During COVID times, they enforce the mask wearing, social distancing, etc. I'm giving 4 stars only because a recent custom paint order took remarkably long time to mix (while I waited as the only customer in the store), then the staff person handed it to me in a box, along with a can of the same custom color that had been purchased previously but that had been inadvertently degraded through freezing. I thought they might have disposed of the spoiled paint I had brought in - I'd think they'd be in a better position to handle the processing of that than the customer. But more concerning was that the paint can for the new batch was very noticeably dented (which of course I couldn't see while it was in the box), and upon opening it, I found it was slightly over-filled. Color mix seemed fine, but the casualness about the condition of the can surprised me.

I wanted to avoid refinishing the entire set which included a bench and 4 chairs. The wonderful woman who works there asked me to bring the leaf to determine the type of wood and to better match the color. When I returned with the leaf, she applied three options (two which I had chosen and thought came close to the rest of the dinette set and one she mixed in case the ones I chose were off). She labeled each one very professionally. When I got home, I was excited to see the option she mixed was the perfect match! I am so glad I went there and received such personal/great advise. She went above and beyond....Thanks to her and the time she took to assist, I am proud of my first time project!!!

I will give 4 stars for the entire situation only because it took a second trip. Overall I am now satisfied.

I can say unequivocally that Hunterdon Paint is, by far, the best of the best! From stock availability to customer service, from store ambiance to product knowledge, they are unsurpassed. In fact, I routinely bypass other stores with the same product, sometimes cheaper, to shop here! Why? It's always better to do it once than to do it over! Now, regarding color, that is the hardest part of the project! I have a color consultant on staff, and she makes a world of difference to customers.
