Yesterday was the first time my family and I tried Matteo's. We ordered two large cheese pizzas from their Tuesday special ($17.99 for 2 large cheese pizzas which is a good deal). We ordered for pickup and we noticed how the pie looked a bit small for a large. I mean I guess since it's lower prices than most places in this area, it makes sense. Personally I do not like a lot of sauce on my pizza and this place does go a little heavy on the sauce, but they also add a lot of cheese which I do like and it helped balance everything out, plus the sauce is nicely seasoned. If you like a thin crust that is doughy and not like a crunchy cracker, you would like this pizza. Overall I'm very satisfied with Matteo's so far and so Is my family. I would definitely come back, I'd like to try more of their menu items! read more

I had a really disrespectful and extremely poor experience. My husband calls in at 6pm. They said 45 minutes. Great. 645 comes. 7pm comes. I understand sometimes things run behind. 715 comes, my husband calls and they say the driver just left. No apologies about the inconvenience or anything. We get the food at 720pm. Irritating yes, but okay. Then they don't have any change to give you (this has happened the past two times, not to mentioned the delivery driver looked like he was on something). So my husband comes in to ask if I have any smaller bills and we are scrambling around trying to find something smaller and then for the check book. I go out with the check and ask why they don't carry any change and he made an excuse about having to stop for gas. I call Matteo's and told the guy who answered the phone my experience... a bunch of excuses, no apologies. So I ask to talk to the manager (which I should have done in the first place). I am put on hold again, and while on hold I realized that my order was wrong and didn't have anything but lettuce and cheese on it. When he answers I ask if he was the manager and he replies, "yeah, what's up girl?" I told him first, lets change this real quick and not call me girl. (not sure what kind of manager answers the phone this way). And then as I went to start explaining my issues I was hung up on. I call back. Ask for the manager again. I was put on hold. The delivery driver just got back because I could hear him in the background saying, "The bitch was asking why I didn't have any change. I told her I had to get gas." When the manager comes on AGAIN he listens to my issues. Finally he says, "how about this... how about I rip up the check and the order is on the house." I told him that sounds great and hung up. Now to see if they really do. I am just astonished at the lack of customer service and disrespect. 9/8/2023 Update - I called the shop this morning. The man that answers his phones wants to know why I want to speak to the owner and asks a few times. As soon as I tell him the first issue with the manager, he starts making all kinds of excuses for him and says he is a really good guy and I must have taken it wrong. Tells me to call back after 4pm to speak with Felix or Matteo. It sounds like these are just a bunch of people covering for each other or maybe it was the same "manager" from last night that answered this morning. Idk. This place is a mess and I would steer clear. It would have been nice to have one delivery place nearby, but this place CLEARLY doesn't appreciate our business. read more

Nice location which means great food had pizza again an guy uses a nice sweet tangy sauce for it perfect ratio to cheese can't go wrong an meatball parm one of beat out there . We haven't had pizza from Matteos for a good bit so after reading a lot of good reviews on the local social media page, we ordered a large Supreme pizza. The pizza was very very good. The crust was thin and the onions, peppers, and mushrooms were all fresh and still had some texture. The meats were all good and everything was balanced, not too little or too much. I think the crust would have been crispy but it was delivery. Very friendly service from both the phone and driver. We will order again. read more

This is one of many options for Italian fare in the Oxford area, what attracted me to Matteo's is their Latin cuisine which is not as common in the area. Unfortunately when I try and order from that menu many times they are out of what I ask for, I've still never had a Yuca Ball from there, which I'm doubting exist from the last time I called and the lady had no idea what I was talking about even though it's in their menu online. The food is pretty good, their pizza is tied with one other local place for number 1 in my humble opinion. Give them a try, I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

We ordered delivery here during the Corvid-19 outbreak. We ordered the meat pizza which was great lots of meat the sauce was good and the proper amount of cheese. We also ordered their antipasto salad. Which was really good. Salads are beginning to taste amazing as the seasons change. They got our order delivered to us in a timely fashion. Not bad for a rural pizza joint. The prices aren't terrible and the pizza is average.

My family and I live right down the road, this is our choice whenever ordering out on the weekends. Pizza is great, salads are great.. subs are great!!! Everyone who works there is super friendly. My boyfriend and I are ADDICTED to the Matteos sub. So yummmmmy. We order that and a small Matteos salad and take it off the bread.. *trying* to be a little healthier. Pizza is great! Italian dinners are filling and good value. I took off one star because it's 85 degrees outside, hot ter in the shop because of the ovens, and there's no air conditioning! I have to take a shower when I get home . The staff is always friendly and helpful, I've gotten great suggestions from them. read more

My wife and I have tried every pizza place in Oxford. My favorite is Andre's, her favorite is Matteo's. Pizza is good - not as thick as Andre's - but still delicious. You can share a large pizza from Matteo's without feeling that you've over-eaten. Location is a bit of a problem at night. OK so I ordered a Pizza, Large X cheese half pepperoni. I got it home it was all pepperoni, so i said what the hell I'm hungry I'll eat it. As I was eating it I noticed the bottom crust was BLACK, BURNT, ROASTED. So I called back and said that the crust was burnt may I please bring it back and get a new one? The owner said "I don't burn pizza" I've been making pizza for over 20 years....I WAS FLOORED, anyone know's what burnt crust looks like. I wasn't trying to get one over on him or looking for a free pizza, I just wanted a dam pizza for lunch. I drive back to show him in person, I walk in and he's very nice saying that it will be 5 more minutes so I sit down and waited, the minute the only customer leaves the owner comes over and says this isn't burnt, that's how all the pizza come out, if he was to make another it would look the same. SO at this point I'm getting a little pissed, I want a dam pizza that's not burnt. The owner finally tells me that my pizza's almost done, all the while he's completely arguing with me that it's not burnt. I said to the man in this county good business means good customer service, then he's makes fun of me for saying that he shouldn't be arguing with the customers. After 10-15 minutes of listening to the OWNER yell and scream and threaten me and question where I work and some of the craziest things I've ever heard. I had to say are you giving me a pizza or am I getting my money back cause he wouldn't stop yelling, he took the pizza out of the oven gave it like 4 cuts slammed the box closed and threw it on the table. WOW I said yup that;s the final straw, I'll never be coming back here for any kind of food, the OWNER SAYS you think I care? I have plenty of business. I'm writing this today because in 25 plus years of being in the food service and in life that man was the rudest, most unprofessional, disrespectful, arrogant person I've met in my life. I hope a lot of people read this and don't EVER order any food from this place for the simple reason that if an owner acts like that towards his customers he doesn't deserve to do business in this great Country and I can't imagine how he treats his employee's!
