I do not recommend this place!!!! I went in for a routine oil change because it was close to my job. Right after I left, I noticed something was wrong -- my car started jerking whenever I pressed the gas, and I began hearing a strange noise. I had a long drive home and was genuinely nervous that my car might break down on the highway. I considered turning back, but I was already too far, so I took it to a Mavis closer to my home, since it's the same company. The mechanics there told me the oil had to be completely flushed and replaced. Now I'm concerned that this oil change may have caused serious damage to my car. The whole experience was stressful, unacceptable, and very inconvenient. It disrupted my schedule with work and took up valuable time having to deal with the aftermath. read more

Decent experience with replacing Tesla tires. Comfortable waiting room. Need to have your own Tesla pucks for jacking up the car (order from Amazon). The tires psi were set to 35 instead of Tesla's recommended of 42. I filled up at home, so remind them if you have Tesla to fill them to 42 psi. Ordered tires from them because they offered free tire rotation service, will see in future visits. read more

This place should be avoided at all cost!! Brought my car in for a new tire after calling to confirm the car, tire and appointment. Waited 90 minutes before they told me that they didn't have my tire im stock. It was a run flat so I had to now leave my car overnight. The next night I picked up my car after work. It was parked in the back of the shop next to some old tire trailer. It was pitch dark with no lights. I took the car directly home (about 10miles) and into my garage. The next morring, the tire they just replaced has 10 pounds of air in it. I went back and when they checked the tire, there was a nail in it. While it's technically possible that something happened on my way home, the more likely scenario is that they ran over a nail where they parked my car behind there shop. See the pics attached. When I asked how they were going to make it right, Deshaunte Williams, who claims it was "his shop" told me "not a fucking thing" and threatened not to put my damaged tire back on the car. I used to come here all the time when it was STS and always got great service. Now, the place looks like shit and in run the same way. Long waits with no concept of customer service. Go to NTB or RW Tire just a few miles away. Stay away!!! UPDATE 2/19/2018 I took my car and tire up the road to RW Tire. They FIXED the tired in 10 minutes. The dishonest, unethical shills at Mavis told me it was "unrepairable", pointing to a BS chart on the counter, and wanted to RIP ME OFF for another $305. RW Tire fixed it for a grand total of ... $20! I've added the picture of the nail that ended up in my tire, almost certainly from the debris ridden "parking lot" in the back of Mavis' garage. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change the salesman "told me $60 to 100 which I thought was fine. when he called me and told me it was done he told me a $120 I've never paid that much for an oil change in my life. Went for an oil change was slammed with the break fluid flush I did not want or need, when I questioned it was shown the slip I signed to authorities them to work on my truck was listed on it. Been coming to this location for 15 yrs, back when it was STS. Since Mavis took over and different employees work here the quality of service has gone way down. Came in for a oul change and was told breaks, rotors and power steering flush was needed. Breaks are barely a yr old and last time I was in, 5 months ago, had the power steering flush done. I was basically hustled. I went in based on a quote of 400 dollars for tires. It took a very long time to get these tires on! Once the tires were on the price jumped up to 700! I asked about this and was given an excuse "unexpected costs". At this point the tires were on the car. I was then told "if you write a good review I can give you 10% off". I said no I'm not giving a good review. Avoid this place. They care more about their bonuses than actually helping people. I still feel they owe me 300 dollars. I have been dealing with STS for a good 20 years fellow by the name of Tom was the manager. When the new manager took over I could tell right off the bat he was an add on work type wipers, tires, flushes. I still advised my wife to continue to use them for the oil changes. She just had the oil changed a couple of weeks ago and noticed she needed window washer fluid which they could have topped it off and charged us but did not. When I checked the battery I noted 4 of the 6 cells were bone dry. I took a picture of it and will be stopping their tomorrow to ask them why they check off test battery life and do not even check the cells. We have 3 cars in our family and I assure you they have just lost all 3 I would rather drive an extra 5 miles and feel confident that the check minimal items under the hood. John Petrino read more

Don't bother. Tried a walk in appointment and they were swamped. No worries. I will make an appointment. Made an appointment for the next week. "Yes we have the tires and price you reserved and No we can't do the alignment you need." They refer me to the Cream Ridge store. No problem. I ask that they call and confirm they have my tires. She calls and confirms. I get to Cream Ridge 20-25 minutes later and she does not have the tires that were just confirmed... but she can sell me something more expensive than what I reserved or wanted. Very frustrating. Very poor customer service. Took my car there to simply have a nail removed and the tire patched (would do it myself if I didn't live in an apartment and had somewhere to do it). When checking my car in the salesman/cashier on three separate occasions tried to con me into an oil change by just adding it without confirming whether the car needed it. The vehicle has 12,000 miles on it and they come out to tell me that I need to replace 3 tires because the tread is "dangerously low". I'm not sure if they frequently get people to fall for stuff like this, but it's borderline predatory and they should not be doing business this way. read more

I made an appointment because I had other things to accomplish today. I still waited an hour and 45 minutes for an oil change. Asked for tire rotation, no idea of whether it was done (the receipt doesn't list it). Paid for premium synthetic oil (lasts longer), but the sticker the mechanic put in my car indicates that I should come back in 3500 miles, so it looks like I was charged premium, but given regular. Appointments are meaningless here. Oh, and I also have a new rattling sound at the front of my car, so now I have to go to a real mechanic to have that checked out. After an hour and 45 minutes of waiting, I didn't have the energy to go back and ask what was up with the "full synthetic" vs regular, the tire rotation, or the rattling. I'll just go back to the guys across the street. They do great work at good prices. I was trying to avoid having to leave my car with them and then come back for it. I thought an appointment meant my car would be taken in right away, not sit in the parking lot for an hour, then be on the lift for another 45 minutes. Terrible. read more

She has communicated everything perfectly, and she has made sure that the work has been done to my liking! On top of the great service I have received, I also get the best price out there! I know this because I shop around a lot and this Mavis will always beat any price I can find. I had 5 35" General grabber x3 off-road tires installed much cheaper than I could buy just the tires anywhere online for! My car was barely able to drive. I made it to this place which my family and I have been coming here for a while. I went in told them about my engine issue which I've gotten my engine checked/fixed here once before. I walk in to the front desk "Bob" I believe was his name already looked miserable I asked "hey my chec-" rudely cut me off and said "we don't do check engine light" and I went well do you check engines and cut he off again. My parents have been loyal customers for years; even before it was acquired by Mavis. My dad passed away and my mom kept my dad's truck for herself. It's old; 2001. But, it was running ok. Since Mavis acquired STS and brought in new crew it has not been the same. They do not take care of you the way Tommy and crew used to. This year alone, I had to bring in my mom's truck several times for the same "Check Engine" problem. Spent nearly $5000 this year for the same exact problem. This last visit which was one week ago; they kept the truck for 2 weeks. And then charged me $1100 for the same exact problem as earlier this year. Exactly two days later, the light came back on and the truck feels overheated. We will not be returning to any Mavis locations. It's too commercialized and customer satisfaction is the least of their priorities. read more

I brought my car in due to an overheating issue. They diagnosed it as a bad head gasket but couldn't explain how they came to that diagnosis when I picked it up and I found out that they never checked the fans like I asked them to. Needless to say, I took it some place else. Everything was checked including a pressure test. The only issue is that the radiator cap wasn't replaced when Mavis replaced the radiator in October. These mechanics are not properly trained to diagnose a problem like this and they do sloppy work. I didn't know that the radiator cap should have been replaced at the same time as the radiator. read more

LONG WAIT and Poor customer service. Brought car in for 9am appointment to change to a new tire. They said car would be done at 9:45. I returned at 10 am and car hasn't been touched and they said we should expect another 45 minute wait. It's now 11:10am. We explained the importance of needing to be done as soon as possible and it wasn't taken into consideration at all, we actually watched how the technician took his time nice and slow despite the appointment we made in advance. It took them over two hours to put on a new tire and rotate another. We cancelled tire alignment because they said it would have delayed services even longer!!!! We do not recommend going there since productivity and reliability can easily be found elsewhere. read more

They said it would be about three hours but when I told them I was hoping to be somewhere at noon so I'd just come back another day, he checked to see if they could get it done faster. These guys were so helpful. We were on the way to a soccer tournament in Maryland from NY and the check engine light started flashing at 6:00 pm on the NJ Turnpike. After a quick Google search we needed to get it looked at immediately . We set off to the next exit and main road and ended up here. We were fortunate that Thursday happened to be their late night and they were open until 8:30. They were helping other customers but they took our car right away . Bryan was professional , courteous , and extremely knowledgeable. He got us on our way quickly after going out for the part we needed himself. He solved our problem , gave us the defective part for reference, and made recommendations for future services we may need for our issue.
