Long story short, store officials were very apologetic and Mr Dave Thomas came to my house with a mechanic who determined the chair was not repairable. THEN ... THEY HAULED IT AWAY AND CHARGED ME $45 for the hauling. Mr Thomas explained it's company policy. I asked them to change that 'policy' and haven't heard back. Sad.

Yes, he does weigh more than I do, however he's a slim guy. The problem doesn't resolve during the day, when I fold clothes on the bed, my hand, and the clothes, sing into that spot! We, of course complained about this issue, to no real avail. They would take back the mattress of course, but only on an exchange, as we knew going in. However, this is a bit different! Checking with the mattress company they do offer refunds, however this particular store will not! So we are now buying a mattress they don't carry. He had a few selected in his store but had about ten catalogs full of different style furniture to choose from. He gave us a good deal on a queen bed set and two couches .
