of my tires but had difficulty because my hubcap was weird. I walked in and asked for help and the gentleman in front said he will get someone to help me. Nick came outside and helped fill my tire and proceeded to check all of my tires to make sure I left safely. Bought new tires and had wheel alignment. Was worried about these chain tire stores that always pressure you for an upsell like tire warranties and unnecessary work. Did not have any problems at Mavis as tires come warrantied not like the other chain tire stores. Staff was courteous and place was tidy. Solid experience at Mavis, I scored $54 Goodyear Wrangler tires for my daughters Jeep on Walmart.com in Black Friday. Unfortunately Walmart is so backed up and short staffed that it would take weeks to install the tires. Calling around it seemed that Mavis had the best price on Mounting and balancing. Mavis is open on Sundays at 9 which is a huge plus and they honor appointments which is great since I was one of 4 ready to bombard the counter at 9 on the nose. Installation was fairly simple. I don't know if I would trust Mavis with anything more than tire work but it was done at a reasonable cost. read more

I made a 2pm Monday 8/8 appointment for which I was told I would be in and out within an hour by the manager on staff on Saturday 8/6/22 as they were too busy to take me then. He said I would be able to get a leak in my tire fixed on my 1 hour lunch break. Well I've been here 1 hour now, it is 3pm on 8/8 and they haven't even looked at my car yet. I first of all dropped my car off on Saturday morning they called my husband's phone instead of mine, and told him there was problem with the sensor, when I called back it was changed to my back brakes were two hard stops from metal on metal, first off the odds of back brakes and not the front brakes having issues first is slim, and then less than a month ago my car was at ford and brakes were checked and were fine, then when i told them I would have to call back the guy seemed annoyed with me , I called back and they went back to it being the sensor on my back tire was not reading at all and it won't read until I fix it , so amazingly I picked up my car ,and all my sensors were reading zero but then they all started showing up all 4 interesting since he said that won't read at all, again think its just away to sell me something else, as before I brought it in and now its still reading perfectly fine, then I get an email after service that says I declined an alignment and road side assistance was never asked about either, then yesterday I receive a missed appointment email makes no sense, and I was never given the paperwork for my mail in rebate either annoyed customer Jackie K read more

I went to Mavis for tires and I was told that I need brakes and rotors, I wasn't prepared to hear that but Fady at Mavis helped me understand what I was getting done and made sure that I was getting my car back on the road in the safest manner. I also had an annoying issue with my windshield fluid hose and he went the extra mile to show me what piece I should order from Amazon and when it came in I took the car back and he installed it for me. Went to Marlboro location since the Old Bridge location forgot to tighten the lug nuts on my tire after they fixed my flat. My tire almost fell off on Rt 9. I furiously called them and they came out to tighten the lug nuts immediately. I had a starter and new battery put in and a few days later the car would not start. I took it ba k to them a d said car starts sporadically. They said it was fine, there was nothing they could find. I took it to another mechanic who trouble shooted the problem and after about 2 hours he discovered my battery terminals were not tightened and there was a loose ground wire under the starter's protective plate that was also loose. The mechanic supposedly was an experienced Hyundai mechanic. Well this cost an additional $236.00. I went back to complain and the only response I got was "well he doesn't work here any more. No discount, nothing. Now still being a glutton for punishment, I had two slow leaking tires, (that they had originally plugged) go bad on a weekend. I bought two new tires and came back a few weeks later and bought two more. I went to my mechanuc for some front end work and it turns out, NONE of the tires were balanced. I PAID FOR BALANCING. More importantly - negligent. Was told needed break pads only, when rotors were needed too. Was told all installed, when a negligence showed its 2nd sign - only front was installed. And my kids were in the car ... Was told all tested and verified (3rd trip) - only to leave their lot with screeching sound. Was told will get a refund if I reinstall at a daership, only to get a partial refund and chased for 2 months with no success, with weekly stories why it wasn't sent. Overall: this business obviously doesn't care about customers. You may save a buck - but I promise you you will pay in a longer term. Stay away ... zero stars. I am very disappointed with this store. I have had to bring my car back several times for different issues with the brakes. Last time they replaced the brakes they were shreaking within 2 days. After having to wait for them to repair this, the brakes are still making the same noise. What's worse, I am a share driver and have to try to explain this to my customers. They have also been dishonest with me on different occasions. There is an older guy named Bob who is professional. But if he is out things never turn out well. I was driving in for the Thanksgiving holiday, and got an unrepairable nail in one of my Subaru tires on the way from Western PA. The morning after I arrived, I found that Mavis was the closest tire shop to where I was staying, and their website showed the exact tire that I needed. I called this location to check if they had 4 of the tires in stock (since my car is all-wheel-drive). Fortunately they did, and they were fairly priced. I was able to drop off my car immediately after getting off the phone, and it was finished about 4 hours later, as promised. Mavis was able to conveniently bail me out of trouble! read more

Had to get new brake pads, new rotors, and a brake fluid exchange. With their special online, they said that the new brake pads and labor costs would be $99, which was a great price in comparison to competitors. I left another competitor for this price. I called them for an estimate of everything, to which they said was $287 plus tax. However, once I get there, that completely changes. They say that the pricing over the phone wasn't noted and the fluid exchange was not included and that the price was actually another $80 plus tax. I had them go into the recorded call log to prove the previously agreed price. They never called me back for three hours. Once they called back, their manager Steve said he could not do any of the work suddenly because the parts weren't there after three hours of waiting and calling ahead and receiving an estimate with my car information. I bought 4 tires and a wheel alignment from Mavis Tire Marlboro New Jersey at a good price, they beat a competitors price like they advertised. I dealt with manager Rob C who was soo delightful and professional. He updated me a few times on how the job was going and answered all my questions and concerns. Rob was honest and didn't try selling me anything I didn't need or tell me something else was wrong. Everyone was pleasant, it was a pleasure dealing with a business that cares about their customer. I had to go back the next day for something and Rob took care of it immediately, he old me not to hesitate to call him if I had any other questions or concerns because he would take care of it. The guy behind the counter offered me a discount so i said yes. Car was finished and then i was offered the extended on the tires at $40. I turned that down as well. He said lets split the difference and sold it to me for $20. Of course i took it. On the website i noticed a discount for essential workers. I told them i was and showed my hospital badge. This specific shop is filled with scammers, they made me spend thousands of dollars on rotors, calipers, break fluid.... and my car still shakes and makes noises worse than it ever did before, They install used up parts and don't get the job done right, they lie, cheat & scam. Every time I go in here everyone is fed up with the horrible service they provide. The manager at this location should be fired for scamming customers who work hard for their money and don't get their money's worth at all. Very disappointed and will be getting my full refund for all the parts that do not work & shouldn't have been installed in the first place & can't figure out the problem and execute properly..Instead they lie, cheat & scam everybody, this is not a discount store at all. Won't be returning ever to any Mavis location. Terrible all around. They take down notes on what the problem is on you're car and if you go to another location they can already see that the manager at the other location put down false information about my vehicle, every branch is a scam they all work together. BEWARE and stay away !!!! And finally once they scammed me and I come back saying my car still had problems, the manager tells me that they can't do anything about and that I should take my car somewhere else, after spending thousands of dollars on my car and it's still not fixed, that is the last thing I want to hear. Not sure if he is the owner or employee but either way certainly did not want my business. When asked if he had the certain type of tire he said "no" without any indication of whether he can get the tire or perhaps suggest an alternate, so I asked, would it be possible to order the tire? to which he said "no" I said okay, he then said "I can check but I'm busy with a customer so call me back in about 2 hours and I'll check," haha okay like I'm going to call back! Sadly I cannot go negative on the rating. I went there for a simple brake job and ended up almost dying. I guess they don't care about tighten caliper bolts. My caliper was sitting on my rotor and the passenger side bolts were about halfway off. The bolts fell out as I was driving!! If you love your family DO NOT take your car here. After getting them fixed by another shop(closest one I could find). I asked to be reimbursed for what had happened and they just offered me reimbursement on a single caliper. I brought the car for a simple tire repair. I had an appt at 9:30. I come in and I am immediately told there is a 2 hour wait. I come back in 2 hours and wait another 1 hour for a guy to do a simple plug without removing a tire. I argued with the manager that I wanted it done right, with the patch on the inside. He tells me that they don't do patches because it takes too long?! That's exactly the reason why I came there in the first place. I could have done a plug myself. $30 for a simple plug. I didn't have a good experience with them. Battery light was on and wanted to replace battery. They did replace it but came back said alternator is bad and you need to pay ~$600 or battery will be out of warranty the moment I walk out of the repair shop. I think it was really unfair , I rather know all the details before all the replacements/repairs. They are auto repair shop and should verify upfront rather than blind replacements. Just an update: Took my car to a nearby dealership to finally get the "check engine light" off. they run the diagnostics and guess what? It appears the sensors AAMCO replaced and attempted to charge me for need to be replaced (one couldn't even be removed from the exhaust manifold). No wonder they wouldn't produce the "faulty" parts....they never removed them from the car! Moral of the story: THEY"RE A RIPOFF, stay away. read more

The car was running very sluggish under 40MPH and was scary to drive. It felt like it would stop any minute. AAMCO was recommended to me. I was concerned about a high priced repair or transmission replacement. Kevin from AAMCO in Englishtown said he believed he could get it back on the road without too much of an expense. Stanford began work on the car after calling me. The hoses and /or leads to and from the transmission were worn out and needed replacement. I picked up the car this morning (December 29, 2011) and driving to work was a pleasure. It's like a new car. The service is great and I just know I was treated fairly. A wonderful experience. I had my Plymouth Satellite here years ago to have the transmission rebuilt because I was working too much to do it myself. I got the car back with a severe vibration. The worked told me that it was there when I brought the car in, IT WAS NOT. I fought with them for about a month and finally fixed it myself. The torque converter had to be replaced. What a waste of time and money, I should have just taken a day off of work and replaced it myself in the first place. Now the owner is trying to say that I never used their location.
