Gazpacho soup , crepes de queso y espinacas and to the far right the patatas bravas
    Jo A.

The hotel staff recommended me to this pastisseria for breakfast. We walked there from our hotel near Casa Mila , it's about a 3 minute walk Convenient for us. It's located in the Corner by La Ramble Calle. When we got there we sat outside As they offer dining outside but a few groups sat outside were smoking cigarettes. Any outdoor patio in Barcelona you can smoke. (Ewww , i can't bear being around cigarette smoke.) I asked to be seated inside the building they sat my group down right away with no problem. (Indoors is the only smoke free area you'll find in Spain) Walking into this pastisseria to see a wide variety of sweet pastries, sandwiches, wraps ,saldas in the display window is perfectly satisfying Everyone can get something to their liking. We pick a few items from the pan con crème y manzana , croissants, "bretzel" con almendras y pastels. They hand it to us along with a card to give you waitress that will add it to the bill. We order off their menu Of the day. Menu changes daily. We order gazpacho very good , cold and refreshing for these hot days in Barcelona. Patatas braavas (potatoes with spicy sauce ) is good but the sauce isn't spicy at all. Crepes de queso y espinacas is good. Yet everything we had is very delicious. We came back all five days to grab a sweet bread. Long review made short : It's essential to eat here if you're near La Ramble.

Now this is a Cafè! With tons of different desserts, sandwiches, and pastries. It's fairly big with seating on the side and in the back. The staff are friendly here and clean up the place quick after each customer. We ordered a lemon tart Llimona, and a cream filled pastry Nuria. Both were outstanding with a nice creamy taste. We also ordered Cortados and they were also perfect. Highly recommended!

We came here for a quick breakfast before heading over to Casa Mila. They're located within close proximity to Casa Mila, so it was a great place to grab a bite before our reservation. The food was good and was a great small meal before our attraction visit. Mauri has plenty of pastries and small bite sandwiches, which are perfect for a quick snack. Everything is also displayed in the glass counters, so you can easily pick out whatever looks appealing to you. After letting the worker know which pastry or sandwich you want, he will put them on a plate for you along with one of their meal trackers. Pick anywhere to sit and enjoy your meal. Pay at the front with the cashier once you are done with your food.

Don't know the exact name, and it doesn't matter, it's fantastic just trust me

The desserts here are fabulous, in presentation and taste. I had what the loveliest cream filled pastry that was similar to the Paris Brest in look but without the almonds on top. My coffee was the perfect accompaniment. I came on a Saturday late afternoon and I could tell the staff had had their fill of tourists like me stumbling over high school Spanish from many (too many) moons ago so sure they weren't the most patient with me and my squeaky, stilted request for coffee and questions about where to pay but I get it, my failure to practice more of their language when coming to their country is on me (although even if I had practiced more the anxiety when put on the spot seems to just wipe my brain clean anyway). I'm actually not giving this a full five stars because I do think if they made it clear where to pay and when to pay it would make things a lot easier for them and social anxiety ridden ppl like me. Not like I want to tell people how to run their business but a suggestion to make life easier for the staff and us dumb tourists who are itching to spend money for good food and drinks on vacation. I still REALLY enjoyed myself here. The pastry, the coffee, the ambience, the decor, all of it. Would certainly come back now that I "get it", but maybe earlier in the day so I'm not the 100000th "habla engles?" They have heard since 9am.

Good variety of desserts and sandwiches. We stopped by for a quick bite before heading to La Pedrera. I got a croissant with jamon and a codfish croquette. Croissant was buttery and the croquette was decent. You order at the counter and they give you a card to take with you to your table. At your table, they'll ask if you want any drinks. When you're finished eating, bring your card and pay at the cashier.

For lunch order 'Menu del dia', you won't be disappointed. Choose an item from each of 3 categories. Priced between 12 and 15 Euro's and delicious! You get to choose from at least 7 mouthwatering desserts. I find Barcelona to be a reasonable city to eat well. By the way your waiter (if outside, it's 2 euros extra in a lot of Barcelona cafes to eat outside) will leave a small plastic card on your table that you take inside to the cashier to pay your tab.

Chocolate croissant, spinach quiche, and a mini raspberry pie. Pie was the best!

Just an adorable spot with a huge case of cravable bites! The mini raspberry pies were my favorite, but the chocolate croissant was tasty too. Spinach quiche was good, nothing Earth shattering and I would have taken it warm, but overall, a neat spot to sit and have a treat!

I came here everyday in the morning, which is right around the corner of my Mumuri hotel. Once you walked into the store, you'll be dazzled by the pretty pastries and sandwiches and cookies and maroons in the glass display case. Here's what I suggest: 1. Pick a sandwich or pastry in the glass. (I mean point.. since I can't speak spanish) I like their croquettes nuggets too but they're a bit too oily for breakfast. Any mini-sandwich with cheese is a good choice. 2. Staff will hand you a card, with your purchase order saved. 3. Proceed to an open table inside, and order a CAFE DE LECHE (coffee with milk). YES, order that! 4. Smile with the locals or get busy with your itinerary of the day on the map. 5. Walk towards the cashier and pay with your card. DON'T waive the waiter for a check.

It's open late, that is a huge plus. Can be really busy and loud in the afternoons, and there are signs that warn against pickpockets, so watch your stuff. You order at the pastry counter, point at the ones you want, they give you a tray and a credit card on which they load your running tab. Order your coffee at the coffee bar, have them swipe your card. Coffee is always hot, cups are warmed. Pastries are fluffy and creamy, but not heavy... the kind your Grandma would really enjoy. It is conveniently located and open until midnight on weekdays, so that is pretty sweet on top of it all. Also the whole corner smells delicious, like fresh baked butter cookies!

    croissant with jamon
    Jenn Z.

Passed by and grabbed a croissant with jamon on the go. The jamon was good, but the croissant was amazing. Extremely fresh, very flakey on the outside but buttery and soft on the inside. Very satisfying mini sandwich.

What remains of my cafe con leche and a lemon tart thing

Rude employees that enforce rules that don't even make good business sense. Sweets are average. Other places to go just don't go here.

After a dozen attempts to dial in the pour the staff was honest and upfront about the selection that it couldn't be made to their standards. Wow, love this! Instead of giving me my drink and rushing me out the door, it was all about the quality. Being new to espresso making at home I fully understand the 1:2 ratio in a specific amount of time for making espresso. I took their advice and went with another bean selection. My iced cafe latte was for take away and I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors. One thing to note for any Americans that expect sweetener, there is none here. I wasn't bothered by this but I could see many others might be. Looking back I wish I had bought some beans to bring back home to Cali.

Service was fast - order at the middle kiosk and wait for your drink. They have a few iced drinks available, and you can choose which 3-4 beans to make the drink with. We got the iced latte along with the shakerato. The shakerato had no milk, so you can definitely taste the beans/coffee flavor. As for the iced latte, it was definitely less better and slightly more sweet and creamy due to the milk. You still tasted a bit of the flavor of the coffee.

Caravelle is quaint and modern, and the service is definitely on the more lax side. Note: smaller parties may be seated at the communal table, and this place stays busy! Be prepared for a bit of a wait. I started with a café con leche, and although I'm not usually a sweets-for-breakfast kinda person, the croffle looked too enticing online to pass up. Being a huge egg aficionado, I also ordered a side of eggs à la carte. My coffee arrived quickly, but after waiting 30 minutes, I noticed that guests who had arrived after me were already enjoying their meals... When I checked in with the waiter, it turned out my order hadn't gone through at all. I had to reorder, and while waiting, I asked for another café con leche since I was long overdue for a refill. Unfortunately, that second coffee never came--but on the bright side, my meal eventually did. The croffle was freaking divine. Crispy/flakey on the outside, and soft inside. The cream was sweet, but not overpowering, and the tart of the berries balanced out the meal. As I was getting ready to check out, the waiter asked if I had ever received my second café con leche. Embarrassed for them, I admitted that I hadn't... Realizing they'd made ANOTHER mistake, he apologized profusely and quickly asked the barista to make me one to go. To compensate for my time and patience, he generously comped my entire meal, leaving me to pay only for the initial coffee (2.50 euros). Despite the service hiccups, the food was incredible--truly one of my favorite breakfasts in Spain.
