Maverick is known as a steakhouse buffet, not many left after Covid but they still have a good business here. We prefer to eat in the bar area and order from the menu, they have a good selection and it's always cooked to order. It's also full service so you can relax and enjoy a beverage while you're waiting for your meal in a much better environment than the buffet dining area. This trip I ordered the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and it was delicious, we come about once a month or so and it's always consistently good. read more

I always try to come over to eat here when I am in the area to visit family. Food, servers, and ambiance was very nice. The spaghetti was not to my taste but I don't fault that to the restaurant (I'm a picky eater). Would highly recommend! read more

We have been here a lot. Don't know if we will ever be back. A pubic hair came out of the vanilla side of the ice cream machine. And when I showed the cashier, she acted like it was business as usual. And they did not break down the machine to clean it. The young man who waited on us was great but a pubic hair in the ice cream is a BIG DEAL BREAKER!! YUCK read more

Didn't realize that it was a buffet thing when I went. But I had a small sirloin, and it really was good. The waitress was great. Over all I had a very good experience. The only reason I took off one star, was because 3 or 4 of the employees were swirling around talking about how to do their "preclose" and how to get out on time. I was at least an hour away from closing time, and it made me feel uncomfortable. read more

We've eaten here a few times. It's a typical buffet. The salad bar selection is very good and fresh. The fried chicken is good. Wish they had baked potatoes on the food bar. The breakfast bar on the weekend is very good. The lady at the omelet station is very friendly and accommodating. read more

Great place for a solid salad bar that includes hot items. Their fried chicken is very good. Reasonably priced, clean and excellent service. read more

This place will forever be a classic to go to! Very traditional American hometown style buffet with a good variety for all! Very well priced and the staff are always there to help you with whatever you may need! The atmosphere is of a peaceful and inviting family environment for any occasion desired. The number 1 rule when going is "Never go and forget a homemade roll!" The best way to have them is swimming in their honey butter! Will always keep coming back for more and more! read more

I was driving down to St Louis to catch the Blues game. Litchfield was on the way and me & my buddies heard good things, so we decided to check it out. When I first entered, I thought it was weird that we couldn't use the soda fountain ourselves, the cashier filled up our glasses herself. But then I found another soda fountain that we could use, so I was glad I only got water and not a soda. When I sat down, the chairs were comfortable and the tables were clean! The background music they had there was a major W, great tracks! The food options satisfied me as well and the desert options were vast. My favorite thing I got from the buffet were the potatoes and their cheese pizza. Grilled chicken was great as well, had the chocolate ice cream as well which was a W. Also had their green beans & broccoli which were great as well. All that food was 15 bucks! I'M GONNA SAY THAT AGAIN 15 BUCKAROONIES. For that price and the amount food options we had plus the great quality of their food(waitresses were really nice as well). 5 stars man without a doubt in my mind. This is gonna be the regular spot for me & the boys to stop at on our way to St Louis. read more

Always delicious regardless of wether it's just a drink and an appetizer, full meal on the lounge side or gorging on the fresh choices of the buffet side everything is yummy read more

They have a great buffet. The staff is very friendly. They have the best tea in town. Try their breakfast buffet on Sundays. So yummy

Waiter was great! Gal at front counter was great! Food was ordinary and there were flies under glass of salad bar. After tell the gal tending to the salad bar, she was unmotivated to do anything to rid the flies. Bravo to the waiter for notifying mgmt. read more

First time here, staying next door so walked over for a early dinner, friendly greeting, buffet in the dining room but we chose to sit at the bar, fast service, generous pours, and huge dinner portions, you better be hungry, and the salmon was the best I've had in a long time, moist and fork tender. Highly recommended! read more

never will go back NOT 1 person doing the salad bar wearing a hairnet but I'm pretty sure they should've!!Being around food that close and majority of the food was dry and you had to guess what it was we was heading back home thought about trying it and we did but will grab a bit somewhere else next time read more

Not worth the stop. Ordered a steak almost half of the steak was raw when I order and the service was self serve for the most part I can see why they make you pay before you eat here. Horrible read more

One of my all time favorites in this little town! The food is delicious and the menu is very accommodating! Would highly recommend this place read more

I would consider this place a solid spot for dinner in Litchfield. The portions here are generous. The appetizer of fried mushrooms can easily feed two people. Each dinner comes with a huge salad in addition to a choice of toast or home made bread which I would highly recommend. The steak I got was made well and the quality of beef they use is decent. They have a good selection of beer and a full bar including a selection of house wines. Staff is very nice there as well so next time you are in town swing by and give this place a try read more

We have to drive a little ways up I-55 to get to Mavericks but it's worth it. Service is always great, restaurant is clean. They have a really nice buffet including a large dessert bar-- the ice cream machine is well maintained so it's never runny. Good fried chicken, salad bar has lots to choose from. Everything we've tried has been good-- the rolls are awesome. Definitely recommend! read more

The food was good. The stuff where friendly. Was there with 5 people and still at a booth that was a little tight for a plus size person

One thing I learned about small towns is I cannot trust Yelp reviews. I can't believe this place averages 4 stars, must be mostly local people reviewing it. I wanted to give it one star but the employees were so nice and that definitely counts for something. The price was cheap as well for an all you can eat Sunday buffet. There was a ton of food to choose from but none of it was very good. I mean ham is just not supposed to be that color. The pizza was hideous. French toast is so easy to make and so is bacon and eggs and they weren't good either. On a bright spot, there is soft serve ice cream with toppings. I felt violated all afternoon after eating here. Again I feel very guilty writing this because the people that work here are amazing. read more

I was passing through the area and decided to give this place a try. I went to the dinner buffet, it's about what you'd expect for $11-$12. Food is so-so but not gross, and plenty of options. Waitresses were very nice and friendly. Place was decently clean and well kept. Would recommend for a small budget buffet. read more

Absolutely horrible food nothing about this place is good. You can't even take your food you order home with you. I had to leave my entire meal there...they give you a little bitty bag that rips because they are so cheap to put your food in. I had gravy on my steak and a baked potato with sour cream on it how do you expect people to carry that home in a junk bag. My son had a pony shoe that was extremely overpriced for what he received and also had to leave it on the table no way to bring that home . Spent $100 on dinner for my family and nothing was really even edible. Buffet food was horrible there. Who in the hell would want to pack it up and bring it home?? This is why they told I couldn't have a box for my leftovers because I might steal food....there is not a thing there anyone would want to steal. 3 of the 5 of us have been sick since we left. I would advise everyone to stay clear of this place! Also sat without drinks through most of out meal jist overall horrible! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. ITS A BUFFET THAT ACTS LIKE A STEAKHOUSE. I got the sirloin tips peppers and onions and every piece of meat terrible. I went to taco Bell to finish dinner. read more

We are new to the area and was told about this restaurant. The food was delicious and staff was outstanding highly recommended.

I had the buffet on a Friday night and everything was terrible. The staff was very nice and friendly. The food was just very low quality. Ate here twice during a family visit. Very friendly, reasonably priced buffet. It's not the largest selection I've seen, but good variety and fresh. The breakfast buffet on Sunday was respectable, with one exception: the custom made omelets were excellent. read more

This place used to be really good, but has gone down the toilet. The last time we were there we got the buffet and my husband found bits of plastic in their cheesy potatoes. We notified a waitress who said she would tell the cooks and did nothing else for us, not more than one sorry and took our plates. I would've expected at least offering to fix it for us, or see her run to take the potatoes off the buffet. So unless you enjoy eating plastic and an uncaring wait staff, avoid this place. read more

I thought everything was really good. My dining companion said it has greatly improved since she was there last. We both had sirloin tips and the salad bar. The cole slaw, macaroni salad and broccoli salad were excellent. And that bread with honey butter....what can I say? read more

5/8 was My second time here, 1st time I tried the buffet, it's ok. This time I decided to stay in the bar. After giving my first drink, the bartender didn't come back! She floated around the room waiting on tables, etc. strong local crowd here and she catered to them. I ordered the sirloin tips, which I usually love. I was underwhelmed with these. A lot of fat and gristle. My entree was served on top of my salad, so I didn't have time to enjoy. Atmosphere is good! Room for improvement read more

We eat at this establishment occasionally. We have never had a bad experience. The food is always excellent, the buffet and salad bar are great as well. And we usually have the same server every time we go there. Janie is an exceptional server. She always has a smile, she takes the time to make sure we have everything we need, and she always keeps our drinks filled. She is a very attentive server to all of her customers. We enjoy our dinner at this restaurant each time we visit. read more

While spending the night in Litchfield on a trip, we went to Maverick for dinner. It is part buffet dining room and part bar. We ate in the bar. It is not your typical bar since it is brightly lighted and more diner-like, very spartan with sports tvs. The one waitress was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The fried pickles are good. The egg rolls more Mexican than Asian. Salmon was slightly fishy but cooked well. Fairly good wine and beer selection. read more

My wife, kids, and I were on our way to Decatur, Illinois to visit my friends and family from our home in Hamilton, Alabama, when we saw it and decided to stop there. I really enjoyed the food and the staff was great. Sierra, the cashier, at the front, even flirted a bit when my wife just totally dogged me out for wanting a steak and us being a budget. That totally made my day and despite my wife's complete rudeness toward me Sierra brightened my day. Thank you! read more
