If you are looking to make big grocery store trips to get a big bunch of food or supplies for the week, you probably are going to head to the Lowes Foods right back over the bridge or the Food Lions near Sunset Beach or Shallotte. But for quick things, a few food items or convenience store things, beer, etc. then Sheffield's fits the bill. A huge walk in beer cooler, always nice especially when it is so hot outside! There is a small seafood shop in the back as well. Quick ice stop here is probably the main reason we see it so much. Very nice people working, great location, and handy items make Sheffield's one place you will probably visit many times if you make it out to OIB anytime for a vacation.

I would like to report an act of discrimination and rudeness at Circle K at corner of Oak Island…read moreRd. I and a friend, both 60 year old, white, blonde women stopped at Circle K to get cigarettes and were refused by the black manager Erica. I had ID and didn't mind showing it, however, unbeknownst to me, my license had expired... I had other ID and am obviously not under 30, but that wasn't good enough. So my friend tried to buy them and again she refused stating it was a 3rd party sale...??? Are you kidding me? I really thought she was kidding, but she wasn't. We tried to present our argument regarding age, but she just smirked and went about her business. I can't get over the pettiness and rudeness. So instead we went to Doodles and had no problems. Highly recommend Doodles for all your purchases! Support local businesses. I learned my lesson. The NC law Under N.C. Gen. Stat. 14-313, selling tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and vaping devices, to individuals under 21 is prohibited. Retailers are required to verify the age of purchasers through government-issued identification, checking IDs for anyone appearing under 30 to ensure compliance.

I was kind of hungry since coming off the sunset night cruise that only had a bar and popcorn! I didn't feel like hanging in a restaurant at 9pm so I walked around town taking pictures. Driving out, I passed this familiar market! It's 11pm that I'm here and I think it stays open til midnight. It's basically a smoke shop but it has ice cream sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, chips and I even got a pack of cough drops! Thx village market- you're a gem.

Touristy store which charges an arm and leg for items. Think 7-11 across the street from the…read morebeach. This place is VERY small, so it's hard to move around in there if it's crowded. If you run out of bread, soda, or cereal, it's easy to stop in here to pick it up. Oh and don't forget the snow globes and other touristy items you can't live without. I was going to give this place 3 stars, but it deserves an extra one for the great location! There are a few parking spots, but most of the patrons walk here. You know those coolers on wheels? Here's a great way to use one - roll on over to pick up a few cold ones and then roll on out to the beach!
