Drivers are reckless and have some serious road rage issues. Just had driver aggressively tailgating, swerving in and out of lanes, cursing, screaming and flipping people off out his window. He wasn't even on the right side of the highway to respond to the accident he was towing for and cars were pulled over to the sides of the lanes as far they could be, but he still was raging and trying to plow right through. Almost rear-ended me and had to burn rubber not to. This is dangerous and unacceptable behavior from a motorist responding to a roadside emergency. read more

Mind you they towed my car, I had called while the office was still open and they told me I had to wait until the next day to pick it up because the office had been closed! When I went the day of ; early as ever , they wanted to charge me for the overnight stay and for the model of my vehicle being electric another extra costly price to take it out , nearly $700 just for one night . We were their victims. They colluded with WAWA in the wyomissing borough to scalp No King protestors who may have been WAWA patrons but also part of the protest held for only an hour and a half. WAWA got more business in that time period from the protesters and Matos were called at least 3 tow trucks at one time to pick up vehicles, and wait around for owners to come back to their car and pay them $180 cash only. They pointed to WAWA signs (which actually did not meet pa requirements to post at entrances and exits in large metallic letters about towing) They did not provide police numbers that authorized their towing for each car. THE WORST RUDE SERVICE YOU WILL EVER RECEIVE DONT GO HERE!! They charged $610 for TWO HOURS for a stolen vehicle in an accident and wanted the VICTIM to pay !!! The gentlemen showing us where the car was but also on the phone trying to buy a red motorcycle from someone. And then took a break to scream at the victim. The poor Victim got yelled at for trying to take kitty litter out of her own trunk! So unprofessional and heartless. I am disgusted at the woman's attitude at the front desk she was not helpful at all and LOVES the sound of her OWN VOICE. Hence the longest voicemail greeting I have EVER heard. My car would not start and it was stuck at a restaurant. I called and the customer service person who was a lady was extremely courteous. Told me and estimated time and they delivered. Driver was ignorant, he backed up and almost hit us standing on the side, damaged my van,denied doing the damage when I have the whole thing on video then charged $550 for almost running us over and damaging the van. They have a contract with PA state police so we had no choice but to let him do the job when I had a truck there for $125 to do the same exact job. read more

Wish I could give negative 5 star review, first off this company has a contract with the state police which im sure pocket some of the cash. So I got stuck in a ditch... OK yes my falut so I had a tow truck company come out for $125.00, so since someone call the police this company came out n police said it trumps my tow company. So had to use them, so the driver not only was a complete failure/miserable person. Almost ran my wife over/the other tow company I had already out there. Didn't have a care in the world state police either. So as he pulls my car out, damaging the vehicle said it wasn't his falut when I have proof of the vehicle before he started.. anyway so he pulled the vehicle from the ditch. Than said $550.00..... WHAT!!!! This place took our car to their storage yard against our wishes and the fee is huge. I have notified the Reading police who, evidently, have a contract with them (through the city) so that they can gouge us all. We all have the right - by law - at the scene of the accident, to have them tow it elsewhere (in our case about a block up the hill from the accident) but they didn't. the best towing companies to be and have have been in reading. they help with pricing if you're respectful and help with any other help needed. i'll tell you right now if anyone has bad reviews on this it's because 1 , they're guilty and know they were in the wrong or just too immature to realize it or 2 , came in with an attitude thinking anyone is gonna look at them like they're worth helping or 2 . the prices are great they treat customers as well as their workers with the upmost respect. never heard so many grown people thinking that over due tickets or parking in front of hydrants or in handicap is not enough of a reason to get their shyt taken away. Created this Yelp account just to express how unprofessional this organization and business is. I mistakenly parked in a towing area and as I was coming out to my vehicle they had the cable hooked up to my truck. It was not yet on the tow truck and it had not moved whatsoever. I apologized and said I would gladly move the vehicle and there was no reason to tow me. They refused to remove the cable unless I paid them $50. There was a guy next to me that was in the same situation but they actually had part of his vehicle on the truck. Apparently the other guy knows someone that works at the company and they let him go without paying a cent. I was aware of this and asked that I be given the same treatment. The guys refused and said they would not remove the cable unless I paid them. The gentleman who got away free even asked them to remove the cable and to let me move but they again declined. It was my mistake for parking in the wrong area and I have no issues with paying for a penalty if everyone is treated the same. This is completely unprofessional in giving preferential treatment to certain people when the same violation is being committed. I will never suggest this business to anyone and I will go out of my way to express to everyone I know not to use Matos towing for any service. read more

I lost my car key at Ross' s Store on Papermill Rd. Reading as i was traveling to NJ from York PA. Being stranded 1hr away either direction York or NJ, i stayed overnite in Reading til the next day Monday. My Sunday was stressful to say the least!!! Things got better on MONDAY, when Tony and his helper frm Matos towing carefully and efficiently towed my Infiniti to Bennett Infiniti in Allentown PA. Thank you, both for being corteous and waiting to make sure your job had been completed to my (the customer) satisfaction. I have you down for any future needs. They wound up selling my account, against my knowledge and consent, with just a few hundred dollars left to pay off, after I just got done telling them I was going to pay it off completely, to a finance company in Texas (I am in PA) with a very, VERY bad reputation. After making an advanced payment to them -when I did not realize my account had already been sold and they still chose not to inform me even though we spoke every 2 weeks over the phone - they neglected to update the finance company of the updated due date and I had to fight with the finance company for 3 days to get things straightened up. When I asked Mato's for assistance, they said "there is nothing we can do, your account is already sold". Now I have to pay 6$ for every payment which was NOT apart of our written agreement. I also looked into my contract after all this and it does not say LITERALLY that I given them permission to sell my account. I have already told them, I will NEVER do business with them again. Their vehicles are NOT worth the prices they slap on them but I bought mine there because of the guaranteed financing since I had no credit. Just be careful! read more
