I'm not much of an antique shopper, so I'm not sure how the prices compare to other places. Some of the smaller items seemed quite affordable and a giant wooden table was about $2,500. Helen told me she also rents stuff out to movie sets when directors are looking for farmhouse/country decor, so the items you buy may have a doubly fascinating history.

I don't know if in general the lighting in the entire building has been improved or if that was just individual booths and vendors. It was pleasant not to have to watch my step and not stumble over items placed on the floor. Booths were tidy and clean and offered many different items. Items were fairly priced for a variety of budgets. Even though shopping baskets were available I was able to bring my found treasures to the front counter to be held for me while I continued browsing. A couple of months ago I asked to wrap a few plates for me to take home, she did but refused to wrap them with bubble wrap or something and didn't pack them properly. I got home 2 km away with a broken plate. This week I went to the market looking for salt/pepper shakers. The market didn't have any bags/baskets to carry items around so I left them at the front. Long story short my items were sold to another person without his or my consent (included in his bill and he didn't realiZe). After confronting the lady, she was super rude and her apology wasn't really an apology. Her comment to me was "this isn't an upscale place or the Bay". I have been involved with antique shops all over Canada for over a decade and I have never encountered such disorganized management with such a bad attitude. I had also never had any of my items, kept at the front, sold to another person. While the items in here can be great I recommend caution with the staff, they just aren't prepared to handle a professional business.

Fun LARGE home decor store located in the 124 street shopping area…read more Popped in here for the first time the other week while completing the 124 Street Red Shoe Crawl and absolutely fell in love with the store. From hand shaped book ends to the neatest hooks you'll ever find to keep your keys safe (did someone say squirrel?) to funky house numbers, Henry's is your place! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere bright, cheery, and full of natural light with huge floor to ceiling windows. They also carry a selection of furniture and had some fabric swatches so I'm pretty sure they are customizable. Can't wait to go back and add to my unusual hooks collection!

Nicely laid out vignettes of furniture, and the staff were quite gracious and helpful considering how many people were in the store that night. Depending what you are shopping for, you will want to spend some time exploring all the corners nooks and crannies for nifty items. I was particularly fascinated by the selection of hooks and LED lighting. The challenge with this neighbourhood is the parking, it's limited, and frequently you will need to resort to paying for either a meter on the street or in the Impark lot behind MEC. The bridge construction has been difficult for businesses in the area, and now the development going up kitty-corner to Henry's PFT will add to the challenge. Leave yourself some time, make a trip out of it, stop for a bite to eat and you will have a more relaxing visit.

They are the largest antique store in Western Canada, and so there is a lot to see here. From vintage license plates to toys to furniture to everything in between (and then some). I like coming here just to browse and see what they have. The Old Strathcona Antique Mall is filled with different antique/vintage vendors so trying to hunt down a particular item can be hard, and might be in more than one spot. That said I've been on the hunt for vintage travel postcards from specific destinations I've visited (and there's a particular style I want). Postcards are in several different spots so when I come here I try to go through them all. I've done pretty well on my mission, but there are still some destinations I don't have. Oh no that means I have to go back to The Old Strathcona Antique Mall, probably pretty soon.

The owner and her staff have done an amazing job making the space feel like a welcoming treasure hunt. They always happy to offer suggestions if needed or allow you to browse on your own. Since everything here is one of a kind, I have my best luck when I'm not looking for something specific. The price range is extensive - you can find regular priced dresses for $50 but they also sell some luxury designer items for $1000+. Truly something for everyone. If you're looking for a deal, I recommend keeping an eye on their social media and looking out for their blowout sales.

There's unique furniture, from upholstered chairs with Indonesian wood to impressive boudoirs, coffee tables and bureaus. There's lots of decor, from $600 original blown-glass decorative bowls and plates to silk and brocade pillows, jewelry, chandeliers, and throws. It's impossible to do this place justice in words. The impressive collection must be seen and appreciated. If you're looking for original items for your home, include this on your treasure hunt.
