Since he started Kumon, he established good work habits while he is doing Math and Reading everyday. I am very pleased that he is much more confident at school. My older kid who is 7th grade, taking Algebra Honors course at school. He started Kumon at beginning of this year because he is making careless mistakes at school. Because his lack of Math drill, he started Kumon on much lower level but he is catching up fast now. I am very confident that Kumon will be beneficial for both of boys and looking forward to see my kids improvement over the summer.

Update 7/21: We received a phone call after the fact trying to rectify and reschedule, so changed…read moreto 3 stars from 1 because they explained the individual that was supposed to meet with us was in a daily conference with parents of enrolled siblings. I still feel this could have just been explained to us during the time we just stood there or someone could have just rescheduled, I do think it's admirable that they care enough to spend the time talking to parents of enrolled students (hence the bump). I'm still no longer interested in enrollment though. 7/20: 1 star We were very excited to enroll our daughter in Kumon, as we have friends with children in Kumon, but in different location. We scheduled an assessment and appointment about a 5 days in advance (they are very busy and this was the earliest we could get). We arrived for our assessment, and our daughter was taken back to complete it. We waited outside (due to coiv.... very understandable). No one explained the process to us, just gave us some paperwork to fill out and review while we waited for our daughter's assessment to be completed. Once she was done, we had to ask what we needed to do next. after some confusion, someone told us we could wait inside. Then we waited, 20 mins (mind you, there were no chairs, just a window to lean on). We asked if we were waiting for someone, and they said, yes, someone would be out to talk with us shortly. We waited another 10 mins, and asked again what exactly we were waiting for, and they said someone would be with us. After another 10 mins, we gave up and left. We were set up for a 1 hour appointment, and left with our kid having only done a 10 min assessment in that time. They just seemed really unorganized and extremely busy. Not the best impression to make when seeking this kind of service. Parents should be aware that you cannot drop off your kid and return at the end of class... you must wait outside or in your car. The only plus was that our daughter said her assessor was really nice.

The format and the books are really helpful too. Three to one ratio is really good to keep the kids completely focused and to utilize the class time fully. Everything is good except for the fees. It's is definitely on the higher side as we need to purchase the hours before beginning and the rates are better only if we buy a whole lot of hours which skyrockets our costs. Our needs are different and might need a variety of options with time and money to make it more affordable to consider joining. **This rating is for the PRESIDENT of Education One, NOT the director or any teachers at this…read morelocation (they're all fabulous). My cousin signed up for tutoring services here and he loved the teachers and the director (Will) is extremely nice. Unfortunately, due to COVID, the center switched to online tutoring. My cousin knew virtual learning isn't the best way he learns and our family felt uncomfortable sending him back when the center opens due to the increase in COVID cases around this area. Therefore, sadly, we came to a decision to quit tutoring services and we asked for a refund. The president told us that we can't get a refund because of the discount we received when we first registered. This made no sense to us because they gave the discount for their grand opening and the center also gives additional discounts to "good, motivated" students which my cousin was qualified for. The president kept having us refer back to their return policy stating that the discount exceeded the amount we were originally supposed to pay for, HOWEVER, their refund policy doesn't state that they will be calculating the refund based on our discounted price. She basically kept insisting that if customers receive discounts, they don't get a refund which is extremely unfair for the customers. In other words, they steal their customers money. It doesn't end there, the president is also extremely rude and unprofessional. I'm uploading part of our conversation to show you how disrespectful she is. Take a look! Also, save your money and don't send your children here!! There are better tutoring centers around here and you DEFINITELY don't want to give this meany president your business. Trust me.

Our son did his part, doing practice exams and going over them when they met. We had what we thought was a realistic expectation of how much the score might improve and were pleasantly surprised when he scored higher than we'd hoped and expected. Art is able to explain the material as well as how test questions are designed in ways that our son understood and was able to apply. Both not only helped this score, but certainly will contribute in the future. Highly recommended.

The whole process of applying to college has changed so much over the last two decades (when I first applied). It has further changed in the last several months during this pandemic. If you want to have the best understanding of the process and be provided with insightful, educated suggestions and recommendations you should have your son or daughter work with Julia and her team. They will help you match your child to the right school (or group of schools) - some of which you may have not even considered. No matter how nice or persuasive the owner of the business is (and believe me she is very persuasive), do not provide your credit card information. Once you do, they will charge your credit card even if you tell them to stop charging. This is exactly what happened to me. I'm sorry that I have to post this negative report. I am not one to do this type of thing, but in this case, I believe I was really treated badly and unfairly. I normally assume positive intent when I deal with people or with businesses, that's what I did this time too. But unfortunately, my assumption was wrong about Professional Tutoring LLC. Although, I have reached out to the owner multiple times and nicely requested for them not charge my credit card and for them to refund the amount they have already charged, they always refer to a contract and refuse to discuss. I think that was very beneficial to him in the long term, as some students are better at Science than English, and if so, it's better to take the ACT. We've had three tutors through them for different subject needs/kids as well as test prep. Each tutor has been knowledgeable and highly professional. I've also been impressed by how helpful and prompt the office staff is in responding to our needs. Several years ago before my oldest went to college, she worked with a tutor who I believe was named Pam - a really smart lady who helped her bring her math and chemistry grades up from Cs and Bs to mostly straight As. Not only was that great for college apps, but her confidence went through the roof. They are more expensive than a tutor you may hire on your own, but I've found the investment to be well worth it.

It doesn't matter how many times you've took the LSAT or who got into law school before you. Your time is coming. I've took the LSAT MULTIPLE times and have a history of underperformance on standardized tests. I never understood why until I found Shana. I never thought for a second that I possibly could be suffering from test anxiety. Test anxiety takes on many forms, but Shana will help you through it. I've been working Shana for the past two weeks remotely and let me tell you she's truly God sent. Whether you're religious or spiritual (maybe neither) it doesn't matter, but she's truly a blessing. Shana is passsionate about the work that she does and her students. Shana is a teacher at heart and she breaks down the material in such a way that things start to click instantly. Shana not only helps you master the LSAT, but she provides you with test anxiety strategies that will make studying easy. I look forward to studying with Shana and doing my hw. When you work with her, she will start to peel away at the layers of your anxiety. This needs to be done in order to make progress. Your anxiety has been in control far too long and it's time to let it go. Even if you're not suffering from anxiety, adhd, or other learning disabilities Shana is for EVERYONE. Invest in yourself and get Shana on your team. Studying this time around is different. I can see and feel it. I'm much more relaxed. I still have a lot work to do, but I'm ready this time. Thanks Shana! I'll post another update once I slay the LSAT in March! P.S. I've used all the major test prep companies before. What is the difference between them and Shana? Most of the instructors have never been teachers before and only started after scoring in the 99th percentile on the LSAT. Now that isn't a bad thing, of course you want to be in a class with an instructor who aced the exam( in my opinion). However, just because you're good at something doesn't mean you're qualified to teach it. Also, if you suffer from anxiety, adhd, and other learning disabilities they might not be able to provide you with the support/accommodations that you need. Shana is and her work speaks for herself.
