Beautiful greens: Swiss chard, kale and lettuce.

We had the opportunity to visit Maui Nui Farm on our first trip to Maui. What a wonderful experience! Great produce and fruits grown on site. Nui and her staff were welcoming, helpful and informative. She grows amazing tender and flavorful kale and the dragon fruit "orchard" is impressive. If I find myself in Maui again I will be back!

We stopped here to get some food after a hike at Haleakala Crater. The Thai food truck was great! We ordered pad Thai, yellow curry and fried rice. Food was authentic and very flavorful. We walked around the farm while we waited for our food. We bought some papaya and mangoes. I cannot say enough about the fresh mangoes. It was so sweet and so juicy! I believe it's called rainbow mangoes. Regret that we didn't buy more! There's a canopy area with benches that you can sit and enjoy your meal.

So, we signed up on their website, which is required. Tour groups are limited to 25 people, so it won't be crowded. We met outside the Kihei Library. Keith was there, eager to get to know us and we got to know each other. Keith is a fountain of information and had a notebook of visual aids to share with us. We had a short walk through Kalama Park and learned lots of the history of Kihei, back through the time of the Hawaiian kingdom, during World War II and the present day. The mystery of the life size Humpback Whale statue was solved. Who made it? How did it wind up here? Who adds a giant lei to it twice a year? My favorite part was learning about the Maps of the Mokupuni, and finding our Ahupua'a and Moku. The tour ended with a beautiful sunset from the seawall at Kalama Park. Please don't forget to tip your nice tour guide!

My friend and I originally booked one day with Kelsey but had so much fun that we had to book another day before flying home. We did the Road to Hana on our first day, and West Maui on the second (before getting on our overnight flight home). Kelsey is everything you can ask for in a tour guide. She knowledgeable, flexible, keeps you safe, has everything you didn't think you need (extra towels, mosquitoe repellant, etc). She will customize any trip and that is just fantastic. On our first day, we originally wanted to do half day on Road to Hana and half day in Iao Valley. We ended up loving Hana so much that we ended up spending the entire day there. On our second day on the West side, Kelsey incorporated Iao Valley so we could still get a chance to see it! How wonderful. She also had a back up plan for our second day in case the weather wasn't nice in the West. Back up plan was to explore the south coast, and we would have been happy to do that as well. Much aloha Kelsey. My heart is overflowing. PS - she is the best photographer too! And so patient with taking all the pics you want. My friend I was traveling with hated taking any photos and having Kelsey be so open about taking your photos was the best!

Only one that I know of brings a truly unique, magical, and powerful artistry to the job and uses it to create amazing, beautiful, fun, and unforgettable images of her clients that will be treasured for years to come. That photographer is Alicia of The Captured Experience. Why do I believe this? I did a full day road to Hana shoot with her in January 2022 and it was mind blowing: I have always hated having my picture taken (because pictures look like me, and I've never felt particularly attractive), but I had a wild hair and signed up for a shoot with her. She made it fun, light hearted, and relaxed, and the images that resulted are incredible. And it's not just my opinion: check her FB and Insta for comments from other clients. If you want average, run of the mill pics on Maui, keep looking. If you want unique, once in a lifetime memories, she is THE ONE. You will not regret it.
