The only reason I'm pulling off the 5 in Orland here at the Pilot truck stop is they have a Wendy's…read moreattached to the truck stop that's open 24 hrs as are the gas pumps. They have all flavors of gas including diesel. Since we stopped I might as well fill up this gas hog Suburban SUV. All the gas prices locally off this exit are the same, so no bargains. Maverick is just across the way with the same prices. Restrooms are super clean (at least the girl's side), and you can get any kinda road food you might imagine inside. We stopped for lunch at the Wendy's, mostly just cause I had a 2 for 1 coupon on some burgers. Lots of commercial truck traffic here so watch out where you're going.

The extreme caution that should have hit me before we plunked down our 3 grand cash hit me only after taking the car to Penner's and finding out everything wrong with it. Cracked engine mount, no rear brakes, massive oil leak, shredding belts, bald tires. Jerry's estimate for this work was about what it would have cost to fix the engine mount alone in my neck of the woods. Jerry was sympathetic to our situation and knew we couldn't take the car on the 3 hour drive home. Thanks to his willingness to turn on a dime for us and fix all the problems he found in less than 30 hours at a very reasonable cost, we seem to have added a good car with lots of mileage left to the family "fleet" without significant inconvenience and while still paying less than retail. I'm still wondering if buying this car was a temporarily insane decision, But thanks to Penner's, we might actually have a decent, safe car that will see our kid through college & beyond. Great shop, hero level service.

I needed to use the…read morerestroom though, and it's one of those deals where they attach the key to a huge object and then you have to walk around the building and enter from from the outside. The bathroom was pretty disgusting and the odor was overwhelming. I was in and out of the restroom quickly but the pump was incredibly slow so it took a long time to fuel up. Then right after we got back on the freeway I saw a pilot that had gas for much cheaper. Live and learn I guess.

I hopped in the car, drove under the Orland arch and found this place as the closest gas station, little mart. Ran in and asked the lady there "beer please!" with a frantic look. "Over there, 10 bucks out the door for a 12 pack" she pointed and replied. I ran over, grabbed the beer ( a 12 of Bud Light!), threw 10 dollars at the counter and raced home. Made it just in time for the kickoff. Friendly cashiers, great deal on beer. This is my favorite market in Orland.

At 9:30 he showed up and said he changed the time to 10 am. He made me stand in the rain 10 minutes while he went in and sat down. Said it wasn't his problem or fault about the time. Literally the place smelled like a porta potty. I gagged from the smell. Then he asked why wasn't my husband returning it? Really because I rented it and my name is on the contact? He raised his voice at me several times because he wasn't being helpful. I just had knee surgery and it took 45 minutes dealing with him. I would never go back for anything. Ever.
