I truly wish I had nicer things to say. Crest has been a Chicago staple and when I finally was…read moreready to upgrade my lighting again I went back to the place that had been tried and true for me years ago. But it seems that era has ended. I came in a hot mess, I have no design skills. I relied on the sales person to help me and I thought she was amazing. She was kind, patient and seemed to really get me and my condo style - benig "vintage" and wanting to modernize was beyond me. She was super helpful and made me feel like she knew exactly what I needed. That was until I left the showroom. I ordered two ceiling fans from her that day, it wasn't cheap. I also ordered one I'd found on my own online. I hired someone reputable to install them for me and I was all set. But then they left and within days the two I purchased from Crest (different manufacturers) were both on the fritz. Hard to believe for sure, but both manufacturers agreed this was a fluke and they both had inherent issues requiring replacement. And then I had to replace them, which meant I had to pay for the labor again. One of the fixtures is in a room I hadn't needed the fan for in the first year. But then I did, and it didn't work. At that same time I noticed the on/off switch wasn't working properly either. I called the manufacturer and they agreed it was a warranty claim and to call Crest to replace the wall switch. Not something I feel comfortable doing on my own. When I talked to Crest, they said they'd order me a part and well... they did but never called to tell me it had come in. I called on my own three weeks later and they said it was there waiting for me. I verified I could wait for the weekend to get it. Of course they are closed on Sundays so It had to be during the short Saturday hours. I raced to get there in the window only to find a lot of confusion. It wasn't waiting for me at all. The woman who said she'd call me was there and surprised I was asking questions. She said she hadn't heard back from the manufacturer to answer my question about paying for labor, and they all just threw their hands up and said they couldn't help me because the manager wasn't there. Let's just say it's the end of an era and I won't be back for business in the future. Good luck with your purchases after you leave the store.

I have had more luck making an appointment with them when I visit. This company made my first chair 22 years ago and I'm just now, considering purchasing another one. The chair is in fine working condition, but my friend's cat used it as a scratching post when it was in my apartment a while back. The vinyl has a few little holes in it and it doesn't look so nice anymore. Here's the skinny--they are an AMERICAN MANUFACTURING FACILITY. I take this very seriously when purchasing something this expensive. And yes, the AMERICAN PRODUCTS MADE ONSITE cost a bit more than the Chinese products that they also carry (to give people cheaper options). Since the quality is unmatched, I choose them over other companies, period. Once you are in their radar, the service is unmatched too. I'm a customer for life.

I walked around the showrooms and it was a good 15 minutes or so until someone actually came up to me to see if I needed any assistance. It was an older gentleman and though he did take a few minutes to show me some chairs, he wasn't the friendliest nor did he seem genuinely interested in helping me. Overall the showrooms are rather drab and the products fairly pricey. They do have a sale section in the backroom where you might be lucky in finding more affordable salon equipment. And one other downside to this place is that it's only open on weekdays and only until 5 pm - making it a bit more challenging for someone who has a 9-5 job.

Mike let me try them while he went into his office. Not standing over me made it a very comfortable trial. He would check in once in a while. I was there about 1-1/2 hours and left. Mike did not push for a sale. He let the chair do the selling. I called him the next day and ordered the Osaki Manhattan Duo. Two weeks later it arrived and the delivery people were very accommodating and careful. They placed the chair where I wanted it, put it together and ran a check to make sure it was working properly. I have been enjoying the chair every day. So far it has met my expectations.

They chose the easy way out, then ghosted me. Lazy fabrication and zero accountability…read more I am writing this because, as a small business owner, I am disgusted by the lack of professionalism from Factory Plaza. I have been ignored by Jose and the management team for over a week despite my repeated attempts to resolve a botched installation. I grew up the granddaughter of a Stone Mason; I know quality work, and I know when a company is taking shortcuts. I specifically chose my stone because I was told it would NOT require a seam. Later in the process, the story changed. It became clear they simply didn't want to deal with the labor-intensive task of maneuvering a large slab into place--a job that might have required a minor wall repair but would have resulted in the superior finish I paid for. I only begrudgingly agreed to a seam because they promised it would be executed perfectly. My original fears were justified: it was a disaster. The issues: * Poor Craftsmanship: The seam is recessed and uneven. It is a functional defect that collects debris and requires constant scrubbing. * Lack of Effort: While I understand vein matching is difficult, there was clearly no attempt at a professional transition here. It stands out like a sore eye. * Dismissive Management: After a failed "repair" (just smeared epoxy), the stone manager told me "nothing more can be done." In an era of digital fabrication, that is a flat-out lie. I would never dream of treating my own clients with this level of neglect. If the check has cleared, Factory Plaza is finished with you. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the kitchen island turned out well and Gina in the front office was a sweetheart who went above and beyond to try and remedy the situation. It's a shame the owners and management don't share her work ethic. They desperately need professional development in customer service and quality control. We loved the product, but our interactions from the start were discomforting, so we brought our designer in to sit down with their "consultant", share our wall dimensions and finalize the design. When the wall system came in, many weeks late, it was too small for the space. Their response varied from: 1) Telling us they told our designer the size we were ordering was too small but she ordered it anyway (absurd, of course); 2) Telling us to go buy metal disks, on our nickel, to make the system fit; and 3) Ignoring us. Their staff's product knowledge is spotty, ordering is painful, and their customer support lacking. It's shocking that Rimadesio has chosen them as their N. American distributor. We needed one more component and went all the way to Denver to get it to avoid another interaction with Dom.
