I live in a town a few miles away with a smiley water tower. This gas station; however,…read moreexemplifies everything wrong with humanity and the human spirit. In a series of unfortunate events, my brother was about to run out if gas and pulled into this gas station. My brother lives next door to me. His debit card wasn't working and he called me - The lady told me that she couldn't take my card over the phone. I understand - there is a bunch of fraud in this country. I called her back and told her who I was and I worked with a big business just outside of their town. I told her that Mom was gone and I didn't want to wake the kids up and pack them in a van to come pay for a gallon of gas. As soon as my brother went in the bathroom, she called the police. (He had not even pumped any gas at this point). I am white and my brother is black and I told him she would call the police even as he told me the initial story. I don't believe black people are picked on as a general rule of thumb but this lady was a racist bigot. He dug through his car and found some change to pay (prepaid) for gas that the pump stated was "prepaid only from 3pm and on". He gave her the money and then the state patrol showed up. He pumped his "prepaid" gas and instead of the "prepaid after 3pm" gas limit reached shutting the pump off it ran for another $2.00 until he shut it off himself. Backup called. Black guy pumping gas. I packed up my kids in the middle of the night and drove out to this gas station to pay for the (only in cash) gas from this place. I tried to talk to the cashier and she told me to "Just drop it! I wasn't the one on duty" while she sat and talked about her cremated son to the lady that was on duty when he showed up that was on duty. I went to talk to the State Patrol cars (that had scrambled 2 units - Go tax payers!) to ask them about the situation. One of the officers was nice but the other one was a complete asshole. No empathy. Everything was black and white - he had no interest in talking. I guess he forgot that we all pay his salary... But I guess I went to enough idiots like this in high school to know that dealing with this kind of idiocy requires no rational argument. Anyway, I shaved a $100 bill out of my wallet for my brother's $3 worth of gas that the lady set him up to take a fall for. She took my money and carefully dragged an "anti-forgery" pen across the face of the bill. How nice! Playing the race card is absurd in almost all cases, but this was so blatant. It's like they'd almost get a guy in trouble than take my money. Shame on you. Enjoy your Karma. Where has all the humanity gone? Not to this place.

First thing to know, Downtown Omaha is kind of a grocery store desert - or at least that was the impression I got from my visit. We were travelling with our toddler and while I KNOW she should be 100% off bottles, we are picking our fights and she still enjoys one with her milk in the morning and in the evening. That being said, we only brought two bottles and planned on cleaning them as we went. Our only problem was we forgot dish soap. After asking the front desk where would be the easiest place to find some they recommended Cubby's and they were right! While you pay convenience store prices, it was easy to pick up what we needed and they had a few options which was nice. The store itself has a good variety of food, snacks, odds and ends, and likely serves as a little grocer for anyone who lives nearby. I wouldn't say I loved this place so much I would definitely return, but I will say it was clean, had what we needed, and was conveneint, which really was about all I could ask for in a nearby convenience store.

The meat selection looks surprisingly great! This review needs to be more characters but thats…read morebasically all i wanted to say
