This review is well overdue! Wendy did an airbrush tan for myself and my husband a couple days before our wedding and it was hands down the best air brush tan I have ever had! I've had a few done in the past as well as the versa spa / mystic tan and this does not compare. She came to our hotel room, was very professional and thorough. The tan lasted well over a week and looked so natural! I looked as if I had been laying on the beach with a golden glow. I'm heading to Maui in a few months and I'm definitely going to try and book her again! Wendy is truly the best!! read more

Wendy was so professional and great! We are from out of town and she came to our hotel! I'm so happy that i chose to use her for my spray tan. She was a perfectionist and made sure everything looked perfect before leaving! Highly recommend! read more

Wendy is FABULOUS. She is professional, punctual, and talented spray tan artist. She responded to my inquiries and email in a timely manner and was very easy to contact the day of. My spray tan is perfect and is the perfect touch for my Maui wedding day!!! read more

Echoing previous reviews: best spray tan of my life!! And I've been getting airbrush tans for years. Wendy is meticulous, and the color was beautiful and long lasting. I had a tan before arriving on Maui, but wanted to refresh before family photos. The whole process was easy, and they carefully and thoughtfully have COVID pre-screening and precautions in place. Love love love. I will definitely use this service again on our next vacation. read more

As much as you'd like them to be, weddings will never be perfect.... I first went through a spray tan trial run for my wedding with Abby In Oahu at Pacific Sun and it came out great! I asked for a referral since we were getting married in Maui and she referred us to Wendy at Maui Elegant Tan. Correspondence with Wendy was good--she was nice, accommodating and reassuring, that even though I saw Abby, that my results would be akin to hers (I didn't expect it perfectly but as long as I wasn't orange I'd be happy). I made my appointment maybe a week or so in advance, 2-3 days before the wedding and she confirmed with me prior. Nice! Day of: I get to my appointment and the studio is small but she makes it work! The session itself was fine! Price was good, she was pleasant and gave me pertinent information--I got the "flash" type of spray tan where I couldn't shower for xx hours (tan had to set). I went home and tried my best to stay "dry" so as not to smear my tan. After the time elapsed, I rinsed and noticed my arms and stomach areas had "come off"--I was splotchy and patchy. I texted Wendy, nicely asking if that's normal, because I followed all of her directions (and some from Abby that she didn't tell me about) and her demeanor changed: first she was of course concerned (e.g. what Happened, what were you doing) then it trailed off into being a bit condescending (you can't be moving all around) and basically making me feel like a child, scolding me and interrogating me (because she isn't at fault since she's been in business so long and has had no problems before). I honestly just asked if it's normal to be blotchy because I didn't experience this with Abby and I followed both of their advice and she jumped down my throat. Anyway, after much interrogation about my day post-tan, she offered to redo it--which is nice! But Lahaina is far from Kahului/Olinda, and I was getting married in a few days with wedding rehearsals and pre-day set up (while going to school and working full-time) so I literally had NO time and declined. Conclusion: My photos came out fine but you can see the demarcations on my arm in some angles, so I am definitely not too happy with that...so that, coupled with the less than stellar text banter, My experience is summed up to 2 stars: If she wasn't so nice and accommodating in the beginning (and eventually offering to redo it), I'd leave only one star. read more

Contacted Wendy my first day in Maui by email. She was very prompt in answering back and gave me a time for the very next day she could arrive at my hotel for a spray tan. She was friendly, on time and very efficient. My spray tan looks great! She was very detailed and gave me excellent pre and post care instructions. I will definitely be using her again on my next trip. ****update: it's day 7 and my tan still looks great! That's with being poolside, ocean swimming, sweating and hiking Road to Hana, and basically living in some kind of water. Definitely happy with the tan she gave me, who otherwise would look pasty or burned the whole trip! read more

Maui Elegant Tan - Day 7 and still glowing - Spray Tanning Near Me

Wendy is absolute joy! She has such a beautiful energy, not to mention provided me with the PERFECT spray tan for my wedding day! I'm always a little skeptical of getting spray tans because I don't want to turn out orange, but there was truly nothing to be worried about with Wendy. She knows what she is doing! I would recommend to anyone and everyone who want to look and feel their best for whatever occasion. read more

Wendy spray tanned my fiancee and I at our condo the day before our wedding. We could not have been happier with Wendy or the results. She is super professional and does a great job explaining the options and the after-care regime. Both of us went with the rapid tan and had zero regrets. We even got rained on the night of our spray tan at a luau (post-shower) and had no issues with the tan. When we come back to Maui we will definitely consider using her services again for an instant Maui glow. Thanks for everything Wendy, we were two happy brides. read more

Maui Elegant Tan - Our flawless tans from Wendy. - Spray Tanning Near Me

I had an incredible experience with Wendy. She called me prior to my appointment and told me how to best prepare for my tan, we also discussed when and what type I should get based on my schedule. When I got to her studio, she was there and waiting for me. She then was so thorough with instructions, cleaned each finger nail after the tan, powdered the creases (like my elbows) that get sticky, and even gave me a pamphlet AND threw in a goat milk bar of soap to help me keep my tan longer. This tan was for my wedding the next day, so of course I was nervous on how it'd come out. I went with the rapid tan too, so I had to shower shortly after I got it. Let me just say it looked AWESOME! Thank you so much Wendy for the excellent service, this is a tan I will NEVER forget! read more

Best spray tan ever! Seriously!! I live in Kansas City and recently got married in Kapalua Bay. I did my research and since we had so many things to pack into such a short time, I loved that Wendy offered the rapid tan (which I was skeptical about, but came out perfectly!) We corresponded via email about her tanning about 10 of my friends and family. She even traveled from Lahaina to Haiku to accommodate us! She was professional accommodating and so sweet. She tanned everyone! Myself, my husband, even my 85 year old grandmother who had never done it before but wasn't going to miss out on the fun! She explained post tan care, left pamphlets with instructions as reminders and seemed genuinely concerned that each of us were happy. She wouldn't leave without thoroughly inspecting my tan to make sure it was flawless for my big day! She even emailed me the morning of to wish me luck and to make sure I was happy with my results. That is going the extra mile. Long story short- my entire party loved Wendy. We used her post tan soap and moisturizer and I have NEVER had a tan last as long as this one did, it even faded as evenly as you could hope for. Thank you Wendy!! read more

I was flying to Maui from Texas for a girls trip. I wanted to spray tan before I left Texas, but I ran out of time. Completely bummed and very apprehensive, I searched Yelp on the plane to see if there was a spray tan place in the Lahaina area. I was apprehensive about letting someone that I knew absolutely NOTHING about spray me. What if it turned out too orange? What is the salon is old and run down? What if they have old equipment? When I read the reviews about Wendy and realized she would drive to the condo that I was staying in vs me trying to find a salon, I'm was a no brainer for me. Boy, was I right!! I texted while I was on the plane to ask about setting an appointment, Wendy texted right back and in no time I had an appointment set. Wende arrived for the appointment on time, even early! She was an absolute pleasure to work with, completely professional, NEVER made me feel awkward in any way and made sure I was completely informed about the process of tanning, the pre-care and the best ways to keep my tan lasting for as long as it could. She was more than I ever could have hoped for and she did an EXCELLENT job. I highly recommend her and her service. Most definitely a 5 star experience! read more

One of the most luxurious spray tan sessions I've ever had. Wendy came to our condo with her own portable spray tan booth and gave me an amazing tan. The setup, tan and clean up was done within one hour and super convenient to not have to leave the condo while my tan set. She is prompt with her responses and knowledgeable about spray tanning prep and after care. My tan looked excellent within 4 hours. Will come back to Wendy for my wedding day on Maui someday! read more

I found Wendy while on vacation in Maui. I wish I could have her here in California. She did the best tan I have ever had. No one could tell that I had gotten a spray tan instead of laying out in the sun everyday we were there. She's very friendly and professional and VERY good at what she does. Her prices are very reasonable as well. If you're looking for a spray tan while in Maui, you won't be disappointed. You'll be amazed. read more

I just moved to Maui and was looking forward to building a tan. I decided it would be great to jump-start my tan with a spray tan so I looked for it on yelp. I decided to give Wendy a call and I'm so glad I did. She made me feel super comfortable and like she really cares about a job well done. I'm beyond happy with my tan and happy to have found a person to make be awesomely tanned. My friends said I need to get a job already as my tan is making them feel white...little do they know my new secret ;) Thank you so much Wendy. See you soon :) read more

My husband and I came to maui to renew our vows. I decided we needed to get a spray tan. I looked up several reviews for the area and called Wendy. She was very nice on the phone (even though my 2 year old was screaming in the background the entire time) and was able to fit us in that evening. For a small fee she came to us which was well worth it! She is very knowledgeable and asked many questions to make sure we got the perfect tan. She was prompt and had everything set up in 15 min. My husband and I wore undies only. She was professional and made me feel as comfortable as possible considering I was standing topless in front of a stranger. Haha She gave us some info to take care of the tan and was on her way. The next day was our wedding and the tans were perfect! No streaky, no orange, no bad odors. She saved the day! read more

Maui Elegant Tan - Awesome spray tan!!! Wendy is so friendly and helpful. Best spray tan ever. - Spray Tanning Near Me

I went to get a spray tan wth Wendy. She has a small studio, a few miles from Ka'anapuuli. She used a medium color. The next day I had a tan. But i am a tanorexic and wanted to be darker. So, I called her and she was very, very nice and sprayed me again, for a nominal fee, and I loved it. It has lasted 3 weeks, and fades gradually and naturally. She mixed this beautiful gold dust in it and it turned out a golden tan. I got compliments on it later that day, by the pool. One lady, had just arrived at the resort and asked how long I had stayed there to get such a deep, rich beautiful tan? I told her 2 weeks, but I don't lay out, I just got a spray tan. I gave her Wendy's info. I will definitely be back to see Wendy on my next trip. Thank you Wendy, for a beautiful glow :-) read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Very very rude and unprofessional person running this busines UPDATE: Wendy, yesterday you called to offer me a spot at 5PM after someone canceled on you. You said either Mobile or I could come to your place. I was going to accept it I was just trying to figure out what was easier for me. I was going to be out in the town around that time & not at home . That's why I wouldn't accept your mobile tanning services but you kept insisting. As I was trying to coordinate with the other person I am traveling with, you rudely hung up in my face, you said " You know what Linda this isn't going to work" & I said well wait why not? & you hung up on me. I do not understand what even happened I was left in disbelief. So I came on YELP to leave the review you very much deserved AND THEN you called to apologize because of the review. & Yes I did accept your returned call. I said, Wendy I'm no longer interested in your services anymore thank you & ended the call. I regularly visit Maui & Oahu and I will definitely never get any services from the unprofessional business that you are running. read more

The was by far the best experience I have had getting a spray tan before my wedding! All of my bridesmaids agreed that we've never felt so pampered before a event. Thank you a million times over for the best spray tan before my big day!! read more

Wendy does a great job! I left her place looking smooth and skinny, and I was actually tan enough to pass for a local (which I am, but no one would ever guess based on my normally super pale skin)! Wendy is remarkably professional, and her portable tanning booth is really cute and so efficient! For those of you who are wondering, this is NOT the Mystic Tan thing you tried a few years ago. Wendy is a highly trained airbrush expert, and your tanning solution is custom mixed based on your desires and skin tone. If you're looking to get your "glow" on, go see her! You'll get all the beautifying benefits of a week spent in the sun with none of the wrinkles! read more

Wendy is fantastic! Having never experienced a spray tan before, I didn't know what to expect. However, Wendy's service and quality of the tan were both excellent. If you're looking for a person to provide you with a professional experience for a special day or just want to look more bronzed for your visit to Hawaii, this is the way to go! My tan lasted for a long time and was definitely helped with Wendy's careful aftercare instructions. I enjoyed mine so much that I booked a session for my daughter. Thanks, Wendy! read more

I can say with all sincerity and disappointment that this service provider is fraudulent and misleading. The "tan" is actually an orange glaze not unlike that of a sweet and sour dish from a fast food Chinese restaurant. The provider refuses to admit to the poor results and instead looks to bad mouth the client while at the same time charging full price for unacceptable quality. Visitor Alert!!!!!!! Stay away, unless of course you are intentionally seeking to look like an Oompah Loompah for the rest of your stay on Maui. read more

Of the spray tans I have had in the past, Wendy's was the absolute best! She was very clear on what I needed to do in preparation, she was very detailed with her spraying to make sure it was evenly sprayed and gave very clear instructions on caring for the tan after. Went to see Wendy on our vacation. Being a business owner and also in the beauty business myself, I was impressed that she called me right back......We went to her house for our tans. It was comfortable, professional and pleasant. She was efficient, knowledgeable and uses great products. Went to Wendy in a whim, never had a spray tan before so I had no expectations. The process was so easy; read a little something on how to prepare and done. Wendy explained what she was doing and why. Had me nice around so she could get my inner legs and booty, upper arms and blended it to nicely with my wrists and elbows. The first night I love the color and hoped it would lady through the first rinse and it did! I bought the products, they were a huge help, my shin felt good and looked great. After 3 weeks when it was gone I booked another appt with a new product. I instantly loved the product, no tacty feeling and no chalky dry feeling. The color isn't as dark but looks like I spend an hour at the beach every day at the beach. The best part Is I bought the new product and it is the best. The ingredients and organic and come straight from plants. They feel so good and comfortable on my skin I love it! Thank you Wendy For getting me hooked! read more
