Moving is very stressful. I was on a time crunch and did not get to check and make everything was…read moreremoved. When I returned to the house latter there were items that should have been hauled away. 3 emails later and still no call to address this. This is horrible customer service and I will never use this service again! I think they are way overpriced and I wish I had more time to shop around. Now I am getting untruths for example: I have not heard from anyone except this email, no one called and no one was home for them to return. Hi Dave, I have been informed that the truck team returned yesterday to collect the missed items. Was there anything else that occurred that requires attention? In theory this would be a great service but something about my personal experience made me feel…read moreuneasy about it. I was downsizing to a 1 bedroom apartment and decided to get rid of a cheap couch that I got off of Amazon. It wasn't heavy at all and besides the base it was cushions.. I wanted to get a quote over the phone to get an idea if it would be in a doable range but when I reached out I was advised that they don't do that but that they come to you, assess what you need gone and will provide a quote. They advised that if you don't like the price then you can just let their reps know and they'd go on their way. The two gentleman that came to the house were friendly. I showed them the couch and they looked it over. They had a folder with prices and other info so they pulled thst out and advised about their fees and that I wouldn't need to pay environmental fees, etc. They said they charge based on how my space the items will take up on their truck (or something like that). They said the items size was comparable to a refrigerator so it would be $300ish (can't recall how much exactly). I was completely flabbergasted. The cost of trashing it would be a little less than what I paid for it new on Amazon! I was shocked and told them that I was not willing to pay that and I was sorry to waste their time. I said that that's why I tried to get and idea of cost over the phone because I literally thought it would be around $50-60. They mumbled something to each other and began to negotiate by saying that they're not supposed to but that they could discount it and get it down to $125. I thought about it but still declined. I was determined that I'd figure out alternate arrangements. They then told me that they'd call their boss to see if they could bring the cost down any more so they proceeded to walk outside to make the call. I stood there soo uncomfortablw because it felt weird like they get a commission or something by the way they were trying to negotiate the pricing. Shortly after, I walked outside and told them that unfortunately I was no longer interested in using their services. They looked disappointed and a tad bit annoyed and said that their boss may call me (which he didn't). In my humble opinion and just based on my experience it came off a little like a scam so just a heads up if you decide to try to use their services.

I decided to check several hauling companies before settling on Pick Up Haulers. Chris was the…read moreonly company that actually had a verbal conversation with me so we would be on the same page . I had estimates from $200 to over 1K $$$ when I sent out a list of items I anticipated needed to be removed. One of the many things I liked about Pick Up Haulers is that they do their best to sort everything that they pick up and try to recycle it at the appropriate places instead of just taking it all to the landfill. They ended up spending more than a couple of hours lifting and carrying stuff out to their flatbed trailer /they also disassembled a trundle bed and were able to take it in the mattress to the truck . They determine their price based on the amount of space (? Cubic feet )We ended up using about 3/4 of their space on their large flatbed trailer and the fee was just a little over $300. I felt that was very fair for the services provided. Texas in May isn't usually quite as hot & humid as the Friday we moved. I enjoyed Chris and the young man that was his employee. They were very respectful and understood our situation. I would definitely use them again and plan to whenever we decide to move!! One thing I will say is that after this experience I definitely feel that less. (much less.!!) is more! LOL
