Drinks: an impressive array of local and non-local microbrews. My husband loved his until I ordered a Snakebite (half blonde, half cider, with a ruby kiss of creme de cassis for which it's named) and he tried it. His face fell. It was the perfect drink for a warm summer night, one we have replicated many times since for our family and friends. Food: we shared a market salad and a margherita pizza. Both were outstanding. The salad was very fresh (arugula, beets, chevre) and perfectly dressed with a light vinaigrette. The pizza came with a thin crust, expertly charred, and a well-placed array of fresh toppings -- mozzarella, basil and tomato sauce. It was a lovely meal. Service: our server was friendly and fun -- a little sarcastic but I like that. He kindly indulged our non-perfect French. Bonus: It was ladies' night, which meant I got 2 free beer tickets. What?! These guys definitely delivered. As it turned out the day we popped in they were hosting a short film launch. The whole event was adorable and made me really feel like this was a community bar. In general I found the space accessible and patrons were relatively diverse. I definitely felt welcome. Beer and drink selection was notably diverse, though not overwhelming. The snack menu is limited but affordable and provides standard beer accompaniment fare (nuts, olives, chips, cheese, etc.). Finally, service was friendly and attentive and you could tell who were the regulars here given how they interacted with staff. It's just the kinda place where everyone seems to be pals, you know?

The prices are really decent - since this is the East-o'-Papineau part of Mont-Royal where everything gets slightly cheaper and slightly weirder. I have yet to see a show here, but I really like the way the space is set up for it. They seem to get a couple of bands a month, though the website looks kind of slow for shows at the moment... It is the absolute perfect size though, large enough for a crowd, small enough to be an intimate setting. As for summer, there is no terrace, but in typical Ave Mont-Royal pub style, the front window opens wide for a bit of a breeze. For me it's more of a cozy winter spot anyway. The servers are always welcoming and friendly, and you know I love that. They lose one star because I think the menu could be ever so slightly more interesting, but I have snacked to satisfaction here on one or two occasions.

We were super glad we checked them out because it had everything we were looking for. First, the craft selection was on point and quite ample. The NEIPA's I had were spot on. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec un service exécrable, des regards hautains et une attitude méprisante du personnel. Jusque-là, on aurait pu mettre ça sur une mauvaise journée... mais la suite a confirmé qu'il s'agissait plutôt d'un **manque total de professionnalisme**. Nous avons également été victimes d'un comportement **clairement discriminatoire** sous prétexte de notre apparence, ce qui est totalement inacceptable en 2025 ! Comment un établissement peut-il encore tolérer ce genre de pratiques ? Côté prix, c'est une **arnaque pure et simple**. Des boissons surfacturées, des verres mal dosés et une addition salée qui ne reflète en rien la qualité du service ni des produits.
