My son is a wonderful example of what the school have done for us - he was placed in a soccer class with kids 10-12 and he carry himself in such a great way - I. Am so proud of him. Meadows make this all possible . My daughter when she started 1 grade she was such a good student ( reader) the school created a reading class that included her as the only 1st grader. I have so much to say about this school and it is all good . She started as an 18 month old she was in the height of her stranger danger era, yet she opened up within 1 day and created bonds with her teachers and friends. I get updates throughout the day including feedings, diapers and even photos of her having the best time with her teachers and classmates which really put my worrying mom brain at ease. Every day, she surprises us with how much she's learned: letters, words (English, Spanish, and sign language), colors, animals- and she genuinely enjoys it. Sometimes, I have to work to entice her to leave! As two working parents with often opposing schedules, the on site chef is a major convenience as it leaves one less thing for us to worry about. The staff is warm, patient, kind, fun, and engage the kids in a variety of activities to keep them learning and having fun. They readily chat with me about her day and answer any questions I may have. I get daily reports about what she's learning, eating, dsiaper changes and potty training, naps, and loads of fun pictures! She's not always an angel and they apply patience, thoughtful boundaries, and kindness in helping her learn the appropriate behaviors. I had to chime in and improve the rating as one person had a different experience eight years ago and gave one star, but we truly value this business and wanted to share our experience.

I…read morecould detail my many minor frustrations with the lack of communication and what seems to be intentional deceit with moving students between classes without notifying parents, but I feel the two major incidents that caused us to leave will speak for themselves: In the last week and a half my daughter was first directly given a known allergen by a staff member, causing an ER visit and extremely stressful day for my whole family. To be clear, this was not an accidental exposure - she was handed a cup of milk despite having a well-documented allergy to milk. Yesterday, my daughter was sent home with dried feces caked on the back of her shirt from a BM that occurred at 10 AM. She was walking around all day with a significant amount of feces on her. Based on the fingerprints and smudges she was touching it frequently, so it is fair to assume that everything she touched and even the other children she interacted with were exposed to the potential bacteria and illnesses known to be in feces. When I called to address both issues their response essentially amounted to 'mistakes happen.' Obviously this was extremely upsetting given these two incidents so close together, which clearly indicates a larger issue. After a tense but professional phone call with the owner I was told my daughter was no longer allowed to attend, effective immediately. Luckily we were already making plans since we didn't feel she was safe there anyway, but I was still appalled that rather than bear responsibility they chose to dismiss it. I am truly fearful for every student in that center. I don't know what it is happening but there is a clear lack of appropriate management and it is putting kids' well being at risk.

Having come from an urban environment where people really don't care for anyone but themselves, it stunned me to feel the kindness and gentle nature of the students and staff. We're not gushy folks, but it's hard to resist the loving and creative vibe from the school and kids - they are really a family. They are ever ready to help and always look out for each other. If someone is sad or hurt, there's always another child and staff member there to make them feel better. It's part of their nature. The school's director, Kit Hays, is passionate and dedicated to the students and families. She pours her heart into developing the most creative and thoughtful curriculum as well as carefully weaving in modernity and diversity. Not only are the staff skillfully qualified as Montessori instructors, they truly love teaching and nurture all their students. Students are encouraged to develop their existing strengths and are supported to take on new challenges when they are ready (like reading) - really meeting kids where they are and helping them to shine. Kids are not forced into learning; it seems like they sort of bloom when they are ready. Using this gentle approach, it's amazing to see how many kids are reading and counting at such a young age. They integrate many aspects of learning into their daily routine so there's no real separation between laughter and learning - it's one and the same. Even when they play games, there's a thoughtful educational element embedded in the fun. You can tell the kids enjoy every second they are there while, even when they are in "work time". At one point my daughter was having a difficult time going to school, weepy and clingy when it was time to go. Each day when we arrived at school, Ms. Kit and a handful of children were there to greet my daughter - a welcome committee! They literally embraced her and reminded her that she was an integral part of the family. We feel so lucky to have been able to join the Rainbow family (no wonder there's a waiting list every year!) and know our daughter has the educational foundation and confidence to succeed in her entire school career and life. We are ever thankful for all they have given our family. Our daughter is inquisitive, open-minded, thoughtful and thirsty for knowledge and challenges - just like all the children lucky enough to be part of the Rainbow family.

However, BELA combines both the montessorie approach with the traditional approach (best of both worlds). They have some of the most dedicated teachers (who are all certified). And in addition to that, the school sits in a 54 acre campus, so the kids get to hike and do all of the outdoorsy stuff. This pre-school is aimed at those who want the best for their kids without breaking the pocket. The prices are very competitive and the kids get the ultimate experience. But the cafeteria staff on the other hand is horrible. In 2013 we found out my son is allergic to milk not lactose intolerant but allergic to milk. I filled out the paper work all is well. But my son has stomach aches, throwing up and was admitted in the hospital. I go to the school put money in his account and tell the lunch attendant he can not have milk is that in his account she says yes. 2014 I go to have lunch with my son,why does my son have pizza? I go to the lunch attendant at the register and tell her about him being allergic to milk again. My son barley eats cafeteria lunch he packs but once in awhile he wants to buy lunch and he should be able to. Today I decide to go have lunch with my son and guess what he brings to the lunch table pizza! I was beside myself I go to the lunch attendant she apologizes and says she saw the allergy pop up but he picked pizza wth he is 7yrs old. I go to the office talk to someone in the office she emails the person in charge of updating kids allergies, walks to the cafeteria with me we look up my sons lunch account and it says allergic to milk, yogurt. The lady in the office was truly worried and did what she could do asap she even left my contact info so I could be contacted. I received a call from the lady who updates our children's Allergies and She doesn't seem to realize how important this is my son was in the hospital. His organs were enlarged , they could of shut down. All she can say to me is get a doctors note, why wasn't I informed about this in 2013 it's 2015 lady. I ask for the information of the person above her she goes right pass that by apologizing. I don't want apologies I'm past that point I want results. I have so many Dr bills from blood test just to be told it's because he is digesting milk somehow. Yeah he was digesting milk at school. I trust these people with my child and what does the cafeteria attendant do who see"s the screen that says allergic to milk, yogurt she lets him get pizza. Not once,not twice three times. I'm not stating anyone's name because they have a right to privacy but I'm defiantly upset I've been more that nice this is serious this is my child's life. I'm giving one star because of the cafeteria and their incompetence behavior. This is not a reflection of the school and office staff they are wonderful.

Love the school, the teachers, the staff and the children! I always feel welcome as a mom at any…read moretime in the school and the classroom. I enjoy helping the teachers with copies and laminations as needed and the children really enjoy having moms participate in some of the classroom activities. I appreciate the fact that parents that have the opportunity are encouraged to play a part in the classrooms and not always take a backseat in their education.
