I took my car to Mavis in Hamburg pa. for 4 tires. It started out good so my wife and I walked close by for a bite to eat. 10 min into eating the manager told me we needed to go back because he had to show me something. We got back to the shop and first thing I noticed was they put on the wrong tires and my hood was open. I knew a sales pitch was coming because I worked for an independent garage for 28 years. First thing the manager showed me was the lip on my rotors which is more common than most people think and told me my rotors are warped and the rotors were ruining the brake pad, which by the way were all 6b or better. I told him I take care of my own work which I do because I don't trust these garages except the one I take all my vehicles to normally. The reason I didn't today is they were booked a week out. Once they put the correct tires on (after having put wrong ones on and having to switch them for the correct ones) they took it to the alignment rack without my knowledge and showed me a printout of every single angle out of specs. As a mechanic and a tech I have never seen this except if a lot of suspension work was done. When I looked at the info they typed in on my vehicle they put in 2016 bmw 2 series and the manager told me it wouldn't make a difference when my car was a 2009 bmw 3 series x drive. Of course when he put in the correct info the specs were different, as I would have expected. At this point my trust was a zero and I told him to pull it out and I will schedule an appointment with people I trust. He then handed the bill to me and said the warranty is void on the brand new tires because I did not have them do the work. I cant imagine how many people buy into to their sales pitches! Its scary and sad! The tire pressure light didn't go out all the way home. Once I got it home, I checked the tire pressure. If it wasn't so disturbing it would be laughable, PSIs of 19, 32, 37, and 47. I would advise anybody who reads this to avoid the Hamburg Pa Mavis, It is one of those shops that I would not recommend to anybody. A Career Auto Tech That Cares! read more

Once again Mavis strikes!! My sister and brother in law are in from out of state and their wipers stopped working. I unfortunately recommend them to see if Mavis could help. Turns out they pretended to "fix" the wiper linkage as it states on the receipt, but nope they never did. My sister and her fiancé and two children started their journey back home and tried to use their wipers that they paid $369.00 for and nothing!!! So I did some investigating and turns out the part stores all stated that this part is a special order and needed to be bought at GMC!! They should feel ashamed of themselves for lying to people and potentially putting four lives in danger because of not being able to see while driving when it started to rain!! read more

My brother in law took his suv there because wiper motor was bad! They said they replaced it charged him 300$ and now he's on his way home to another state with his wife and two little babies, and wiper motor stopped working! I had come in needing new tires on my highlander but the one key lock on the tire was badly broken. The maniacs were really helpful and managed to get the last lock off for us so I could get my new tires. On the phone they are polite and give accurate time estimates for work being done. I'm person the staff are also friendly and helpful. I look forward to coming back to this location. read more

A few days ago, I easily scheduled an oil change appointment online. I then called to ask pricing. The gentlemen that I spoke with was very professional, helpful and friendly. I just arrived back home from my oil change and wanted to write a review right away. Julio was exceptional! He really helped me out! My oil change was done very quickly. Everyone I saw there was friendly. Excellent customer service goes a long way today. It's a shame that more companies don't strive for this. I had just discovered both my front tires had sever wear on the inner tread cords were almost completly worn through. Nervous being late in the afternoon. I was worried I woukd be able to get anything done before they closed. With no apoitlment I went into Mavis hoping they could at least put two tires on. The Manager their was awesome. He told me not to worry he would get me in not only for tires but an alignment. I was in and out almost like having an apointment and the place was busy. My wife just got ripped off by mavis in hamburg pa. they quoted her a price for cooper tires for 189 dollars for the total bill. When I looked at them they are a cheap off brand "starfire" which were not the tires that were suppose to be put on they decided that they would try to put on fake cheap tires. Stay away from this place unless you like getting scam and completely ripped off. FFFFFFF you scum bags you will go out of business real quick.
