Korean cauliflower crispy fried tofu tacos
    Sunny B.

This is a restaurant inside Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. They recently changed the menu and added a new vegetarian items. We tried cheese curds and korean cabbage crispy tofu. The items are pricey as expected at a resort. The total came out to be around $45 for those two items. The taco dish came with two tacos and a side (we chose fruit). The tacos were uniquely flavored with a sweet and sour sauce but very messy. The fruit was a cheap mix of grapes, pineapple, honeydew and cantaloupe.

The Crab Dip with Pretzels is still excellent.

The food is good, service good, and the ambiance is great. We always eat outside because the bar is so loud and it is so cold. Outside it is beautiful and so peaceful. At dusk it is fun watching the children (and adults) make S'mores on the large fire pit. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

One of Hyatt Lost Pine's hotel dining options so prices are admittedly higher than may be expected. We found a nice selection of appetizers and entrees and were able to be seated both with and without reservations. Dining is both indoor and outdoor with a limited number of tables outdoors. Credit cards accepted including AmEx.

We are staying at Hyatt's Lost Pine's Resort and Spa for a dance convention. We went to Mavericks after a night filled with dance. We were starving. There was a wait and we were told an hour but it was only 30 minutes. The food was delicious but it took a very long time to come out or get service. The portions were big and the quality was great. We will be eating here again today.

Founded in 1997 by Chip McElroy, Live Oak was built with a simple idea "make beer for people who actually like the taste of beer." In 2015, Live Oak moved to their current location on a beautiful property along the Colorado River, opening a taproom and biergarten. One its unique features...it's off the beaten path of other breweries. Live Oak Brewing is north of the airport and backs to the Fast Park remote airport parking lot. At first glance it looks like it's a convergence of a fire station and deserted manufacturing plant. The grounds are impeccable...tall statuesque trees, lush green vegetation and an extensive outside biergarten. It feels like you are in a nature bubble. Interestingly, Live Oak Brewing has its own on site 18 hole disc golf course (different from traditional golf) located directly on the brewery's property. Live Oak Brewing's interior has the feel of a German Hofbräu...homey, spacious, and welcoming, with long communal tables that encourage conversation and human interaction. You can see directly into the brewing space, with large tanks and equipment. Also, board games are available if you choose to play. Live Oak is family friendly and dog friendly. In fact, Groot, the owner's dog, freely roams through the brewery drinking area. While I only had sips of beer (not a big beer drinker), my friends enjoyed their beers. Live Oak Brewery Company is a super fun place to hang out.

There were plenty of drink options to choose from, and the menu definitely caught our attention, which is what brought us in. We started with the nachos with beef. They were pretty good overall, though the Velveeta-style cheese wasn't our favorite. The meat lovers pizza was a hit -- thin crust, well-cooked, and full of flavor. The main reason we came was for the chicken wings, and unfortunately, those were a bit disappointing and left us wanting more. However, the owner personally came over to apologize and explained that those were not the wings they normally serve. He even comped us $10 in cash, which was a very appreciated and classy gesture. The staff was friendly throughout our visit, and because of how the situation was handled, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and plan to come back again to let them redeem themselves.

We made reservations here because we were staying here for the week. Our party of 5 adults and 2 toddlers were originally seated at the center of the room, and I asked if we could be moved to the booth where we can feel more close and not so separated. The dining table felt too formal and we like to sit closely...especially with children you'll want a booth. Anyway, point being, the staff was so kind of patient to allow us to move and I hope I wasn't being difficult doing this, but it made all the difference during our time here. A lot of things were ordered, and they even have a set menu for kids for $28: + Fruit with Coconut Yogurt - Kids may be disappointed as it looks like whipped cream but it tastes like tart yogurt. + Entree of either CHicken, Petit Filet, or Grilled Salmon + Dessert - Create your own dirt cup which can be fun for the kids. Here's some of the things I tried: ESPRESSO MARTINI - $18 Sweet and strong, you only need one! As for food, I lost my photos, and I had a taste of variety. I'm so sorry. This is not a thorough review, but all I can say quickly is: + They have complimentary warm bread and butter. + This place will serve the finest and freshest fish because of thier partnership with thier Sushi establishment. So try the ahi tuna. + Filet minion is pretty darn good + Bisque was sweet and creamy. + We were treated with a single portion of Beff Wellington and Cranberry sipping and it was so lovely. + Have I mentioned how amazing the service is? + They validate your parking if you came to park in the lot (this was helpful for friends who didn't stay with us at the resort) You'll have a wonderful time no matter what you order. I can't recommend this place enough during your stay.

I started my meal with the Seared Scallops, which were perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. The entire plate was a work of art and since I enjoy a well plated meal first, this one hit right on the money. For my main I enjoyed the South Texas Antelope Tenderloin. Any chance I have to sample a local dish I take it and this one delivered massively. I highly recommend trying this dish if you visit. I also had the chance to try the Seared Ahi Tuna, as our mains were taking a bit longer than expected and the chef personally delivered us a couple apology dishes. I appreciate a chef who can acknowledge an issue and do his best to fix it, so this was nice to see. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly and took great care of me and my party. Seeing the chef come out to the table to speak to us was a big deal to me. All in all I was very happy with my visit here and will certainly return if I ever get the chance to stay here again. It is kind of hidden, so you sort of need to go look for it, but it's certainly something you don't want to miss. Highly recommend checking this place out.
