    Buffet

5 stars for the service and say 4 stars for the food, such super great service, we think it was the owner or manager that kept coming to the table making sure everything was Ok and if we needed anything. Great selection on the buffet, fresh, and they even had cat fish that was very good. The desert bar was very well maintained and very good. Frozen margaritas were good and strong in the icy glass. The reason for the four stars this was the rating on the buffet only, like I said very good but it was a buffet. BUT, OH YEAH we will be back. We highly recommend....don't know why it has only two stars, it needs many more..

And they only provide one small cornbread muffin, but it's very tastey. The pork chop was prepared well, but it's hard to remove gristly edges when it's all buried under the gravy. It could have been a better cut of meat, and that would have helped. There are certainly nicer porkchops available for purchase at Costco (and even HEB) if they want to upgrade the quality of ingredients. There are limited beverage options. They were out of coffee so I had unsweet tea, which was nice. The staff seemed to have something unusual going on. Maybe someone hadn't shown up for their shift or maybe they were training someone. But from greeting to seating to taking my order to checkout, it was just awkward. I don't expect it's normally that way. Lunch special was $12.99. Other meals were in the $20+ range. White meat chicken isn't available on the lunch menu, only dark. But even on the regular menu, it's dark meat only unless you pay a $4.95 upgrade. So basically, this creates a large (2X) price between different variations on a fried chicken meal, which fine, I guess, but for me, it's a strange pricing strategy that I haven't seen anywhere else. But mostly, to me, it feels like I'm eating in a city rec center with a staff of community volunteers. Friendly enough, and tasty enough, but not quite restauranty enough. I haven't given up on it, but I'm not quite sold yet. Wishing them well. I like having a soul food restaurant in town.

It was a funky, Texas cool old building that you could tell had been there a while. They have a friendly Boxer and a Papillon walking around saying hello to everybody. I ordered the Fried Shrimp plate which came with three sides and I chose Coleslaw, Fried Okra and Green Beans. It was all stellar. I was talking with the owners and they were very nice and friendly. I told them I'd heard that their Fried Chicken was the best in the county and they asked me if I would like a piece on the house, so I told them I'm pretty full, so just bring me a wing. Gracious goodness it was fantastic. They later showed up at the club and they brought and gave to me the rest of their Chicken that hadn't sold by closing time. What a charming place and what a wonderful group of folks. I can't say enough good about Meuth's. Many call it the best fried chicken in Bastrop County and I am inclined to agree. If you are ever in the Red Rock- Rockne area give them a try and you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to go back!

First of all, it's very kid-friendly! Almost every family that walked in had small children. They have high chairs, crayons/coloring pages, and a kids menu. The kids menu deserves a kudos! Usually, I expect bare minimum but they really invested effort into the food. The grilled cheese came on big fluffy buttery pieces of bread and was something I'd expect to receive from the main menu. The chicken tenders were big and juicy and delicious too. Kids devoured their grilled cheeses (to be fair, they've never met a grilled cheese they didn't like but that's what makes the restaurant's above-and-beyond effort more admirable). I enjoyed my food as well. I got the chicken-friend steak. I rarely eat fried food -- this was worth it. Delicious. Also the show-stealer was the Brussels sprouts side! Fantastic. Perfectly browned and crisped (not overdone/too blackened like many places do). Mashed potato side was tasty too. Finally, the service was excellent. Super nice and attentive staff. Parking is very easy -- free lot next door.

When I walked in, I was immediately greeted and my food was ready. When I I left I was told bye by at least two employees. The food was still hot and fresh when I arrived back at work. The way it was placed in the to go container was well thought out and was amazing. I got the chicken fried steak with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and they separated the chicken fried steak with foil so I did not receive a soggy steak, and they put plenty of gravy on the side in a container. Thank you for the amazing service and food!
