My son has been going to Kumon for little over a year now. He used to go there a few years back as…read morewell, but I pulled him out of Kumon to send him to a different program (robotics class) in a different place which was useless. I realized my son lost almost a year's worth of learning experience at Kumon. My son is doing math and reading. He is progressing significantly in both subjects. He even got a medal for his excellent achievement in math during their recent award ceremony. It encouraged him so much that he is determined to get medals and trophies in both subjects at next award ceremony next year. He is at 4th grade as school. He usually has no homework from school. So, if he was not doing Kumon, all he would be doing at home is either watch tv or play online games. Kumon homework keeps him busy at least a few hours each week. Of course, it keeps me busy too checking his homework. Mrs. Lee is fully aware of each kid's learning needs and parent's expectations. She makes sure kids are getting best of their time and parents are happy to see their kids grow academically. If you have kids, give it a try and I guarantee you will be happy with your decision! We decided to enroll our son at Montessori of Chantilly because after going through a long list of…read morepreschools in the area, I really did not find a place that "felt right and safe" specially during COVID except for this one. I communicated with Ms. Kaltun, the director and I must say, after speaking to her once, I was "sold" at putting my son at her school. She is very personable, very kind and understanding, genuine and just listened to my questions, concerns and answered them confidently which gave me peace of mind sending my son over to a school during the pandemic. We then went to the school for a tour and met Ms. Komala, our son's primary teacher. At first meeting, our son felt very comfortable with her and he never forgot her name even tho it took us about 4 months before starting in class- she sure gave him a good impression and really showed us how much she cared for the children. I have so much good things to say about the school. I have recommended them to my friends and coworkers who also had good experience with them. Overall, this is a place that cares about our children, they do not look at them as numbers like all the others. If you want quality education and a safe place for your children, this is it.

Her reading comprehension is strong and her attention is much improved. The thing that I really appreciate about the teachers is the fact that they want to learn more about the respective cultures of the student body so that they can prepare them for the diverse world that exists outside of the school. My daughter is part of such a warm and welcoming environment, so much so that they even invited parents to come in and contribute towards a special event yesterday to better understand and appreciate the importance of Lunar New Year to my family and the other families that celebrate. As a dad, I will always be thankful for that. Highly recommend.

As I…read morelooked at the other preschools around I quickly realized that St. David's was the ONLY school which offered a program just for this. I did not want my son to repeat "4 year old " school. St. David's also has an outdoor program called "K-Wild" which is an outdoor school 2 days a week before his regular school. Literally you would dress the kids for the climate and they would be outside. With both of these options I knew that St. David would be a perfect fit. Last year I had both kids at St. David's and quickly realized I found my place. This is my 3rd preschool I have attended and by far the most warm, loving and nurturing. The community at St. David's is amazing. My only wish is that I had started there earlier. That extra year was the best decision ever and if you are ever on the fence about doing it....DO IT. You won't regret it!

This is a nurturing environment where children grow in all aspects of their development. Beginning as infants, children participate in circle time each morning and are exposed to a variety of concepts. As children grow into toddlerhood, they are taught to care for their environment by cleaning their space and pushing in their chair as well as for the people around them by using "please" and "thank you" in their interactions. Gross and fine motor skills are worked on at each developmental stage starting with tummy time to using a writing utensil by toddlerhood. Children develop their language skills through music, offered once a week in English and once a week in Spanish. Classrooms are arranged for materials and activities to be accessed by children independently. Children are provided an opportunity to participate in educational activities of personal choice, following the Montessori approach. Every day my child has been at Montessori Children's Center Herndon, I have been confident they are in excellent hands and they are in an enriched learning environment!
