So the assistant told me after everything was done that the took broke right away and he resurfaced it instead of pulling as I requested. The resurfacing cost me more. I also did not approve the resurfacing. In an apointment With Dr Allie for a "free cleaning" She wanted to do 5 other things which I declined cause I just wanted my 6 month free cleaning. Never told me I couldnt have my free cleaning. When I was all done the cleaning that was suppose to be free I was been charged for because she did a deep cleaning instead. I was told by Allie that they do protocol and ask for forgivness instead of permission. I am going to also be contacting the dental board. Be carefull if you go there they will over charge you.

The…read morehygienists were terrible--some of the rudest and most pretentious medical staff I've ever encountered. I started going to this practice as a teenager, and the experience left me with lasting anxiety about dentistry. One of the worst hygienists, I believe named Victoria, told me I had multiple cavities, gingivitis, and even suggested I could develop dementia because of it. Then, Dr. McKane came in and assured me I had no cavities and that everything looked fine. On another occasion, when I asked Dr. McKane about dental bonding to align my teeth, he immediately tried to sell me veneers. He even brought in his son to show me his veneers, saying, "See, I replaced his front four teeth--they look so natural," after I had already declined the procedure. The last time I visited, around age 14 or 15, an older blonde hygienist told my boyfriend that if he smelled anything when he kissed me, it was because I didn't brush my tongue. Not only was this unprofessional and unnecessary, but I was also going through a difficult time and had neglected my hygiene. Instead of advising me properly, she chose to humiliate me in front of him.

So let me give you guys a quick summary. The dental work was done first time around and insurance took care most of cost including the retainer. However somehow the child lost the retainer so we asked these people to install a new one. They are charging us $2800 for the lost retainer and according to them they are giving us an $1100 discount. Ok so far there is nothing wrong here but let's pause and understand the context behind just mere revenue generating nameless children. The child just lost her only bread winner to cancer about 2 years ago. The mother has 4 kids with no income or other stream of funds. I would hate to give more details here on someone's misery. All we were asking this practitioner to show some compassion given the the difficult circumstances the mother has found herself in, on top of the pandemic that is making situation from bad to worse. We family members are doing all we can but it would have made life a little more bearable for the mother to not have to choose between food and paying the dentist.Alas, to some people this $2800 will break the budget of this dental practice. The practice has chosen not to yield any more and refuse to offer any help. That is there choice. We will certainly pay somehow and gather the funds but it has become certain that this practice is all about money. I hope and wish the best for them but always remember what goes around comes around.
