We walked in on Friday night and were greeted by the owner. He's a very attentive host and went above and beyond explaining each dish and how fresh they were. We ended up ordering the beef tartare with seared scallops and steak. It was to die for. The steak was accompanied by their homemade sauce. The owner paired both of our dishes with the perfect wine, it was his suggestion by the way. We topped everything off with two massive cheesecakes for desert. We both left this place satisfied! We will definitely come back again, especially in the summer where you can sit close to the docks and watch the boats sail by!

The atmosphere is so warm and chic, but the food and service somehow managed to trump the decor. We were served a variety of different charcuterie items, none of which I was even able to properly photograph sadly because of how quickly they were devoured! A mix of house-made breads, cheeses and roasted vegetables were served before plates of tender beef roast were brought to the table. Everything tasted delicious and so fresh. Above all, the staff were amazing and made us feel as if we had been invited into their home for dinner! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful spot for a delicious meal.

Finally a place to enjoy excellent food and drinks in a comfortable ambiance!!!…read more Being in town from Texas and visiting family, I wanted to have a good meal out and I found Embers Restaurant & Bar to be a true gem for food, service and atmosphere!!!. With its authentic cuisine and attention to detail in the quality of the ingredients used, it's the place to go to for a higher end restaurant in the area. From the Beet Salad to both the Elk and Salmon Tartare's and to the Grilled Salmon I had and more, everything was fresh, flavorful and delicious. This even includes the quality of the coffee beans used in their coffee drinks and the Bourbon used in their Chocolate Bourbon desert. And the team from Irene my waitress to Christine the manager and to Zach the bar tender, everyone was very professional and knowledgeable. Providing excellent customer oriented service. If you want a comfortable ambiance, their contemporary design will transport you to a stylish and warm downtown setting and their menu of classic dishes with a creative twist will satisfy the most discerning palate and leave you wanting to come back again and again. Whether you go for a full meal or just a desert with a flavorful espresso, or two, or simply spend part of the day sipping drinks or a good glass of wine or beer on-tap, it's the place to go to satisfy your palate. Enjoy!

Then, tried their ceviche which was very good 5/5. Finally, tried their lobster roll, which I'd give a 3/5 as they were way too salty and the lobster didn't taste that fresh - maybe it was frozen or maybe it was a bit overcooked. I'd be curious to go back and try more items from their menu. I wouldn't go to Laval specifically for this, but if I happened to be around I would certainly go back to this restaurant. Cheers!

It is a cool concept, something I don't run across too often at home for nicer establishments. Wine glasses were already on the table, but they were cleared when I told them we had no wine. The menu is 3 courses, soup or salad, an entree and a desert. I had the penne with vodka sauce, my wife has the salmon and her mom had the lamb chops. Everything was very tasty and the servings were plenty, especially for lunch. The restaurant was huge and fairly empty mid day, which makes sense as I am sure it appeals mainly to business lunches. The deserts were pretty small, but that is fine, since it provides a nice sweet cap to the meal without getting too heavy. Coffee is also included.
