We grabbed drinks in the lounge area while waiting for seats at the famous spinning carousel bar since seating is first come, first served. Around 11:20 PM, seats finally opened up and it was 100% worth the wait. The carousel bar itself is such a cool experience and something you have to do at least once when visiting New Orleans. Located inside the beautiful Hotel Monteleone, the atmosphere was amazing. Live band playing, classy but fun vibe, great energy, and the staff was attentive even with how busy it was. Every drink we ordered was excellent. This place is iconic for a reason and we'd absolutely come back again.

It was made with Hennessy, lemon juice, simple syrup, crème de cassis, St-Germain, and ginger ale, garnished with a dried lemon wheel and "Filthy" cherries -- smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. My date had the Royal Street Heat, crafted by Sean Holcomb, made with St. George Chile Pepper Vodka, agave nectar, peach purée, Hellfire bitters, ginger beer, and a Tajin rim. It had the perfect mix of sweet heat and flavor. Both drinks were so good we ended up ordering two rounds while sitting at the rotating bar listening to a live jazz band. Watching the bartenders work while slowly moving around the bar made the whole experience unique and entertaining. Definitely a must-visit spot in New Orleans.

No music, no food service, or anything that shows that tried to create a nice vibe. It's literally just some chairs on the rooftop. The bar has a bartender, not mixologist, who makes drinks that I can make better at home. The little drinks are served un-garnished in tiny plastic cups and cost $15+. Not to mention they will take whatever tip amount they like out if you forget to close your tab. So my basic plastic cup of lemon, sugar, and a splash of vodka (I can't even call it a lemon drop) was $20. I wish I had taken a photo of how tiny the cups are.

Really disappointing experience…read more Vue honestly felt pretty bare bones to me. Yes, I learned some things about the culture and people of New Orleans and I got a few good pictures but I wouldn't recommend this at all. I was hoping to get a picture with my sister as indicated on the website but I didn't see anyone offer that or see it as an option once we made it there. I thought the mini story in the elevator was fun, short of course but they need to restructure this place I honestly was unimpressed. The website suggest it takes an hour and a half to experience the whole place, we walked the whole place, took pictures, watched 2 videos in well under an hour and a half. The employees were very nice and helpful; maybe I expected to much of Vue but I say temper your expectations.

We also found this to be walking distance from our tourist area hotel, but others may not. I do believe it is close to public transportation. It's easy to let yourself into the hotel, find the elevator and make your way to the correct floor, some roof top bars do make this more challenging than it should be. I do appreciate that this has a Rosie the Riveter theme and found that to be quite unique. I didn't have much interest in the World War II museum next door, but I assume many people go there and then come here for food/drinks after. We sat at the bar, but did be sure to make our way outside to check out the views. It was a beautiful sunny day and I do wish I would have made the effort to get a table outside. The menu contained a lot of tasty sounding New Orlean's type cuisine, but we didn't sample any. Definitely worth a stop off if you are in the area, or just like me and trying to find a semi close rooftop bar.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt fun, vibrant, and a little over-the-top in the best way. The décor is absolutely stunning--every corner feels like it was designed for photos. The girls had an amazing time taking pictures, and there were endless Instagram-worthy backdrops throughout the restaurant. If you're planning a special occasion with teens (or honestly anyone who loves a good aesthetic), this place delivers. The food was delicious. The pork cheek was a great starter. The girls loved all the desert options. Mom and Dad enjoyed cocktails especially the sugar cane old fashion in the other room. The staff was friendly and accommodating with our group, which made the experience even better. The energy of the place really made the night feel like an event rather than just dinner. Overall, it was a memorable way to celebrate a milestone birthday. If you're looking for a lively, visually fun spot in New Orleans for a special occasion, Jack Rose is a great choice.
