Best spray tan ever! Seriously!! I live in Kansas City and recently got married in Kapalua Bay. I did my research and since we had so many things to pack into such a short time, I loved that Wendy offered the rapid tan (which I was skeptical about, but came out perfectly!) We corresponded via email about her tanning about 10 of my friends and family. She even traveled from Lahaina to Haiku to accommodate us! She was professional accommodating and so sweet. She tanned everyone! Myself, my husband, even my 85 year old grandmother who had never done it before but wasn't going to miss out on the fun! She explained post tan care, left pamphlets with instructions as reminders and seemed genuinely concerned that each of us were happy. She wouldn't leave without thoroughly inspecting my tan to make sure it was flawless for my big day! She even emailed me the morning of to wish me luck and to make sure I was happy with my results. That is going the extra mile. Long story short- my entire party loved Wendy. This review is well overdue! Wendy did an airbrush tan for myself and my husband a couple days before our wedding and it was hands down the best air brush tan I have ever had! I've had a few done in the past as well as the versa spa / mystic tan and this does not compare. She came to our hotel room, was very professional and thorough. The tan lasted well over a week and looked so natural! I looked as if I had been laying on the beach with a golden glow. As much as you'd like them to be, weddings will never be perfect.... I first went through a spray tan trial run for my wedding with Abby In Oahu at Pacific Sun and it came out great! I asked for a referral since we were getting married in Maui and she referred us to Wendy at Maui Elegant Tan. Correspondence with Wendy was good--she was nice, accommodating and reassuring, that even though I saw Abby, that my results would be akin to hers (I didn't expect it perfectly but as long as I wasn't orange I'd be happy). I made my appointment maybe a week or so in advance, 2-3 days before the wedding and she confirmed with me prior. Nice! Day of: I get to my appointment and the studio is small but she makes it work! The session itself was fine! Price was good, she was pleasant and gave me pertinent information--I got the "flash" type of spray tan where I couldn't shower for xx hours (tan had to set). I went home and tried my best to stay "dry" so as not to smear my tan. After the time elapsed, I rinsed and noticed my arms and stomach areas had "come off"--I was splotchy and patchy. I texted Wendy, nicely asking if that's normal, because I followed all of her directions (and some from Abby that she didn't tell me about) and her demeanor changed: first she was of course concerned (e.g. what Happened, what were you doing) then it trailed off into being a bit condescending (you can't be moving all around) and basically making me feel like a child, scolding me and interrogating me (because she isn't at fault since she's been in business so long and has had no problems before). I honestly just asked if it's normal to be blotchy because I didn't experience this with Abby and I followed both of their advice and she jumped down my throat. Anyway, after much interrogation about my day post-tan, she offered to redo it--which is nice! But Lahaina is far from Kahului/Olinda, and I was getting married in a few days with wedding rehearsals and pre-day set up (while going to school and working full-time) so I literally had NO time and declined. Conclusion: My photos came out fine but you can see the demarcations on my arm in some angles, so I am definitely not too happy with that...so that, coupled with the less than stellar text banter, My experience is summed up to 2 stars: If she wasn't so nice and accommodating in the beginning (and eventually offering to redo it), I'd leave only one star. read more

Contacted Wendy my first day in Maui by email. She was very prompt in answering back and gave me a time for the very next day she could arrive at my hotel for a spray tan. She was friendly, on time and very efficient. My spray tan looks great! She was very detailed and gave me excellent pre and post care instructions. I went to get a spray tan wth Wendy. She has a small studio, a few miles from Ka'anapuuli. She used a medium color. The next day I had a tan. But i am a tanorexic and wanted to be darker. So, I called her and she was very, very nice and sprayed me again, for a nominal fee, and I loved it. It has lasted 3 weeks, and fades gradually and naturally. She mixed this beautiful gold dust in it and it turned out a golden tan. I got compliments on it later that day, by the pool. One lady, had just arrived at the resort and asked how long I had stayed there to get such a deep, rich beautiful tan? I told her 2 weeks, but I don't lay out, I just got a spray tan. I can say with all sincerity and disappointment that this service provider is fraudulent and misleading. The "tan" is actually an orange glaze not unlike that of a sweet and sour dish from a fast food Chinese restaurant. Went to Wendy in a whim, never had a spray tan before so I had no expectations. The process was so easy; read a little something on how to prepare and done. Wendy explained what she was doing and why. Had me nice around so she could get my inner legs and booty, upper arms and blended it to nicely with my wrists and elbows. The first night I love the color and hoped it would lady through the first rinse and it did! I bought the products, they were a huge help, my shin felt good and looked great.
