Yet it turns out to be much much more than that. Walk into the shop and the building is like a TARDIS, with aisles winding further and further back into the shop. What was more impressive was the content - yes there are pretty boxes, and furnishings, but also candles, a plethora of craft items, a wide array of different coloured candles, cookery utensils, old fashioned sweets, and much much more (and at affordable prices too!). A quick internet search when I got home revealed the shop to be a "Danish lifestyle retailer... selling a range of home accessories, kitchenware and hobby items", and this Dun Laoghaire store is it's first in Ireland, Well worth a look in if you are in town.

It was one of the best customer experiences I have ever had. I had a somewhat awkward situation which Dave went above and beyond to resolve for me, for which I am extremely grateful and is the reason why I am spending the time to write this review. I showed him the existing hardware on my door & was asking about finishes & he was simply rude, talking down my other finishes instead of trying to help. I had to repeatedly ask basic questions about fittings to get an answer. When I asked what the return policy was in case I brought it home & the finish didn't match my other hardware, I was told I couldn't do that, even if I returned it that day. For pieces that are expensive, this seems ridiculous. But the rude service was what guaranteed I wouldn't be back.

However - it might not be for the uncool among the shopping peoples, sadly I am one of them. Yes I walk among you, looking hip and with it, but then I go in to Makers & Brothers and see the oddly shaped bracelets - which my wife tells me are not for people with oddly shaped wrists - I cant see the point, they look uncomfortable... What an incredible store!…read more I've never seen anything like it in the States and apparently it's based in Copenhagen but they do have other stores in Europe, one of them being located right in Dublin. The best way I can explain the store is: It's like an IKEA meets Target... does that make sense? The way things are set up, packaged and organized is exactly like IKEA and then the items they sell are things you'd find at a super target. Things for the home, bath, they even sell knitting/crochet and craft items. Lot's of snacks and cooky - (slightly weird in a good way) looking designs and knick knacks. There were a lot of kitchen/cooking tools too, and designed, I'd say, smaller than average sized so that if you don't have a lot of space, these things would be perfect. I loved this store, I'm really glad there isn't one near me because I have a feeling I'd spend a lot of money unnecessarily here.
