For instance, they will not only learn the history behind the Mid Autumn Festival, they will do activities related to it as well. Class sizes are small enough for intimate teaching, and the teachers are exceptionally hardworking and caring. In addition, the teachers are not licensed to teach in the U.S. I am hiring a private tutor (the expense is still far less than attending this academy). They make sure their explanations are clear and detailed, and they check for understanding. With the less effective teachers, you may need to advocate for yourself more and do additional work independently to get your doubts resolved. Math instruction here is a particular strength!!Shout-out to my goat Victor, his guidance helped me ace a Pre-Calculus test I was convinced I was going to die during. On SAT prep specifically: after attending both Elite and C2 bootcamps, I personally no longer believe SAT prep courses are even worth it. just get good at desmos bro, you don't need to even know math to do well (as someone who scored 1500). If you are set on doing a bootcamp however, C2 was by far the better experience between the two. For college applications, I would not recommend spending your hours here. While they offer college-app help, in my experience they're not especially attuned to what admissions offices prioritize, nor do they try to research it at all. You'll likely get more value from the excellent (and free) resources available on YouTube. That said, their writing + ELA support for school is fine so dw about that. MADE coffee is almost right next door and I love getting coffee before I go in Saturday mornings, that is a mega plus. overall, I really like coming here and it has saved my butt multiple times. the community of it all is wonderful and they make you feel encouraged no matter what. I'm someone who has to engage with a topic multiple times to understand something, so often I feel pretty stupid when I go to other places for tutoring help, but I never feel like that at all here! We had told her up front that our child has behavioral issues including ADHD, and she reassured us that they work with children like this all the time, which is why we chose Sylvan to begin with. But after one month of disappointment, we had no choice but to stop. It's as if she gave up on our our child. And when it came time to leave, she offered us nothing--no apology, no guidance, no recommendations, no hope, no closure, nothing. By the way our kids also reported that one of the tutors even threw my kid's stuffed animal across the room against a wall. We understand our kid shouldn'tve brought it in the first place, but that doesn't excuse such violent behavior. Lastly our children built up thousands of "points" but never knew how to redeem them and were never even offered the chance to do so. In short, don't waste your time and money here. Your children deserve so much better.

She assured me that they will work with him because they have dealt with kids with ADHD in the past. She also reassured me that there are some kids who displayed similar findings with assessments and they showed improvement. I also ended up enrolling my 2 other younger children here to accompany my other son. We did not want my other son to feel as if there was something wrong with him especially since he was already struggling academically, behaviorally not to mentioned he was discouraged and had low self esteem. I had such high hopes but unfortunately things didn't quite work out as I had hoped. The tutors were all wonderful and professional. They all tried so hard to help my son but unfortunately his behavior and disruption to others students became an issue. My other two kids did great at the end and were doing well but unfortunately my one son that desperately needed the most help, did not. I guess despite the great rating they cannot always help everyone. Each child has a different personality, learning style and ability and unfortunately it was my son that was too far to be reached. I wish that it could have worked out. But unfortunately I sensed a lot of frustration hence the long text messages as well as a brief update from Minera one afternoon. She updated me regarding my son's behavior and inability to move forward in the curriculum due to his refusal to show his work and knowledge of the subject. I sensed her frustration, in which I do not blame her. I would have hoped that they would have been able to be more professional and knowing how to deal with kids with ADHD like they said they did. It was discouraging and upsetting to see the opposite attitude, body language and demeanor this time around. Her voice as well as her facial expressions did not offer any sense of hope or recommendations to help improve or change the situation. I feel Minera gave me a false sense of hope and did not deliver their promise. Thank you to all the tutors though who did try to help my son. At the beginning, we were invited to a group chat with teachers and staff, where responses were prompt and communication felt excellent - a major reason we chose the program. Regrettably, this responsiveness faded after a few months, with far more messages left unread or ignored than addressed. Additionally, we received no detailed academic updates about my son's progress throughout his entire time there. Teachers barely greeted you when picking up a child. Maybe this is the norm, but as a Korean mom who attended Korean hagwons (after school programs) before, in addition to being a teacher at an after-school program myself for five years in the past, this felt a bit rude and very unwelcoming. My son can have challenging behaviors, something I was transparent about from day one. I do appreciate that the staff worked with him over the months. However, after his dismissal in April, the lack of communication became especially concerning. I have followed up multiple times about the prorated refund for the unused portion of April's tuition and clarification on the refundable status of the enrollment deposit. Despite this, Grace, the program manager, has not responded since April. I gave her two months before writing this review. Additionally, when I directly asked Grace whether news of his dismissal had been shared with other parents, she assured me it had not. That said, I have since sensed uncomfortable vibes from certain parents whose children are in the same class, leading me to wonder if information was shared after all (my gut feeling tells me it has, because what are the chances? Timing is too coincidental). Regardless of the reason for dismissal, families deserve transparent billing, timely financial resolution, and basic professional courtesy. Being left in the dark after months is both surprising and disheartening. This has been a very negative, unwelcoming, and unprofessional experience. This place cannot be trusted. They follow their own material, and I'm not sure how that would be helpful if you are trying to have your child perform better in math at school, since it does not line up with school math. Considering the long hours of sitting and test-taking to come, I was really nervous about how comfortable I would be here in this space I'v e never been before. Upon entering I was greeted by Brittany with a very friendly, calming energy. She helped me figure out the do's and don'ts on test day and really made me feel welcome. Furthermore, before the security checks I encountered Edgar who was very professional and detailed on what would happen and if I had scheduled or unscheduled breaks. Since my test was so long Joe ended up taking over Edgar's shift and he was also very helpful and efficient at his job. I really enjoyed how comfortable the chairs were and the cleanliness, comfort, and cool temperature of this Prometric test taking center. The bathrooms were also private and clean. I've taken tests at multiple Prometric testing centers, and this was by far the worst experience…read moreI've had compared to how kind, professional, and accommodating the staff have been at other locations. The two young female staff members working at this location were incredibly rude and condescending throughout the testing process. Given that standardized tests can already be extremely anxiety-inducing, I found their demeanor to be particularly off-putting and unprofessional. I understand that testing centers have strict policies that need to be followed, but those policies can be communicated respectfully and professionally. Additionally, I brought a water bottle with a non-spill sports cap so that I could easily drink water during the test. In the middle of my exam, one of the staff members interrupted me to tell me to close the lid. Being interrupted during an already stressful, timed examination for something as minor as this was extremely distracting and, in my opinion, could have easily been handled during a less disruptive moment. The physical testing environment also left a lot to be desired. The door to the testing area is extremely loud, and every time someone entered or exited, the door would loudly bang. This happened repeatedly throughout the exam and was very distracting. For a testing center where concentration is essential, I would expect basic measures such as a soft-closing mechanism or other solution to minimize unnecessary noise. Finally, there is only one bathroom stall at this location. Considering that many people begin their exams around the same time and have scheduled breaks at similar times, it seems inadequate for the number of test-takers the center accommodates. It would not be surprising for test-takers to have to wait in line during their limited breaks, which creates an unnecessary additional source of stress. Overall, I found this testing center to be significantly less professional and accommodating than other Prometric locations I have used. I hope these concerns are taken seriously, particularly the staff conduct and repeated environmental distractions, as both can have a meaningful impact on a test-taker's ability to perform to the best of their ability.
