    No frills , From sea to plate in less than 6 hours. This is THE place to get fresh shellfish.

    Very fresh clams. Harvest the same day. You can buy at wholesale prices. They are open from 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Oh ok so then just give me the small - cant do a quart untested - lol Over comes the New England - eeek Ok so then when told - insisted I told him New England and the classic flinging out of the cup after saving the chowder - Thanked Was grateful for the soup - tipped and thought wow - they need to ramp up the front counter - who were also getting clams - one woman gave a waiting tables away to a new person on the line - heard that stressing out my soup guy - When in the Hamptons chill out and thank them - it's a lot to go from 2 to 100 in a few weeks. Dockers is the only place that nails it every time - but you're going to pay for it. All around ok place for all types of seafood - Manhattan chowder is Meh - watery potatoey - But a few fresh clams - so ok. Their claim to fame is their clams and steamers - fresh and delicious. Nice outdoor picnic tables on the deck before the door. Wait service and cool drinks or beer. Insider a few tables for dining in. Very reliably good. Go to chill out and enjoy real locally made soups and fresh seafood.

The east end is a treasure trove of produce and seafood, and you can find a bit of many things in one place here on Saturdays, 9 -1. April through September Rain or Shine is their motto... Lots of cage free organic eggs, poultry, locally caught seafood, a few bakeries like Blue Duck and Sweet Andies cookies, fruit pies, various spices, sauces, honey makers, etc. Even in from "up island" are plants and flowers, further still in from Brooklyn, one vender brings in homemade ravioli ... all kinds from spinach, mushroom, to lobster, and amazing oversized chewy twisted seeded Italian bread, marinara sauce etc. Local grown, in season produce, like strawberries, asparagus etc. Back locally polka dot bakery will give you a fix of variousl flavored pound cake. The star of the show are the ladies at the front that bring in fresh seafood and have super fresh large sea scallops.. Yum!! broil those for something good next to your organic salad... I've been to various markets in Hicksville, Northport Village, and they can be kind of hit or miss and quirky to say the least. So when heading east, its only few minutes south of Montauk Hwy, a block off Main Street in the village. Easy to find.

They also had barley any fruit which I was bummed about. I'm from CT and prefer the farmers markets here TBH.

The restaurant is huge and always busy. They have two levels, and while I prefer sitting upstairs, both spaces are great. This time, I tried their New England Clam Chowder for the first time, and it was phenomenal. There wasn't a grain of sand to be found, and it was absolutely loaded with meaty, perfectly cooked, tender clams. The flavor was unforgettable. It managed to be creamy without feeling heavy. You know when a chowder leaves a thick coating of cream in your mouth that lingers long after each bite? This wasn't like that at all, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad. I've seen it presented this way before, and while it does put a little more work on the diner, it's really not a big deal to use a fork and knife. The lettuce was crisp and cold, the dressing tasted homemade, and the crouton crumble was a game changer. I decided to add the seared blackened scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. The upcharge was a little more than I would have liked for the amount, but it was worth it. After all, who doesn't love a scallop straight from Montauk? That scallop traveled less to get to my plate than I did to get to Hampton Bays. The drinks were festive, the wine was cold, and the atmosphere was lively. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family and have a great time.
