This restaurant/bar is one of my new favourite place in the Hochelaga neighborhood. The place is…read morebig with lots of seating but can get very crowded on a weekend night. The atmosphere is pretty chill, I even saw a guy playing cards at another table. We were greeted by an employee who sat us immediately. They have large choice of beer, wine and liquor. I ordered beer along with an onion soup. It tasted great, comforting and pairing very well with the beer. My friend ordered an stout beer with ham poutine. The portions are very large and you'll be completely stuffed after eating there. The waitress came often to check on us and had very good recommendations for drinks. I would highly recommend for a relaxing night at the bar or dinner with friends. No fuss just good drinks and food.

Guiness was excellent (I would hope so in an Irish pub), as was the shot of Jameson. Her Fish and Chips were skimpy, mostly fries. My Burger Tip & Top (actually chicken, not beef) was interesting, but not quite what I was looking for. Again, portion was very small, with lots of fries to fill the plate. Staff was friendly, but with the crowd very slow. I'd come again for a beer, but I'd leave the kitchen alone.

The Lachine waterfront is quite notorious, with the beautiful views, the marina and the line of…read morerestaurants/terraces. It does not however have a pub/bar. This is where Bar Trois Devins comes in. Ambiance/decor : Very clean (including bathrooms). It has a heavy, sombre feel, with wooden beams and exposed brick, which is very appropriate. Drinks : What differs them from most bars is that they import beers and stay off the mainstream track. Kudos. Their cocktails aren't decorated like Mardi Gras, but very well mixed and taste good. Service : I was actually impressed on how fast our waiter served us, considering the bar was completely full. (to both bring our orders and when we were ready to check out). PRO : Location. Many enjoy the restaurants on that strip, yet feel that their night is cut short due to regular restaurant hours. It's right next to (walking distance) all the restaurants and is open late. CON : Due to the fact that it's one of the only bars in the area, it can sometimes attract a clientele that may not be right for you. If you are with a small or larger group, this would go unnoticed however. NOTE : This could be an interesting place to rent (as a venue). Reason of 3* rating : I was not blown away, considering Montreal is a bar&restaurant capital, but nothing disappointed me or anyone at my table.

I would give it 4.5 only because of the 2 obnoxiously loud gentlemen when we were there (it's not…read morethe businesses fault but the clientele at a place does affect our enjoyment of it). Stopped by around 10 on a Wednesday night for a post meal pint. The place itself is very much pleasing to the eye. Reasonably priced draft with craft beers and a lot of imports you won't find most places (from Sam Addams to Bass). Scotch / whiskey collection behind the bar was nothing to joke about and the glass wall cellar was quite impressive. As for the staff, they were relaxed enough to make me believe it might have been the owner / manager and he was really top notch. He kept a good humor going with us throughout our stay without being too intrusive. Would definitely stop by to try their other beers if I find myself back in the area.

You walk in and there's a clothing store on one side and black curtains straight ahead. I just stood there confused for a second until someone suddenly appeared and escorted me through the curtains, down a long dark hallway, and into this intimate, dimly lit bar. Turns out, I had accidentally stumbled into a speakeasy. The space is tiny--maybe 6-8 seats at the bar and a long banquet along the wall for 10-12 more people. No menus either. They ask what you like and don't like, then craft a cocktail specifically for you. The pours are generous and the bar is stocked with top-shelf liquor. About a drink and a half in, I realized I needed actual food immediately and had to leave. The staff was friendly, personable, and chatty, and because the space is so intimate, you naturally end up talking with the people around you. Definitely more of a solo or date-night spot than a group hang. Such a cool, unexpected experience.
