VERY frustrated. Husband and I bought a mattress back in November. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and we were looking for something more comfortable. Found one we liked in the medium firmness, bought the 365 program membership and a mattress cover so that everything was under "warranty" (whatever that means for them). The woman told us that it would be firm at first but overtime it would soften. Told us to rotate it to help break it in. We had the mattress delivered and installed. For a while we were uncomfortable but remembered what she said about it breaking in and rotating it. Fast forward 7 months and my husband is having chronic neck pain due to the matters being too firm. At this point we had had enough of the discomfort so I called to see about an exchange (since it was under "warranty") and the man on the phone confirmed we had the firm option for our selected mattress. My husband and I were GOBSMACKED!! No way on planet earth at 6 months pregnant would I select a FIRM mattress. The customer service guy gave us all the info to get started on the exchange. We get a call saying the restock fee is, "typically $800 but they'll only charge us $400." Obviously frustrated that I'm paying basically a car payment for a mistake made by the sales rep, I call customer service, the man on the phone tells me that typically if it was at fault of the sales rep, we won't be charged a restock fee but he needed to send me to mattress services. The mattress services woman tells me that because we didn't complain directly after the "30 day break in period" there's no proof that we were unhappy that we received the wrong mattress. I tried to tell her time and again that we were listening to what the sales rep told us about waiting for it to break in. Then she said because we failed the check the receipt or the law tag, we have to pay the restock fee like everyone else. Is everyone else getting sent the wrong mattress too??? Doesn't make any gosh darn sense to me. So now we are having to pay a $400 restock fee because I had to much trust in the sales woman. This is basically the worst place you can go to with Obnoxious, they sold me the wrong item and when I tried to return or exchange they refuse, if you think that you might be unhappy with your purchased from Mathes sleep center, you will not be able to exchange or return or do anything because they will tell you "that is our policy" even though it is their mystique and they are very nice when you go to Bali and they are very terrible and disrespectful if you go to exchange something. Went in to buy a new mattress and one of the salesmen talked me into buying a "showroom" model, told me how the frames were free and I had a sleep guarantee and if I didn't like the mattress they would help me get what I needed. Fast forward I find out the mattress is like a brick can't sleep at all and go in to try and spend more money upgrading to a higher dollar mattress and they tell me it's "as is" and their is nothing they can do I call the main branch and they tell me me the same I then get ahold of the store manager and explain that the salesman pulled some used car trick on me and they tell me i cant exchange for 30 days after I get it. I told them I can't even sleep on the mattress and it's tough luck, I spent 1400$ and can't even sleep I will never bring my business back to this place. My husband and I bought a bed in January that was expensive. It was a Tempur-Pedic and the bases have never worked the way they were supposed to. I paid $4900.00 dollars for the bases alone and this company is only going to give me back $500. That's ridiculous. I will NEVER buy another item from them. They did not show me any respect at all. they lie to you. i bought a bed, $2400.00 spent. i was told they delivered, installed and hauled off. my sales rep lied ... my old bed is in my front yard covered in rain water. i am SSDI disabled and this is how they treat me. they wouldnt do this to someone in EDMOND. they apperently hate NORMAN. Customer service at mathis is a joke. you get transfered to the same person who doesnt care at all. Jessica was my sales rep and she lied. delivery people said they dont haul off as they jumped in their truck and drove off. Customer service for mattress delivery is Andrea. her manager, according to her, doesnt take calls, her name is supposedly Sylvia. If you try to call the Norman store, you get a call center in OKC. They got my money in their account and IMMEDIATLY said screw you ... we will not talk to you. NEVER trust Mathis Brothers. Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing!!!! My husband and I were on opposite sides of the fence with the mattresses we liked, and James was so patient with us as we went back and forth between them trying to make this very difficult decision. He was positive and friendly the entire time, and very professional. I ended up feeling comfortable enough in the Sleep Center, to really spend the time I needed on the different beds to be able to make the best choice. That's the kind of customer service and business environment that I'll recommend all day long! I also appreciated that James was not a high pressure salesman, and he gave us the amount of attention we needed, and at the same time the space we needed to think about our choices. Purchased an Americana mattress for over $1,000. Within a year and a half, the mattress developed sink holes/body impressions. Mathis personnel agreed the mattress failed and is covered by warranty. Now they want to charge us $60 to pick up the failed mattress, "repair" the mattress (instead of replace), and they advised this would be a 2 day turn around. We asked how we are supposed to sleep without a mattress for 2 days, and Mathis personnel advised us to sleep on the couch or in a recliner. Only other option would be to take the mattress ourselves to Oklahoma City before 9am, then return to pick it up after 3 pm. (fyi, we live 35 miles from OKC). It is not our fault that their product "failed", yet we're expected to make all of the concessions and cover all costs. "Ridiculous !" Customer Service at its worst ! Do not purchase a mattress from this store as they do not have any form of return policy. They instead use predatory tactics to make you believe they do and then go back on their word. I purchased a mattress and they told me to pay $69.00 to become part of their Return Policy through their 'Platinum Rewards' program. They told me I would get a full refund if it did not work out and I could return my mattress without issue. They then told me to also purchase a mattress protector which came to $89.95. The total for my mattress came to $978.70 with tax. The total with the other two items came to $1145.52. I followed their rules and kept the protector on and waited for 30 days to try it out. I am not getting sleep at night and suffer from horrible backaches. Right away I knew the mattress was not the same mattress I thought I had purchased. The ones on their showroom floor are softer than what you get, leading you to get a different mattress than you expect. After the 30 days I called them to return the mattress. They told me that instead they have an 'Exchange Policy' not a Return policy like I was sold. I called their customer service and they told me they do not have a return policy at all. I called again because I wanted clarification and they told me my mattress was over $1000 so I could not be part of even their exchange program. I called their manager and he tells me they no longer offer any program like this, nor has he even heard of it. I was lied to, they used predatory tactics to assure me that I was going to get satisfaction, I paid the extra money and waited the 30 days and now they are still lying to me. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Unit at the Attorney General's Office because this is getting out of hand and I want no one else to go through what I am going through.
