I gave 5 stars representing my experience at Mattress Warehouse in Rehoboth Delaware tonight, because this forum does not allow for 6 stars! A few weeks back I stopped by this store and spoke with a gentleman named Jim. I had a random question regarding mattresses and with kindness and respect Jim answered my question providing a quick education to support his response. Quite impressive I thought and remembered his name. During the last week, I decided to take the plunge and get a "good" mattress system. My husband and I started out on this journey. Yes, we returned to see Jim who again answered EVERY QUESTION (which between my husband and I, gave him a run for his money!) . His experience and vast knowledge of this industry was beyond that of any professor, but more important was his ability to navigate between my husband and myself, as our levels of comfort expectations differed greatly! In other words, he has the patience of a saint! This was a wonderful experience and the team effort given by Rebecca to help expedite our sale was so appreciated! All in all, I give props to this company for hiring such knowledgeable staff who treat customers so pleasantly, without pressure and are truly concerned about their consumer's comfort. We will never step foot in Mattress Warehouse again. Last August, we came in to purchase a new mattress and was told to lie on the "bedmatch" to find the best fit for comfort. It recommended a much softer mattress than what we would have selected on our own. The mattress was delivered last August. After several days, I began to feel discomfort and soreness in my neck, shoulders and back. It's worth noting that I have only slept on this mattress part of the past few months while spending long weekends in Lewes. In Washington, I sleep on a firmer mattress and have no issue with soreness or discomfort. As the discomfort persists, I contacted the store about exchanging the mattress. I was then told that I would have to exchange it within 100 days and I just missed it. The bill of sale says: "Before executing a comfort exchange, you must use your mattress for 30 days and allow it to properly break in. If after 30 days, you are not satisfied with the comfort of your original selection, simply contacting us to begin the process for your one-time comfort exchange. You will receive 100% credit of original purchase toward the current ticketed price of the replacement mattress." At no point, the salesperson or the bill of sale mentioned the 100-day window for comfort exchange. When I asked for consideration, Mattress Warehouse sent a representative to inspect the mattress. The representative detected a problem with the mattress in that the right side had sunk considerably lower than the left side. Despite this finding, Mattress Wearhouse declined to honor the comfort exchange warranty. This is not the way to do business and you should know! read more

I hate shopping for mattresses, but my salesperson (Devin) was really great! I was in the market for a mattress and had visited a few places. I literally stumbled upon this place, looking for Starbucks (used to be located next door). I was greeted immediately and Devin explained the whole bed match process. I was reluctant at first, but didn't get that 'pressure' feeling from my sales rep, so I decided to give it a try. I was happy I did! Devin was very thorough in explaining the different types of mattresses, price, comparisons, etc. He answered all of my questions, and again, didn't make me feel pressured to buy anything. I was able to select the mattress I needed and I even purchased a GORGEOUS headboard. I am happy with my purchases (this store offers price matching which is great) and I definitely will (have already) referred people to buy here. Happy Customer read more

BEWARE of this store. My sales guy was named Tim. He started out nice enough, but he turned into a lying, cheating jerk. I paid for several mattress pads. ( over $100 each). They were out of stock so I decided to pay for them and pick them up later. Tim called several times and said they would be in on a certain day... So I'd show up and the shipment never arrived. This little charade happened 5-6 times over several months. Bottom line, Tim and his regional manager (an even bigger jerk) stole several hundred dollars from me. Plenty of other mattress places nearby. Do not buy from these guys and stay far away from Tim... He will rob you blind. read more

My initial calls and messages to corporate office with my complaints were never answered. I attempted to resolve through Better Business Bureau but just kept getting a run around. Upon writing my initial review on yelp, I received a response from corporate office and an official apology with my refund. Though my rating for the initial service that I received remains poor, the follow up provided by higher ups in corporate office satisfied my complaint. read more

We had a very good experience with Mattress Warehouse. Our salesperson was Doug. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and gave us a great deal on a super comfy mattress. Once we told him what we wanted, he immediately directed us to the right one. The mattress was delivered quickly. Wonderful experience from start to finish! First, we wanted a selection of brands to choose from. And they have them all! We were set on a Stearns and Foster from past experience. But fell in live with another brand after spending a great deal of time trying them out. We received a fair price, and they set up a delivery time, and came on time and were so helpful! My husband and I purchased a mattress from Mattress Warehouse in 2013. The mattress proved to be defective. With the help of Anthony, our salesperson, we were able to have the mattress evaluated, and following company regulations, have the mattress replaced.. Anthony was most helpful in both incidences, and we are completely satisfied with our new purchase. With Anthony's expertise, the entire process was handled cooperatively in a professional manner. Do NOT go here. We bought 4 mattresses there - and it has been a NIGHTMARE. The printer didn't work the day we purchased so they did not give us a receipt, they charged the wrong amount, we've been waiting for a refund for 4 months (literally 10 visits and many, many calls); and STILL do not have the 'mattress protectors' we purchased (never in stock). Unless you want to spend HOURS dealing with total incompetence, go SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

I ordered a mattress on 7/30/2016 from Mattress Warehouse via the sleephappens.com website. The email I received from sleephappens.com confirming my order stated that I would receive an email within three business days regarding delivery of my mattress. I never received an email, so I called. Of course I got voice mail of someone named Chris. I left a voice mail stating why I was calling and requested a call back as soon as possible. No call ever came. Since time was of the essence, I called the Mattress Warehouse store directly and spoke to someone named Jim. He was absolutely fantastic!! He located my order, told me it was coming from the warehouse in Frederick, MD, but wouldn't be in their store for a week. Since I needed the mattress for the upcoming weekend, as that is when I would be at my beach condo, he arranged for delivery and for the old mattress to be disposed of on Saturday August 6. He was so kind and professional. He told me that the mattress would be delivered Saturday, and I would get a call giving me a 3 hour window of delivery time. Sure enough, I received a call early Saturday morning with a time of 11:30 - 2:00 pm. To make it even better, the delivery men arrived at 11:20 am, which was fantastic, as that gave me the day to go and enjoy the beach. So a big thank you to Jim at Mattress Warehouse. He went above and beyond to make this happen for me. My rating is based on the service I received from Jim and the deliverymen. As for sleephappens.com, I will NEVER order through them again. I still have not heard from them. However, I do love the mattress! It never would have happened without Jim's help. He should be recognized for outstanding customer service. read more

When we moved to Delaware we needed to replace a daybed for our guestroom and after visiting several mattress outlets in the Rehoboth area we placed an order with Mattress Warehouse for a daybed to be delivered and set up in our home. After that was done we discovered that one of the mattress supports was faulty and had become disconnected from the frame. I stopped in at their showroom and spoke with Devein, who had been our salesperson, who pulled many strings to arrange to quickly get a new mattress support for us, The problem is that the corporate offices arranged to have the frame delivered to the store, which would mean our picking it up, disconnecting the faulty frame, connecting the new frame, and disposing of the faulty mattress frame. When it became clear that the process was going to be difficult for us, Devein loaded the new support into his own vehicle, delivered it to our home, and he (and a coworker whom he commandeered from the store, both still dressed in their dress clothes, including shirts and ties!) made the switch for us and took the damaged part away. In these days when customer service seems to have become a lost art in many cases, Mattress Warehouse won huge points from us, thanks to an employee who went several extra miles to make some customers happy, read more

Avoid this store and this company. Had to pay $5 to "lock in a sale price" only to have another of their stores say they couldn't honor same price. So ordered at higher price, told the mattress and frame was ready for pick up, got to store and told they were mistaken and would deliver it to our house the next day. Two hours later they called and said oops they did have the mattress but not the frame. So we picked up the mattress and said just give us a refund on the frame. They told us to get a refund they had to fill out a paper form request and send to their regional manager who would review and then approve and forward to corporate so the process would take 2-3 weeks for a refund. I just called their "customer service" who confirmed that yup, that's the 1990's technology we use so I guess it will be next month until we see that refund. In the meantime we ordered the frame at Walmart, got it cheaper and had it delivered free in 48 hours. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MATTRESS WAREHOUSE. read more

The buying experience itself was good, however, it went downhill from there. I was told i could get a specific deal if i picked up the mattress at the store on the day of purchase. I brought the very heavy king mattress home and my wife and i began to move it from my truck into the garage. After moving it about 30ft into the garage, i noticed that there was a big lump of foam collecting at the bottom of the mattress. I assumed that once I laid it flat, the mattress would even out. Once it was put flat it was clear that something was wrong. After further investigation, it appeared that there were three layers of foam that came completely unglued from the main mattress and were now bunched up in the center of the mattress. It looked as if some sort of dry-rotting had occured. This aside, i can't even realign these layers without completely ripping open the entire mattress cover. I immediately called the store to get the issue resolved and they were eager to embrace excuses instead of solutions. These included issues about having to go through multiple levels of management (some of whom are on vacation) and having to go back to the manufacturer for all kinds of approvals. The fact that i picked up the mattress now apparently also throws complexity into this issue. Nevermind the fact that I am sleeping on my floor each day this is not resolved (going into day 5), the simple ask to be provided with a brief update each day seems to be too much. I work in the customer service industry that involves a product that we resell and this is not the way to manage these types of issues. Just because you do not make the product yourself doesn't mean that you shouldn't be held just as responsible for having a system in place to resolve these types of issues in a timely manner. We are not talking about a simple meal that came out cold, we are talking about thousands of hard earned dollars that we are giving to a company with the trust that we are receiving a quality product. I'm sure the store contacts are handicapped as a result of bad corporate protocol, however, I am seeing no sense of urgency whatsoever. Should this take a turn for the better, i may consider adjusting my review, in the meantime, i would encourage extreme caution if purchasing from this store. read more
