My family and I were warmly greeted into Brasserie Bois Blanc by Martin, one of the owners and brewmasters- I knew things were starting off well from the get-go. After explaining the tasting flights to us and welcoming us, Martin met with another patron and sat down at one of the tasting room tables with a "Magic: The Gathering" deck and began to hang out in his own brewery. So rad. I had the IPA flight and was particularly enchanted with the common ale. The rest of my family was really into the imperial stout (tastes like a 9% cold brew!). A lot of the other patrons (mostly fellas of a wide range of ages) were also playing games at their tables, while of course enjoying pints of microbrew. It all makes me wish I lived closer- I wanna hang out here!

We started with oysters from PEI and New Brunswick. Loved that they let you choose the units so we only ordered 4 (2 each). We also had as appetizer their foie gras parfait and tomatoes from our garden. Both we wonderful choices. The tomatoes were perfect for the season with a beautiful balance of tomatoes, stracciatella and focaccia. Foie is a classic and loved the grilled bread and pickled vegetables to accompany it. Our entrees were the lamb rump, braised shoulder and butcher cut steak and frites which was the hangar steak. The lamb was delicious and very hearty in a good way. The steak was perfectly prepared and the frites stayed warm the entire meal with their presentation. We ended with their house fav passion fruit pavlova. Light and airy texture with lovely flavor. Nice way to compete the meal!

I looked at the menu to try and see if that was something we needed to order as an app. I did not see it on the menu so I assume it's just given as your app while you wait for your dinner. I got the beef tartar as my main dish. You have the option of picking between a garden salad or fries to go with it. I went with the fries. They are served with some mayo, just like I like it. For dessert, I picked a crème brûlée with a cheese platter . Crème brûlée comes with a lovely crust , which I honestly enjoyed quite a lot. It is a very thin layer of crème brûlée with a thicker than usual sugar crust. The cheese platter came with three very small piece some bread and a jam. I would believe to be blueberries. I was disappointed by the cheese platter not because the cheese were bad ones but just because it was a three bite done deal. I would've liked a bigger portion to share.
