Tom and John were amazing!!! My service engine light had some on, I did not have an appointment, and they took me right in. After the free diagnostic test, Tom came out explained the issue was the thermometer and what was happing with the broken thermometer. Tom and John gave me the prices all broken out, parts labor etc.... that was greatly appreciated. I choose to proceed; Tom came out from time to time to let me know the progress. I then asked Tom while the car was there could they ddo an oil change and rotate the tires.... No problem done!!! This is all very important because in May I had contacted the corporate office because I believed the service manager at that time was up charging customers. I swore I would never step foot in there again. Cody the regional manager went down there and observed and did what needed to be done. Last week my sister was here from out of town, unbeknown to me she stopped at Mavis, she had an issue on her ride down with car. When she came, she proceeded to tell me how wonderful Mark was and what he had done for her. Brought her car in, noticed who had done her oil change didn't put a plate back on correctly, fixed the plate and didn't charge her. I had to call to thank him. Amazing customer service!!!!! After all this I have to say, Mavis is what Mavis used to be if not better!!!! I highly recommend Mavis in Bayville. Phenomenal customer service, excellent mechanics and I really believe a place that can be trusted. Cody when you brought John, Tom and Mark in you hit the jackpot. TLDR: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I brought my car in for an oil change, the service was a bit slow, but certainly not something I'd leave a 1-star review for. The wait was 40ish minutes even though they brought my car to the service bay immediately. The next day I go to drive my car and the oil pressure/check engine light comes on. I check my oil engine and it's BONE DRY! I mentioned this to a co-worker, and she said the same thing happened to her at the Whiting Mavis location. Apparently, Mavis wants to put new engines in everyone's car, but not oil? I called the store and the Service Manager, Roger told me to put some oil in it and bring it down. I tell him this car isn't moving an inch, and I'm not paying for a tow. They send a technician down and put the already paid for oil in my car. I then request they tow it to see if they did any damage, they do. At that time they were instructed not to perform any service on my car without my approval first. After waiting 4 plus hours and hearing nothing about my car, I decided to call and find out they performed another oil change and drove my car 6 miles, without my consent! Supposedly no issues are found without taking the engine apart. They even mentioned how they made sure there were no leaks when they performed the new oil change. This only further proves that no one even put oil in my car in the first place. I then relay at a minimum I'm expecting a refund and a statement acknowledging what happened. I'm still awaiting the refund they've thus far refused to issue me, instead wanting to give me a future free oil change and a call from the Mavis Regional Manager, Hugh, which was promised yesterday. To say I am dissatisfied would be an understatement. Not only did no one at Mavis take any blame for what happened, they still want me to pay for the oil change. All I got was "mistakes happen." Mavis Discount Tire was a great experience. My tire was low because the warning on my dash board was warning to put more air in my tires. Keith came out of the store and proceeded to put air in all 4 tires, starting with the lowest pressure tire. After he finished he double checked the tires with a gage and 1 of the tires was losing air already. Told me it has a slow leak. I was on my lunch hour and returned after work. Predators...Mavis Tire of Bayville, NJ are predators of young and Naive women. They charged my daughter $79.99 for 3.5 qts of Synthetic oil (Valvoline).. she drives a small late model 4cyl Honda. They added $5 for the filter, $16 for the Labor and Tax. Total $100.99..not to mention they wanted to charge her $19.99 to check her tires?..(btw.. we had purchased the tires at the Jackson shop with an extended warranty that included lifetime tire rotation and inspections..we have since moved to Bayville)......She questioned the excessive charge, so they offered a discount, but only if she filled in a favorable review online before she left the shop. that amounts to extortion/Bribery! I called the corporate store and advised of the predatory nature of that shop. Shortly after, I received a call from the shop and spoke to the acting manager who was arrogant and defensive claiming he was doing my daughter a favor!... What a jerk! read more

Irresponsible and Unprofessional. Had them give me a quote for rotors and brakes and they forgot to give me my wheel lock key and a wheel lock was missing. I needed 2 tires and decided to give Mavis a try considering they were around the corner - NEVER AGAIN. I made a 9am appointment and dropped my car off at 8am before they even opened. I put my keys in the drop box in an envelop along with my info. I didn't hear fro them until 11:44am when the Perla, the front desk lady was calling to try and sell me an additional 2 tires. When I told her no thanks I just wanted the ones I purchased online and reminded her I had an appointment she said "oh well the envelop was ripped so we couldn't make out your number and its been a busy morning and you wrote Steph but the orders under Stephanie." I knew the envelop was not ripped because I saw it on the floor before I walked away and it was fine, just a little crushed from their crappy slot in the door. she assured me my car was next up to have the tires replaced and I told her no problem I live close by so it was ok. By 3:59pm when I never heard from anyone I called and asked how things were going. Perla said they had not gotten to the car yet but they were going to put it up next and again mentioned it was a busy morning. I mentioned that I had a 9am appointment and it was 4pm and my car still wasn't even worked on. I was quickly informed that apparently "this isn't a doctors appointment a 9am appointment is a 9am RESERVATION and "if 30 cars come in at 8 am they work on those 30 cars before the 9 am reservation". Which I understood however it Was a Sunday which meant they opened at 9am and in fact I dropped my frigging car off at 8am so I should have been the first car they did work on, hence the "reservation". But I still was nice and said ok fine. At 5:09pm I received a call from Perla who was a bit snippy asking if I planned on picking up my car today - I said um is it ready ? She said yes I called you and have been waiting. So not to keep her waiting I said I'd pay over the phone and said leave the Keys in the car. Meanwhile my phone never rang - as she tried to figure out how to ring me up for 5 minutes, I searched my calls and nothing. When she came back I said I'm Perla i have no miss calls from you guys so you never called to tell me it was ready. She then proceeded to tell me how they have been having trouble with their phone lines and getting busy signals. So which one is it you called or your phones don't work? Don't lie to me. Well I just picked up my car and the pressure sensor on one of the new tires doesn't work! Nobody go to mavis in bayville NJ. I paid over $600 for 4 brand new tires to be mounted and balanced a on July 2nd and 6 days later my front drivers side tire Came CLEAN OFF MY TRUCK WHILE I WAS DRIVING 40 mph on route 9!! I couldnt stop my vehicle because there was no tire for the breaks to stop!!! It grinded down the road sparks everywhere my tire almost causing an accident people swerving on the other side of 9 til I finally threw it in park and was able to stop right before hitting the guardrail. A few people stopped to make sure I'm ok and One nice guy stayed to help me, 5 months pregnant in 80degree weather , find my tire. After looking for 20 minutes we found it in the woods across Rt 9 down serpentine. We also found 2 lug nuts in the road, they had not been properly tightened. I am 5 months pregnant and a I went by ambulance to the ER because my seatbelt jolted my belly and I had a major cramp. I was there for hours because I had to wait for special blood tests which indicate the presence of fetal blood in my blood stream due to my blood type, they cannot mix. Baby's ok, and I'm ok, and thank god no one was directly in front of me that I didn't plow into and I'm so grateful for that BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. After the police came and having my truck towed back there I went there the next morning and out of curiosity tried the lug nuts on the remaining tire on the same side of the vehicle and I was able to unscrew and take of 3 out of 5 lug nuts on that tire with my fingers!!! I am not that strong. After bringing the employee out to show him my car they told me they would assess the damage and contact their manager etc. turns out there's no general manager right now she's out for the whole week because "they're in transition" and the district manager has not returned one of my phone Calls. I called corporate Monday and it's now Thursday and they haven't returned my call. The next day I called to find out about the damage and the employee told me that they slapped the tire back on and there was no damage and I could pick up my vehicle. I guess they think I'm stupid or something and this is just going to get brushed under the rug. My husband drove by and my truck is sitting there in the parking lot with studs and lug nuts missing on the tire not to mention body damage at the very least that I can see with my own eyes. I looked mavis up on the better business borough and they have an F for similar situations and fraudulent situations. This place is a joke and I will not be driving my car out of there I now need to have it towed to my mechanic to have it evaluated. These people don't care about human beings not to mention don't know how to put on a tire which is supposed to be their speciality. Do not go to mavis tires in bayville. a new shop opened up in Bayville and So I figured I would help out the towns new businesses to keep them thriving in todays crappy economy that we are living in. went in to get tires and shocks and i wanted to get a estimate on what they would be charging, after speaking with the counter women and the shop manager i agreed to the estimate and proceeded to make an appointment for the repairs to my car, the day came and and they held on to my car to the very last minutes of closing, went in to pay and get my car and the so called estimate that was going to be said price Doubled in dollar amount. Needles to say I payed and also started the process of getting a refund which they did refund me 400 dollars, but nearly not enough to compensate the exuberant amount of money they charged me over the original quote. let not forget that the tires they mounted and the balancing they did on my car left it worse then the old tires I had on there to begin with....Either they hired mechanic that don't know what they are doing or the machines they have are poorly calibrated....
