The StudyPro

The StudyPro

My son had 2 concussions and was diagnosed with Executive Functioning Disorder. I felt helpless and…read moredidn't know where to turn to help him return to being an A/B student (pre concussion). I found The Study Pro and immediately they were encouraging, understanding, warm, supportive and knowledgeable. Shortly after attending my son said to me they are helping him back to being an A/B student. He loves going and now smiles, studys and is 2 points away from getting all A's again. Thanks you The Study Pro for believing in my son and helping him to not only believe in himself but also being excited that college is once again a possibility! I would absolutely 100% recommend The Study Pro for EF students and anyone else that is searching of ways to help themselves or kids from becoming unstuck academically.

From the owner: The StudyPro is an Executive Function and Study Skills Center. We are the only learning center…read morededicated to improving the study skills and habits of students. Our Essential Study Skills course teaches critical skills -- such as time management, organization, note-taking, and test prep -- that are required, but not fully taught in schools. Our Homework Center is a place where students come to plan and complete work, and is supported by subject-matter experts across all subject areas. Our 1:1 coaching helps to support students on a weekly basis with organizing work, breaking down ("chunking") longer-term assignments, assessing what may have gone wrong on tests, providing strategies for managing time and materials and creating a weekly work "plan". We work with students on organizing and studying for all tests and have special workshops to support mid-terms and finals. We also hold a highly-attended (free) "Lunch and Learn" series for parents where local experts speak on topics such as fostering motivation and helping students push through frustration. If your son or daughter is smart, yet still struggles with some aspects of study or Executive Function skills, we have built this center for you.

Tutoring Club

Last summer we started our two children at the Tutoring Club. Our oldest child's 6th grade teacher…read moresuggested he get some summer help to skip a year of math and enroll in Honors 7 at LMS. With the help of the Tutoring club he was able to work on his math skills last summer. He was not eligible to start in Honors 7 because his SOL scores were 2 points away from where he needed to be. He completed 1 semester in regular math where he was getting straight A's and was bored so his teacher promoted him to Honors 7. He ended the year with a B+. He was able to bring homework to the club when he needed an extra explanation of the materials which helped him tremendously. My other son was enrolled for Reading comprehension due to the drop in his SOL scores from 4th to 5th grade by 100 points. His 5th grade teacher was not the best and he didn't learned much in 5th grade from her. He started 6th grade with a 2 in Reading Comprehension in the first quarter, raised it to a 3 in the 2nd quarter and for the 3&4th quarters got a 4. The tutoring club has taught him many strategies in how to read with comprehension and answer questions by the process of elimination. This summer my children are working on their writing skills which is another area that most kids need additional instruction on since teachers can't individually help all students. We have been more than happy with the Tutoring Club and the help our children have received from all the wonderful tutors they have on staff.

I would give them zero rating if available. There don't really care for teaching the kids. Our son…read morewas attending this tutoring club for several months. No reading improvement after 77 hours spent there. It turned out that he needed different methods for learning and this club is not for that. After talking to them, they were supposed to send us written assessment of our son's progress and we never got it. The only respond we got was that our son was loosing concentration after 20 min each time and they did not communicate that to us at all!!! Obviously they don't care if they actually teach your kids anything or just taking money from you!!! Not to mention that we have troubles to refund our money as we prepaid at discounted rate.
